Murder allegedly planned in advance

Police officials said the murder was not a sudden act done in anger. According to investigators, it was a planned conspiracy.

The accused allegedly included Aanchal, her alleged lover Ankit, her sister Shikha and Shikha’s boyfriend Ajay.

Soon afterwards, news spread that Pawan had allegedly consumed poison and fallen from the stairs. People gathered outside the house while family members appeared to be crying.

However, police officers who reached the scene felt something was suspicious from the beginning. According to officials, Pawan’s body had several injury marks that did not match the story of a simple fall after consuming poison.

The post-mortem report also reportedly showed signs of assault and other serious injuries.

After this, police began questioning family members and nearby residents.

Statements kept changing during questioning

Police said the accused persons gave inconsistent statements during questioning. Investigators also checked mobile call records, chats and technical evidence, which further increased suspicion.

According to police, when the accused were questioned strictly, the entire alleged conspiracy came out.

Senior Superintendent of Police Satpal said police found that Pawan was allegedly murdered by his wife Aanchal, her alleged lover Ankit, sister Shikha and Shikha’s boyfriend Ajay.

All four accused have now been arrested and presented before a court.

Police said further legal action in the matter is continuing.

Family says victim feared for his life

Pawan’s family told police that he had earlier expressed fear about his safety.

According to relatives, around three months ago he had called his sister and said the situation at home was not good and he feared a major conspiracy against him.

A teenage girl who was married less than a month ago died after allegedly consuming poison in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district. The incident has shocked locals after official documents revealed that the girl was only 13 years old at the time of her marriage. The incident took place in Kachnew village under the Katera police station area. According to family members, the girl, identified as Rohini, had returned to her parents’ home along with her husband when she suddenly consumed a poisonous substance, reported Dainik Bhaskar.

Soon after taking the substance, Rohini reportedly ran towards her mother in pain and said, 'Mommy, maine dawa kha li' (Mother, I have taken medicine).

Family Rushed Her to Hospital

The family immediately rushed the girl to Bangra Community Health Centre after her condition worsened. Doctors there referred her to Jhansi Medical College because of her serious condition.

Despite treatment, Rohini died during treatment at the medical college. Police later took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

The incident has triggered discussion in the village not only because of the sudden death but also due to the revelation that the girl was a minor.

Aadhaar Card Revealed Her Actual Age

After Rohini’s death, her grandfather Ramcharan initially told police and villagers that she was 18 years old. However, during official paperwork, police checked her Aadhaar card and found that she was only 13 years, 3 months and 26 days old at the time of her marriage, the Dainik Bhaskar report added.

Officials believe the family may not have revealed her actual age earlier due to fear of legal action over child marriage.

Police said no complaint has yet been filed by either side regarding the death.

Family members also could not clearly explain why the girl consumed poison. They told police that everything appeared normal before the incident.

Marriage Took Place Just 26 Days Ago

According to local residents, Rohini and her husband Rasiya had become friends some time ago. After their families learned about the friendship, both were married on April 30.

Rasiya, who is reportedly 18 years old, said Rohini was deeply affected after the death of her father around a year ago.

He claimed she often told him that she missed her father and remained emotionally disturbed because of the loss. Speaking to local officials, Rasiya himself admitted that Rohini was only 13 years old.

Police Investigation Underway

Police officials said they are waiting for the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. Officers are also examining all circumstances surrounding the case, including the issue of child marriage.

Twisha, originally from Noida, was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12. She had married Samarth Singh in December 2025 after the two reportedly met through a dating app in 2024.

Speaking to reporters and at a press conference, Giribala Singh claimed that Twisha had undergone a medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) shortly before her death.

According to Singh, Twisha discovered she was pregnant in March but did not want to continue with the pregnancy. She alleged that the family had objected to her taking abortion pills.

“The first child is very important for any family, but she never allowed us even a moment of happiness,” Singh claimed.

She further alleged that Twisha informed her husband Samarth Singh over the phone that she had taken MTP pills on May 7 while he was at court.

Singh also claimed that Twisha initially regretted beginning the process.

“When she started the first course of the MTP, she said she wanted to reverse this, which I knew was not possible,” she said.

According to Singh, the family still supported Twisha through the entire procedure despite emotional pain.

Claims about mental health and treatment

Giribala Singh also claimed that Twisha had been receiving psychiatric counselling and was on medication.

“She went for psychiatric counselling also, and medicines were prescribed to her,” Singh said while speaking about her condition.

She further alleged that Twisha’s behaviour changed frequently in the days before her death.

“She would remain stable for a day or so, but then again there would be a slight change in her condition,” Singh claimed.

The retired judge also alleged that the family noticed trembling in Twisha’s hands, which she described as withdrawal symptoms.

However, these claims have not been independently confirmed by investigators so far.

During the press conference, Giribala Singh made several allegations against Twisha’s parents. She claimed that they had pushed Twisha into the glamour world at a very young age and financially benefited from her looks and public image.

“She was their source of earnings,” Singh alleged.

According to her, Twisha herself had spoken about pressure from her family and differences between the two households.

“Twisha used to say that her family had thrust her into the glamour world from a very young age,” Singh claimed.

She also questioned why Twisha’s parents allegedly did not visit her for several months after the marriage.

“For five months, her parents never visited,” she said.

The retired judge also made remarks about Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, calling his personality “strange” and referring to his long work history in the pharmaceutical sector in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

However, she added that the matter is now sub judice and under legal examination.

Speaking about the ongoing investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma, her mother-in-law and retired judge Giribala Singh denied all allegations of dowry harassment and claimed the police acted in haste under pressure.

“Our lawyer will explain everything. Charges have not even been framed yet and the matter is still at the discharge stage,” Singh said. She alleged that the case against the family was based mainly on WhatsApp messages and accusations that “have no real basis”.

Questioning the dowry allegations, Singh said, “Why would we ask for a dowry of Rs 2 lakh when we ourselves gave them Rs 7.5 lakh? It simply makes no sense.”

She further claimed that her perception of Twisha changed after marriage. “We had believed she was very cultured and spiritual. I even used to recite Sanskrit shlokas with her. But later, she stopped praying completely,” Singh alleged.

According to her, daily rituals such as lighting incense sticks and lamps and offering prayers to the Tulsi plant were regular practices in their home, but Twisha allegedly showed no interest in them.

Singh also made fresh claims regarding Twisha’s health and lifestyle. She alleged that Twisha admitted before both her and a doctor that she had consumed a large amount of marijuana or cannabis.

“The doctor asked why she wanted to terminate the pregnancy, and she said she had consumed a lot of marijuana,” Singh claimed.

She further alleged that scented candles and fragrances were often kept in Twisha’s room to hide the smell of cannabis. However, these allegations have not been independently verified by investigators so far.

Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, has strongly denied the claims made by the in-laws.

He has accused Twisha’s husband and in-laws of dowry harassment and mental torture. According to the family, Twisha had been under severe stress after marriage.

Navnidhi Sharma also rejected claims that his daughter consumed drugs. Instead, he alleged that a drug-related case should be filed against Samarth Singh, whom he described as a “major drug addict”.

The family has also raised doubts over the circumstances of Twisha’s death and demanded a fresh post-mortem examination.

Speaking to reporters, Navnidhi Sharma requested that his daughter’s body be shifted to AIIMS Delhi for a second autopsy before decomposition begins.

He said the second post-mortem was necessary to establish the real cause of death and rule out any possible cover-up.

Reports have also claimed that Twisha had sent distress messages to a close friend shortly before her death. Details of those messages have not been officially released yet, but they have increased public interest in the investigation.

Police have also arrested two accused in connection with the incident after an encounter.

After the video gained attention online, SSP Dr Ilamaran invited Anita Devi to his office and honoured her for her bravery.

The police officer appreciated the way she resisted the robbers despite being alone at night. During the event, Anita Devi was presented with a shawl and a bouquet as a mark of respect.

Woman allegedly left home with lover

The woman, who is said to be around 25 years old, reportedly lives in the Jakhloun area. Reports said she had been married for around two-and-a-half years and is also the mother of a child.

According to local reports, she allegedly left her in-laws’ house secretly with her lover while leaving her child at home. The two reportedly travelled nearly 22 kilometres and reached the Lalitpur bus stand, where they were allegedly planning to leave for another place.

Her family members later came to know about it. Soon after getting the information, her husband and other relatives, including her mother-in-law, followed them and finally caught them at the bus stand.

Mother-in-law drags lover from bus

Eyewitnesses and videos circulating online showed the woman’s mother-in-law pulling the alleged lover out of a bus by grabbing his collar. A heated argument quickly broke out between both sides.

Soon after, the mother-in-law removed her slipper and repeatedly hit the alleged lover in public. Reports claimed she struck him 51 times in around 140 seconds. A large crowd gathered at the bus stand while many people stood watching and recording videos on their phones.

Circle Officer Rittwik Kapoor told ETV Bharat that police immediately ordered a technical examination of the footage after it surfaced on social media. During the inquiry, investigators traced the video to Paramapur village in the Chanda police station area.

Police officials said the matter is being treated seriously due to the nature of the allegations and the evidence available in the form of video footage.

Two Suspects Identified

Authorities said that two of the main suspects seen in the video have already been identified. A case has been registered under relevant legal provisions, and efforts are underway to arrest all those involved.
