The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad has arrested two individuals of Pakistani nationality along with their accomplice, who managed to enter the country via the Nepal border by assuming false Indian identities using counterfeit documents.

A suspected member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist organization, Luqman alias Mir Adil, was reported shot dead by unknown gunmen in Mamund area of Pakistan.

Hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi cited terror outfit Indian Mujahideen and the East India Company to launch a scathing attack on Opposition front India, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hit back with a sharp retort.

The caller, identified as Irfan Ahmed Sheikh (25) of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) terror group, threatened to blow up the airport. After receiving the threat call, all agencies at the airport were alerted.

The security at the airport was immediately beefed up after they received the call and agencies were alerted to keep a close watch on every suspicious movement. The police stated that a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

Suspected Indian Mujahideen operative Shahzad Ahmad was found guilty of murdering Inspector MC Sharma and attempting to murder Head Constables Balwant Singh and Rajbir Singh by firing at them during the Batla House encounter. In the 2008 Batla House encounter case, Shahzad was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
