Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan chief Allama Khadim Hussain Rizvi, who recently led anti-blasphemy and anti-France protests in Islamabad, has passed away. The 54-year-old radical Islamic cleric was highly regarded across Pakistan, especially the Punjab province.

On Monday evening, Pakistan's National Assembly asked the Imran Khan government through a unanimous resolution that the country's envoy in France be recalled as a mark of protest against "blasphemy by French president". The catch is, there isn't a Pakistani envoy in France since 3 months. 
 

Anguished by the lynching of a Pakistani student for alleged blasphemy, Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai today said Pakistanis themselves are responsible for tarnishing the image of Islam and the country.

Blasphemy laws were enacted during the British era in Bangladesh and make any kind of insult to religion a criminal offence.
