In its guidelines, the Election Commission said the electors who are not able to produce their voter I-card will have to furnish one of the alternative photo identity documents for establishing their identity.

The Election Commission has introduced measures to facilitate voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Through the website electoralsearch.eci.gov.in and a dedicated application available on Android and iOS platforms, voters can easily locate their designated polling booths by entering personal information or their voter ID card number. 
 

Lok Sabha elections 2024: Applicants need to provide essential details such as name, age, date of birth, address, contact information, and upload scanned copies of identity and address proof documents.

Recognizing the importance of youth participation in the electoral process, the Election Commission has prioritized the enrollment of young voters. A substantial 2.31 lakh first-time voters have been successfully enrolled during the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls in 2024.

Candidates must keep their admit cards and identity cards (passport, driving licence, PAN, UID Aadhar card, or voter ID) on hand, as these documents will be required for verification during the exam. The test will last 120 minutes and consist of 140 questions (200 marks).

The ECI also referred to its letter issued to all Chief Election Officers of all the states on July 4 this year which said that collection of Aadhaar from the voters should be on a voluntary basis for linking and authentication of electoral roll data.

The volunteer action aims to eliminate any duplicates and contribute to the creation of "clean and transparent" photo-based election records. The Lok Sabha approved the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill by voice vote in December 2021, allowing the linkage of Aadhaar with voter identification.
