An unfortunate incident unfolded when a one-year-old, brought urgently to Nimhans Hospital in Bengaluru, allegedly faced delayed treatment and subsequently passed away. The child, from Hassan, suffered severe injuries from a fall. Despite a swift ambulance transfer, reports suggest the hospital's alleged negligence contributed to the tragedy. The hospital and Health Minister are yet to issue official statements.

Venkat Mohit Achari, a data engineer from Andhra Pradesh, was booked for attempting to open the emergency door on Air France flight 194 from Paris to Bengaluru. He claimed to have a mental condition and wanted to check the door's functions. After landing, he was arrested but later released on bail for medical treatment at NIMHANS. All passengers were safe.

According to the new Act, a psychosurgery can be performed only when the patient provides informed permission and a specially organised state mental health board approves it. Previously, such proposals would be considered by a hospital board.

After learning about a government school student meeting with an accident and gaining treatment at NIMHANS for her injuries, Education Minister S Suresh Kumar paid a surprise visit and handed over a cheque of 1 lakh to the girl.
