In a significant move, the BBMP, in collaboration with BWSSB, has decided to supply free water using 200 to 300 tankers to areas grappling with acute shortages.
 

The Bengaluru Assembly passed the BBMP (Amendment) Bill, 2024, reducing property tax arrears penalties by 50%. Spearheaded by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, the bill offers relief estimated at 2,700 crores for citizens and 1,000 crores for the corporation. It includes exemptions for economically disadvantaged sections and waives penalties for certain properties.

The Karnataka government is addressing water scarcity near Bengaluru by re-drilling dried-up tube wells. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced plans to supply Cauvery water to 110 villages by April-May. Additional measures include maintaining existing tube wells, drilling new ones, and deploying water tankers for affected areas.
