Here's why the TN govt needs to rethink about the green corridor

Tamil Nadu's CM K Palaniswamy seems to be attracting a lot of criticism from the opposition party and the citizens for going "green". In a major, infrastructural boost, the centre and the TN govt have proposed a Rs 10,000 crore green express corridor project to connect the two already connected cities- Salem and Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The new corridor planned via Hurur and Thiruvannamalai is believed to reduce the travel distance by about 60km, from the present 360 km, and will also halve the travel time from six hours to only 3 hours.
