Karnataka: Ex-Minister Vinay Kulkarni arrested in murder case released on bail, gets rousing welcome

Former Congress minister Vinay Kulkarni who was released on bail gets a hero's welcome from his supporters outside Hindalga prison in Belagavi. The ex-minister was arrested in November 2020 in connection with Zilla Panchayat Yogesh Gouder murder case in 2016. Following the transfer of the case to the CBI as part of the probe, the sleuths arrested him. Kulkarni, though out on bail, still cannot enter his hometown Dharwad.

In the latest development concerning Hubbali-Dharwad politics in the Mumbai-Karnataka region, another Congress leader and former minister Vinay Kulkarni was reportedly planning to switch sides and join the BJP. However, speaking exclusively to Asianet Newsable, Kulkarni denied any rumours of him joining BJP.

 

He said he did not go with either Jagadish Shettar or Pralhad Joshi to meet Amit Shah as reported by the media and said he had gone to Rajasthan to purchase a horse. The leader's name was dragged in a murder case of a BJP leader and the case is now being probed by the CBI. It is said the leader wanted to save himself and was reportedly planning to switch sides.
