IT department serves notice to Congress party after Rs 8 lakh in unaccounted money is seized from the car of an alleged aide of party MLA Mohan Srivastav. Congress party has been quick to claim political witch0hunt ahead of the elections.

The Income Tax (IT) department seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 32.6 crore and close to 10kg of gold in 20 premises of a company. Through the raids the IT department found that the undisclosed income of the company and its promoters is estimated at about Rs 435 crore.

Elections to the Nanguneri Assembly and Vikravandi seats are drawing near. The villagers who have boycotted the elections caught DMK cadres with cash. The election flying squad believe that the cash was kept for distribution amongst voters. 
 

The eight-member inter-state armed robbers was arrested by Central Crime Branch on April 7 near BDA Complex at RT Nagar when they came to sell the two country-made pistols, live cartridges, air gun and chloroform. The police say that despite the election commission's guidelines not to carry excess cash of above Rs 50,000 without proper documents, the two-wheeler rider had Rs 45 lakh in his possession

Income Tax sleuths conducted a raid on rural development department's executive engineer Narayanagowda Patil and seized Rs 2 crore in cash. Is Karnataka minister Krishna Byre Gowda connected to this?

According to the latest EC data, in West Bengal, the figure stands at about Rs 12.14 crore, while Rs 10.41 crore has been seized in Kerala. Puducherry has seen seizures of about Rs 60.88 lakh.
