50 Smart village offices in Kerala
The Kerala state government has decided to provide administrative sanction for making 50 village offices 'smart.' The project is named as 'smart'. The plan is to offer faster services using the latest technology. The 50 village offices will be given Rs 44 lakhs to construct new buildings and install the most modern equipment and facilities.
The Kerala state government has decided to provide administrative sanction for making 50 village offices 'smart.' The project is named as 'smart'. The plan is to offer faster services using the latest technology. The 50 village offices will be given Rs 44 lakhs to construct new buildings and install the most modern equipment and facilities.
The new buildings will have an area of 1,200 sq ft and will come up on land which is already available. In other places, the government will utilise revenue ‘puramboke’ land for the purpose. The sanction was given based on a directive by the revenue minister E Chandrasekharan.
The smart village offices will include facilities like sufficient seats for visitors, places where forms can be quickly filled as in banks, drinking water and washrooms. Employees will also be having half cabin and similar arrangements.
The government is also planning to offer e-filing facilities at these new smart village offices.
The government has confirmed the districts and the villages; the Alappuzha district village office will be confirmed only after Chengannur by-elections.
