According to reports, Sangeeta Singh, the headmistress of a primary school located in Dandamau village of Bighapur block, was found by assistant teacher Anam Khan while receiving a facial treatment in the cooking area of the school.

The assailant, identified as Javed, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the injured were treated at a local hospital. 

On January 16, a bench of Justices Mukta Gupta and Poonam A Bamba granted interim bail to Sengar from January 27 to February 10 on account of his daughter's marriage.

Sengar's advocates, N Hariharan and PK Dubey, informed the court that wedding rituals and ceremonies would be held in Gorakhpur and Lucknow and being the only male family member, he has to make arrangements.

Polling is underway in 59 Assembly seats spread across the districts of Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Banda, and Fatehpur.

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday arrested two youths, one of whom is a minor, from a neighbouring village for allegedly poisoning three minor Dalit girls in Asoha block of Unnao on Wednesday.
 

Superintendent of Police Anand Kulkarni, who reached the spot, said that the two girls have died while the other one has been admitted to a hospital. The bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem and an investigation is underway, police said.
