Tribals in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, finally receive Aadhaar cards after a 14-year wait, thanks to a campaign initiated by the UIDAI. District Collector's efforts led to 2,974 tribals obtaining cards, facilitating access to crucial services like healthcare and insurance. Door-to-door visits aim to ensure all tribals receive their Aadhaar cards by January's end.

The Bengaluru city braces for a disruptive bandh on Tuesday led by the Karnataka Water Conservation Committee, fervently opposing the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu. This protest is poised to disrupt numerous essential services in the state capital. Notably, this marks the second bandh in a single week, with pro-Kannada organizations, under the leadership of Vatal Nagaraj, planning another shutdown on the 29th.
 

A day-long bandh will be observed in Karnataka on Thursday, June 22, over hike in electricity tariff rate. A call for the strike was given by the Hubballi-based Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 
 

This is in addition to the already existing absentee voters’ categories, who on account of being on duty on the day of polls would not be able to be present in their respective polling stations.

On Tuesday, private offices in Delhi were told to close, and staff were instructed to work from home. Offices connected to essential services are an exception to the rule. 

The situation erupted after 20,000 electricity department personnel went on strike against the merger of J&K Power Development Department into the Power Grid Corporation of India and the handing over of the assets to private companies.
 

Retail establishments, restaurants, and athletic and entertainment facilities will all stay closed. Schools and kindergartens will also be closed during this time.

While night curfew hours remain in place between 9 pm to 5 am except emergency and essential services.
 

Essential services will continue operating following protocols, the chief minister Mamata Banerjee said.

Considering a better situation in the state in terms of fresh cases, the government has allowed citizens to travel and purchase essential commodities between 8 to 11 AM.

The lockdown will start from 6 am on Sunday and continue till 6 pm on May 30. Only essential services will be allowed to operate during the lockdown.

 Essential services will be allowed to operate freely in the state during the lockdown.

Night curfew will continue to be in force in all the districts from 8 pm to 7 am daily. The order said that only essential services will be allowed during the lockdown and night curfew.

Goa government had announced a lockdown from April 29 7 pm to the morning of May 3.

 All essential services will be on, but public transport will be on, but public transport will remain shut, Sawant said, adding that labourers should not leave Goa in panic.
