The Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru, renowned for its rich biodiversity spanning centuries, is facing an imminent threat due to scorching heat. Without rainfall within 15 days, thousands of trees and plants across its 175-acre expanse risk withering away. The gardens, spanning 240 acres, require 1.5 million liters of water daily, far surpassing available resources. 

A young woman was molested during her morning stroll in Bengaluru's Lalbagh Park. She bravely captured a photo of her attacker, sparking a call for justice. Her father appealed for action on social media, leading to a swift response from Siddapur police amid concerns for park visitors' safety.

The Horticulture Department's 215th Fruit and Flower Show at Lalbagh in Bengaluru, themed around 'Basavanna and Vachana Sahitya,' has faced a setback as the expected enthusiasm from the public did not materialize. Organisers express disappointment as the turnout fails to meet expectations. For this edition of the Lalbagh Flower Show, focused on Kayakayogi Basavanna and Vachana Sahitya, organisers anticipated a substantial crowd, estimating between 42,000 and 43,000 visitors on the weekend days of Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, only 29,100 visitors turned up on Saturday, with 34,200 on subsequent days, causing dismay among department officials.
 

The much-anticipated Lalbagh Flower Show in Bengaluru begins today as part of Republic Day celebrations. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the event, featuring 68 varieties and 32 lakh flowers in structures like Anubhava Mandapam. With a budget of ₹2.85 crore, highlights include a 10-foot statue of Vishwaguru Basavanna and a 30-foot high experience pavilion. Running from January 18 to 28, the show pays tribute to Basavanna and Vachana Sahitya, offering a visual feast.

The Lalbagh flower show, celebrating Independence Day, starts on August 4 until August 15. Honoring Kengal Hanumantaiah, it features an 18-foot floral Vidhana Soudha made from 7.2 lakh flowers. Online ticketing and parking facilities available. Students in uniforms get free entry. Regular ticket prices: Rs 70 for adults, Rs 30 for children.

Preparations for the Independence Day celebrations are underway in Lalbagh, the beating heart of Bengaluru, with over 10 lakh flowers being utilised to create models of the Vidhana Soudha and the Shivpura Satyagraha Soudha.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palika (BBMP) plans the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Heritage Corridor, a 12 km route in South Zone to preserve Bengaluru's heritage. It will feature a harmonious design with traditional elements, AI cellphone guides, and art installations at 24 locations, celebrating the city's rich cultural legacy.

The Vande Bharat Express train can touch Chennai from Bengaluru in just three hours if it runs at full capacity. As for the 'Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan' train, it offers an eight-day tour package at discounted rates for pilgrims. 

Bengaluru’s famous Lalbagh flower show has begun on Friday. This year’s show has been themed on Kannada stars, Dr Rajkumar and his son Puneeth Rajkumar, who breathed his last in the year 2021.

The forecast for the city shows more heavy rainfall to hit many parts of the city today. 

Bengaluru will not witness the Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh in January next year. The Horticulture department has cancelled the flower show due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

BJP leader Locket Chatterjee paid a surprise visit to Murshidabad on October 4 in support of the Agriculture Bill. According to sources, the BJP leader was shown a black flag by the Trinamool Youth Congress in front of Singhi High School in Lalbagh while she was on her way to join another procession of the party in Berhampur.

Bengaluru’s botanical garden Lalbagh saw lesser number of visitors on Monday in comparison with Nandi Hills and Kemmangundi in Chikkamagaluru. Only 450 visitors turned up on the first day of Unlock 4.0.
