According to the index, there is a steep decline in the number of multidimensionally poor from 24.85% to 14.96% between 2015-16 and 2019-21. Rural areas saw the fastest decline in poverty from 32.59% to 19.28%. India is on track to achieve SDG Target 1.2 much ahead of the 2030 deadline.

Kerala General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Thursday said that the state's public educational institutions would attempt to maintain 210 working days for the academic year 2023-24. Kerala has received the top ranking in the NITI Aayog's School Education Quality Index.

The Chhattisgarh chief minister also urged the central government to bear the security expenditure of Rs 11,828 crore on the deployment of central forces and free the state from such costs, the statement said.

Samples of those arriving from foreign countries will be randomly tested for coronavirus, health ministry sources said on Wednesday.  According to Health Secretary Yashpal Garg, the Central government has already issued instructions to keep track of COVID cases and related trends.

The meeting was attended by Dr VK Paul, member, NITI Aayog; Dr. NK Arora, Chairman Covid-19 working group NTAGI; Dr Rajiv Bahl, DG-ICMR; Dr Rajesh Gokhale, Secretary in Dept of biotechnology and Dr Atul Goel DGHS, MoHFW.

The penalty for not wearing mask in public was reimposed in Delhi earlier this April after there was a spike in cases. A formal order was issued by the DDMA after a meeting that was held in this regard.
