Purulia Police clarified that a misunderstanding emerged between the sadhus and three local minor girls due to a language barrier. Allegedly, the girls screamed and fled, prompting locals to apprehend and assault the sadhus.

Details revealed that the sadhus had approached three teenage girls for directions, causing the girls to scream and run away. This prompted locals to apprehend and manhandle the sadhus, with a video from the scene capturing the mob vandalizing a police vehicle.

The four sadhus from Uttar Pradesh had asked a boy for directions on their way from Karnataka's Bijapur to the temple town of Pandharpur, which led locals to suspect that they were members of a kidnapping gang.

An explosion-like sound was heard around 4 am at Narsingh temple, which is under the jurisdiction of Ayodhya Kotwali Police Station.

In a surprise visit that is said to be rare and lucky, Mahantha Ramagiri seer, a Naga Sadhu from Uttar Pradesh and his followers visited Hegde's house in Sirsi. They were welcomed by Hegde and his wife Roopa. They spent more than 30 minutes at Hegde's house and left after blessing the couple. Election for Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha seat will be held on April 23. The counting of votes is on May 23.
