The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing critique of the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala, accusing them of lacking innovation and engaging in superficial conflicts while maintaining tactical alliances.

In a huge blow to the Congress in Kerala, Padmaja Venugopal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by officially accepting membership from BJP's senior leader Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi today.

PC George joined the Bharatiya Janata Party after reaching the BJP headquarters in Delhi.  Union Ministers Rajeev Chandrasekhar, V Muraleedharan, Prakash Javadekar, and Anil Antony were also present at the headquarters.

Javadekar said that the Kerala government has the habit of passing their failures on to the Central Government and appropriate good schemes of the Centre to show as they as state government schemes. 

The development comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kerala on Monday (April 24).
 

BJP leader Prakash Javadekar alleged that the Kerala Chief Minister is involved in many corruption cases. 
 

"The state government must arrest all those who entered the Asianet News office and created violence. Attack on press freedom cannot be tolerated," he said.

The BJP's central leadership is banking on the reported 36 per cent approval rating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has in Kerala and aims to reach a position where it is a major player in Kerala politics. 

The actor had been hospitalised for several days and received treatment after suffering multiple organ failures earlier this month. According to a family, his final rites would be performed in Pune on Saturday evening.
 

Nadda, who is on a two-day visit to Kerala, reached on Sunday. Upon his arrival, the party national president met former union minister Prakash Javadekar and other senior leaders.

With eyes on the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP gave new organisational charges to former chief ministers and Union ministers. Senior BJP leaders, including Vijay Rupani, Biplab Kumar Deb, Prakash Javadekar and Mahesh Sharma, were made in-charges of party affairs in different states.
