In order to counter Chinese deployment along the Line of Actual Control, the Indian Army has made some changes on the northern borders after the troops of two countries engaged into border standoff in eastern Ladakh. Anish Singh reports

Asked about the current military standoff with China in eastern Ladakh, Deswal said "strains in bilateral relations are already evident but we are confident these will be sorted out peacefully very shortly."

 Media report claims Chinese PLA troops have transgressed further into Indian territories. However, the government and the Indian Army have called this media report fake.

Participating in the annual Dussehra function at RSS headquarters in Nagpur, Bhagwat said: "Many noteworthy incidents such as abrogation of Article 370 following due parliamentary procedures, Bhoomipujan for grand Ram Mandir based on Supreme Court's unambiguous judgment and the lawful passage of CAA took place during the last year."

This comes just a week before the visit by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper.

New Delhi and Beijing held their 19th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on India-China border affairs on Wednesday (September 30).

On the fourth day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke on the military standoff with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. He said that China continues to be in illegal occupation of approx 38,000 sq kms in the Union Territory of Ladakh. Rajnath Singh added, "Chinese actions reflect disregard of various bilateral agreements. We want peaceful resolution, but prepared to deal with all contingencies."  Watch video to know more.

The Union home ministry today said in Parliament that no infiltration has been reported along the India-China Border in the last last six months. The response was given by Nityanand Rai, minister of state for Home in the Rajya Sabha. The written response to an unstarred question also listed the infiltration attempts on India’s border with Pakistan.

Referred to as Vikas Battalion, the Special Frontier Force (SFF) has been instrumental in occupying some key heights on LAC with China in Ladakh to thwart any occupation by the Chinese troops. A covert outfit, SFF was raised in the immediate aftermath of the 1962 Sino-India war. SFF recruits are a mixture of Tibetans and Gorkhas & initially went by the name of Establishment 22.
