The district administrator suggested that there is no need for concern over the Nipah virus in bats in Wayand district. The health administrator advised that self-medication should be avoided if mild fever is present.

Following the outbreak of the Nipah virus, several restrictions were imposed in Kozhikode district. Now, even after a month has passed since Kozhikode became Nipah-free, the restrictions continue at Karipur airport.

Nipah virus can be transmitted to humans through direct contact with infected animals (particularly fruit bats or flying foxes), their bodily fluids, or consumption of contaminated raw date palm sap.

Four people, including a nine-year-old boy, who were under treatment for the Nipah virus in Kozhikode have recovered. Health Minister Veena George informed that all four have tested negative and were discharged from NIMS Hospital.

Health Minister Veena George informed that the test results of 61 people, including the person who was in close contact with the person who died due to Nipah, turned out to be negative on Monday( Sep 18). As of now, around 200 samples have been tested negative. The Minister said that the central team is satisfied with the defence activities of Kerala.

District Collector A Geetha informed that the classes will be conducted online from September 18 to September 23 in the educational institutions of the district. Students should not be brought to educational institutions under any circumstances.

Karnataka is monitoring travellers from Kerala in the wake of the Nipah virus outbreak in the Kozhikode district. The vehicles coming from Kozhikode, Malappuram and Wayanad districts are being closely monitored. 

Kerala Health Minister Veena George has confirmed that no fresh cases of Nipah were reported on Saturday. She also said that 11 samples that were sent for Nipah testing turned out to be negative.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George said that the man who died in Maruthonkara on August 30 tested positive for the Nipah virus on Friday. Meanwhile, the holiday for educational institutions in Kozhikode district will continue until September 24.

 The Kozhikode district has implemented new restrictions to prevent the spread of the Nipah virus. The order was issued by District Collector A. Gita on Thursday and stated that gatherings or public events of any kind in the containment zones have been restricted.

Karnataka has heightened surveillance in bordering districts due to the Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala. The government advises against unnecessary travel to affected areas and has implemented fever surveillance checkpoints at entry points. Various measures, including public education, medical supply readiness, and sample testing, aim to prevent the virus from spreading further.
 

The Karnataka government has instructed that unnecessary travel to Kozhikode district should be avoided as amid concern of Nipah cases in Karnataka. The Karnataka government has taken action to enhance surveillance in its border districts.

While the exact cause remains uncertain, samples have been collected for analysis. This outbreak has also deeply affected fruit growers. Route maps of victims' movements have been released to aid investigations.
