Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the election campaign in Kunnamkulam of the Alathur constituency on Monday (April 15). Both BJP candidates Suresh Gopi and TN Sarasu were also part of the election campaign.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released the fourth list of candidates on Friday (Mar 22) for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. Veteran actor Radhika Sarathkumar will contest from the Virudhunagar constituency.

The Prime Minister will reach Pathanamthitta to join the election campaigning with BJP candidate Anil Antony, son of Congress Working Committee member A.K. Antony at 1 pm today. The newly joined Padmaja Venugopal will also be at the event.

Karnataka emerged as the state with the highest number of incumbents replaced. The BJP opted to bench 10 sitting MPs out of the 20 names unveiled on Wednesday. Maharashtra, Delhi, and Gujarat saw seven, six, and five sitting MPs being benched respectively.

BJP leader PC George expressed his dissatisfaction in fielding Anil Antony in Pathanamthitta for Lok Sabha election after the party released the first list of candidates on Saturday (Mar 02).

Rajasthan Election 2023: Out of 199 seats, a direct contest is expected between the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party on about 150 seats. Over 5.25 crore voters are eligible to participate in the elections across the state. There are 1862 candidates competing for the 199 seats

Notably, three of the candidates included in the BJP's list are sitting Members of Parliament (MPs). These MPs are former BJP president Bandi Sanjay, Soyam Bapu, and Arvind Dharmapuri. Soyam Bapu is set to enter the election fray from Boath, while Dharmapuri will contest from Korutla.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) confirmed that all 40 assembly seats in Mizoram will witness voting on November 7, with the vote counting slated for December 3. Notably, the term of the Mizoram legislative assembly is set to conclude on December 17, 2023.

Ahead of the Karnataka Election 2023, PM Narendra Modi addressed 18 rallies in the southern state and spoke to party members through a virtual interaction on April 27. He also led six roadshows -- three in Bengaluru and one each in Mysuru, Kalaburagi and Tumakuru.

Even during the Bengaluru roadshow on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi was seen donning the traditional Mysore Peta.

The latest opinion poll, commissioned by Asianet News Network and conducted by Jan Ki Baat between April 15 and May 1 after ticket distribution and nomination filing by key candidates of three major political parties in the state, shows the BJP gaining ground while the JD-S is struggling to hold on to its vote bank.
