Actress assault BJP sees CPM connection

The alleged nexus between the film industry and goonda-mafia networks is under scanner as the mystery over the abduction of young Mollywood actress continues to dominate media space.

The investigation team is yet to nab the prime suspect Pulsar Suni, the former driver of the actress even as reports suggest that the police would grill some top players in the film industry.

Many media houses had reported that the investigators questioned a prominent Malayalam actor at his residence in Aluva. But the investigation team refused to confirm these reports.

Another unconfirmed report said that a suspect in the case was picked up by the police from the flat of a young actor-director in Ernakulam. The rumours had it that Pulsar Suni had already landed in police net. But that also turned out to be a false alert.

The pressure is mounting on the investigation team and the government as the Opposition alleging that it was trying to protect the culprits

Now, the pressure is mounting on the investigation team and the government as the Opposition alleging that it was trying to protect the culprits even after a lapse of four days.

The actress was abducted and assaulted at Kochi on Friday night, and the police had started search operations for the suspects early morning on Sunday.  Only four suspects have been taken into custody so far.

Meanwhile, the BJP has leveled serious allegations against CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's son Bineesh Kodiyeri. BJP state general secretary AN Radhakrishnan demanded probe into the alleged role of Bineesh Kodiyeri, who has acted in a few films, in the abduction. Some producers who are close to the CPM leader's son are dominating the film industry in Kerala, the BJP leader said.

BJP leader MT Ramesh also alleged that the suspects in the case had close links with the CPM. VP Vijeesh, one of the suspects, is a CPM man and is the neighbour of CPM leader P Jayarajan. Vijesh's brother Sajilesh is an accused in the conspiracy behind the murder of RSS leader Kathirur Manoj, he alleged.
