The impact of the weather has been widespread, affecting regions including North Al Sharqiya, South Al Sharqiya, Al Dakhiliya, Muscat, South Al Bathinah, and Al Dahira governorates, along with parts of North Al Bathinah, Al Buraimi, Musandam, and Al Wusta governorates.

Earlier on June 11, an earthquake of 3.6 magnitude hit the central part of Assam, an official bulletin confirmed. "There was no immediate report of any loss of life or injury to anyone or damage to property," it said.

On Sunday, the IMD said that a severe cold wave is likely to grip parts of northern India including Delhi and NCR till Wednesday. According to the IMD, the temperature in Delhi-NCR may plummet to 2 degrees on Monday and Tuesday.

Dense Fog in isolated pockets is also very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, north Rajasthan, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Tripura in night/morning hours during next 2-3 days.

According to IMD, the coldest day of the season occurred on Thursday in the Safdarjung area of Delhi, with a minimum temperature of 11.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Gurugram was 9.4 degrees Celsius.

Earlier on Saturday, strong tremors were felt in parts of north India, including in Delhi-NCR as a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, nearly 101 km east-southeast from Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, officials said.

“Normal to above normal seasonal rainfall is most likely over many areas of northern parts of Peninsular India and adjoining Central India, over foothills of Himalayas and some parts of Northwest India,” said IMD.
