A horrifying murder case from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad has shocked people after police claimed a man was brutally tortured and killed by his wife, her alleged lover, the wife’s sister and the sister’s boyfriend. The incident took place in the Dhakka area under the Majhola police station limits. According to police, the accused first tried to poison the victim, then beat him, gave him electric shocks and finally forced more poison into his body before trying to make the murder look like a suicide.

Police said the victim, identified as Pawan, suffered for nearly three hours before dying, according to a report by Aaj Tak. The case has raised serious questions about trust, family relationships and hidden domestic conflicts.

Marriage that began six years ago ended in tragedy

According to police, Pawan married Aanchal around six years ago. The couple also had a three-year-old daughter.

Neighbours and local residents said the family initially appeared normal. However, over the past few months, fights between the husband and wife had reportedly become frequent.

During investigation, police found that Aanchal allegedly developed a relationship with her relative Ankit, who is said to be her nephew in relation.

Police said Pawan had become suspicious about their closeness, which often led to arguments inside the house. Family members claimed that Pawan had repeatedly objected to the relationship, but tensions inside the home only increased.

Murder allegedly planned in advance

Police officials said the murder was not a sudden act done in anger. According to investigators, it was a planned conspiracy.

The accused allegedly included Aanchal, her alleged lover Ankit, her sister Shikha and Shikha’s boyfriend Ajay.

Investigators said Shikha had arrived at the house four days before the incident, and police suspect the murder plan was prepared during that period.

According to police, all four accused were present inside the house on the day of the crime.

Officials believe Pawan would not have been overpowered for such a long time unless several people were involved together.

Victim allegedly tortured for nearly three hours

Police investigation revealed disturbing details about the alleged torture before the murder. According to officials, the accused first attempted to poison Pawan. When he resisted, he was allegedly tied up and beaten badly.

Police said electric shocks were then given to him using wires. Investigators believe Pawan remained in pain and struggled for almost three hours.

As his condition worsened, the accused allegedly forced him to consume poison again.

After his death, police said the accused tried to present the case as a suicide.

According to investigators, the body was thrown down the staircase so it would appear that Pawan had consumed poison and then fallen.

Police became suspicious after reaching the spot

The incident initially spread in the area as a suspected suicide case.

Neighbours said they noticed some movement and disturbance inside the house at night, but nobody realised such a major crime was happening inside.

Soon afterwards, news spread that Pawan had allegedly consumed poison and fallen from the stairs. People gathered outside the house while family members appeared to be crying.

However, police officers who reached the scene felt something was suspicious from the beginning. According to officials, Pawan’s body had several injury marks that did not match the story of a simple fall after consuming poison.

The post-mortem report also reportedly showed signs of assault and other serious injuries.

After this, police began questioning family members and nearby residents.

Statements kept changing during questioning

Police said the accused persons gave inconsistent statements during questioning. Investigators also checked mobile call records, chats and technical evidence, which further increased suspicion.

According to police, when the accused were questioned strictly, the entire alleged conspiracy came out.

Senior Superintendent of Police Satpal said police found that Pawan was allegedly murdered by his wife Aanchal, her alleged lover Ankit, sister Shikha and Shikha’s boyfriend Ajay.

All four accused have now been arrested and presented before a court.

Police said further legal action in the matter is continuing.

Family says victim feared for his life

Pawan’s family told police that he had earlier expressed fear about his safety.

According to relatives, around three months ago he had called his sister and said the situation at home was not good and he feared a major conspiracy against him.

At that time, the family reportedly treated the matter as a normal domestic dispute and did not take it very seriously.

Now, relatives say they regret not understanding the seriousness of his fears earlier.

Child left without parents

The case has also drawn attention because of the couple’s three-year-old daughter. Residents in the area said the child has now lost her father while her mother has landed in jail.

Family members said their biggest concern now is the future of the young girl.

Many people in the locality have expressed shock that such a brutal crime could happen inside a family home. Locals are especially disturbed by the allegation that a relationship within the extended family became the reason behind the murder conspiracy.

Family travelling for wedding

The people in the auto were travelling from Delhi to attend a wedding in their native village. The family was going to Sadrawan village in Bichpuri to attend the wedding of a cousin.

The driver, Neam Singh (36), was travelling with his wife Kanta (30) and three sons, Shivam (15), Prashant (12), and Nikhil (10). They had started their journey early on Sunday at around 4 am.

The family had been living in Delhi’s Saket area for several years. Neam Singh worked as an auto driver in Delhi. They were heading to attend wedding ceremonies scheduled for 12 May and 14 May.

How the accident happened

Police said the accident occurred while the auto was trying to overtake a bike. During the attempt, the vehicle lost balance and one of its wheels lifted off the road.

At that moment, a 108 ambulance belonging to the health department was coming from the opposite direction. The auto crashed into the ambulance. The front part of the ambulance got stuck in the auto, and the auto was dragged for nearly 20 metres.

A 58-second CCTV video of the crash has gone viral. It shows vehicles moving on the road before the auto suddenly loses control and collides with the ambulance. The auto driver and passengers are seen falling onto the road.

Casualties and injuries

The accident led to three deaths. Neam Singh and his 15-year-old son Shivam died at the spot. Another son, Nikhil, who was seriously injured, later died during treatment at SN Hospital in the evening.

Kanta and her son Prashant were injured. They were first taken to the Community Health Centre in Bichpuri and then referred to SN Medical College for further treatment.

Witnesses said the scene was very disturbing. Blood was seen on the road, and bystanders rushed to help.

Allegation against ambulance driver

Several local residents questioned the behaviour of the ambulance driver. They claimed that instead of helping the injured, the driver left the scene with the ambulance.

The ambulance was reportedly part of the government’s 108 emergency service. After receiving information, officials said immediate action was taken.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Arun Srivastava said that the ambulance driver has been removed from duty. He added that a committee has been formed to investigate the incident. Action will be taken based on the committee’s report.

Police have also started a separate investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Syed Ali Abbas confirmed that the ambulance was involved in the crash and said efforts are being made to trace the driver.

Police response and investigation

Police officials said the accident was reported quickly. A nearby UP-112 emergency vehicle reached the spot within minutes and helped shift the injured to hospital.

The bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination. Police said a case will be registered after receiving a complaint from the family.

Officers are using CCTV footage to identify the exact ambulance involved. They are also checking whether traffic rules were followed.

Local residents expressed shock over the incident. Many demanded strict action against anyone found responsible. They said emergency vehicles should help victims first, not leave the site. The accident has raised concerns about road safety and driving discipline on busy roads in the area.

Upset over the situation and unable to contact him, she decided to climb the water tank in anger and frustration, officials said. The woman remained on top of the tank for several hours and allegedly threatened to jump if her demands were not heard.

During the incident, food was also sent up to her while police teams continued efforts to convince her to come down safely.

Police and officials counsel woman for hours

After receiving information about the incident, police teams immediately rushed to the spot.

The rescue and counselling operation was led by Sub-Inspector Gurpreet Kaur and Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar Yadav.

Senior police officials, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police and the Gomtinagar Station House Officer, also reached the location and spoke to the woman for several hours.

Police said they continuously tried to calm her down and assure her that help would be provided.

Meanwhile, officials contacted her husband and asked him to come to the spot as part of the counselling efforts.

Woman brought down safely after four hours

After nearly four hours of counselling and rescue efforts, police and administration officials finally managed to persuade the woman to come down safely from the tank.

Police later sent the woman to a hospital for medical examination and care. Officials said further legal proceedings are underway.

Viral video sparks attention online

The controversy began after a video circulated online showing Tripathi riding a Bullet motorcycle without a helmet. Soon after the clip spread on social media, the MLA publicly admitted that he had violated traffic regulations.

In his post on X, Tripathi explained that the incident happened after a BJP worker requested him to take a short ride on a newly purchased motorcycle.

According to the MLA, he was having tea at his residence on Sunday evening when party worker Anuj Pramod Mani arrived with the new bike and requested him to “inaugurate” it by taking it for a ride.

Tripathi said he could not refuse the request because of the worker’s affectionate insistence.

MLA asks police to issue challan

Instead of ignoring the issue after the video went viral, the BJP MLA contacted the police himself and requested action.

In his X post, Tripathi wrote that he had made the mistake of riding the motorcycle without a helmet and asked Deoria Police to issue him a challan according to traffic rules.

He said police later fined him Rs 1,000, which he deposited immediately.

The MLA thanked Deoria Police for taking action against him under the law.

A violent thundersquall swept across Uttar Pradesh, killing at least 104 people in Bhadohi, Fatehpur, Budaun, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra. Strong winds, lightning, and heavy rain caused widespread damage. The storm was triggered by Western Disturbances.

A violent thundersquall swept across parts of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, causing widespread destruction and heavy loss of life. According to officials, at least 104 people have died due to relentless rain, lightning, and strong thunderstorms over the past 36 to 48 hours.

The storm hit five districts badly: Bhadohi, Fatehpur, Budaun, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra. Many homes were damaged, trees were uprooted, and several areas lost mobile network service. The tragedy has left families in shock across the state.

A thundersquall is not a normal rain shower. It is a fast-moving and violent storm. It forms when very hot air near the ground rises quickly and meets cooler air above. This process is called convection, which simply means hot air going up.

In May, temperatures in north India often cross 40 degrees Celsius. The land becomes extremely hot. This hot air rises rapidly and pulls in moist air from other directions. When these air masses meet, they form tall storm clouds called cumulonimbus clouds. These clouds can bring lightning, hail, heavy rain, and very strong winds.

When such clouds collapse, cold air rushes down to the ground. This downward rush is called a downdraft. It spreads out quickly and can turn into powerful winds. In dust-prone areas, it can create dangerous dust storms, locally known as “andhi.”

Meteorologists say the storm was triggered by atmospheric systems over the region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had flagged a Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and Jammu. Another cyclonic circulation was present over south Haryana and northwest Uttar Pradesh.

A Western Disturbance is a low-pressure system that starts near the Mediterranean Sea and moves east through Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan before reaching India. It is driven by westerly winds.

These systems carry moisture from the Mediterranean, Caspian Sea, and Black Sea. When they meet the already hot air over north India in April and May, they can trigger severe thunderstorms.

In the 24 hours before Wednesday’s event, IMD had already recorded thunderstorms with wind speeds between 50 and 100 km/h in parts of Uttar Pradesh. The atmosphere was already unstable.

Why May Is Dangerous In Uttar Pradesh

March to May is called the pre-monsoon season. During this time, the land heats up strongly, but the monsoon has not yet arrived to cool and stabilise the air.

Because of this, the temperature difference between the hot ground and cooler upper air becomes very high. This creates strong instability. Any trigger, such as a Western Disturbance or cyclonic circulation, can start a severe storm.

Research published in scientific journals explains that dust storms form when moist winds from one direction collide with dry winds from desert regions. This collision creates strong convection and powerful downdrafts.

The position of the upper-level jet stream, a fast-moving wind high in the sky, also guides these storms and affects their strength.

Studies confirm that pre-monsoon thunderstorms in Uttar Pradesh and nearby Himalayan regions are linked to this heat-driven instability.

Experts say that climate change is increasing the intensity of such storms. Higher temperatures mean more energy in the atmosphere. This leads to stronger convection, faster storm formation, and more powerful downdrafts.

Western Disturbances are now seen throughout the year, not just in winter. When they overlap with high summer heat, they can produce extreme weather.

For densely populated areas like the Indo-Gangetic Plain, where many homes are made of mud and light materials, this combination can be deadly.

Lightning And Its Impact

Lightning is a natural part of these storms. Inside tall cumulonimbus clouds, ice particles and water droplets collide. This creates electrical charges. The top of the cloud becomes positively charged, and the bottom becomes negatively charged.

When the charge difference becomes very large, it is released as lightning. This can strike the ground or travel between clouds.

Lightning has caused many deaths during this event.

Bhadohi was the worst affected district. Trees were uprooted within seconds. Mud walls collapsed while families were taking shelter. Entire areas lost mobile network signals.

Reports from 19 districts, including Barabanki, Bahraich, Kanpur Dehat, Basti, Sambhal, Hardoi, and Unnao, mention deaths, livestock loss, and crop damage.

So far, 130 livestock animals (large and small) have died, and 98 houses have been damaged.

In several cases in Bhadohi, Budaun, and Fatehpur, people died while standing under trees or inside mud houses during the storm. Both are very dangerous places during thunderstorms.

In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a young man named Nanha Miyan was standing near a tin shed during strong winds. When the storm became stronger, the tin roof was lifted. He was carried into the air with it.

The tin sheet fell to the ground, but he was thrown down later. He suffered serious injuries. Both his hands and legs are broken. He is now admitted to hospital.

Officials remind people to stay indoors during storms. It is unsafe to stand under trees, near walls, or in open fields. Many deaths in this event happened because people sought shelter under trees or in weak structures.

Teacher identified as Gautam Patel

Police identified the accused as Gautam Patel. Shockingly, he works as a private school teacher.

Aunt rushed to save her

Officials believe the family may not have revealed her actual age earlier due to fear of legal action over child marriage.

She further alleged that Twisha informed her husband Samarth Singh over the phone that she had taken MTP pills on May 7 while he was at court.

Singh also claimed that Twisha initially regretted beginning the process.

“When she started the first course of the MTP, she said she wanted to reverse this, which I knew was not possible,” she said.

According to Singh, the family still supported Twisha through the entire procedure despite emotional pain.

Claims about mental health and treatment

Giribala Singh also claimed that Twisha had been receiving psychiatric counselling and was on medication.

“She went for psychiatric counselling also, and medicines were prescribed to her,” Singh said while speaking about her condition.

She further alleged that Twisha’s behaviour changed frequently in the days before her death.

“She would remain stable for a day or so, but then again there would be a slight change in her condition,” Singh claimed.

The retired judge also alleged that the family noticed trembling in Twisha’s hands, which she described as withdrawal symptoms.

However, these claims have not been independently confirmed by investigators so far.

During the press conference, Giribala Singh made several allegations against Twisha’s parents. She claimed that they had pushed Twisha into the glamour world at a very young age and financially benefited from her looks and public image.

“She was their source of earnings,” Singh alleged.

According to her, Twisha herself had spoken about pressure from her family and differences between the two households.

“Twisha used to say that her family had thrust her into the glamour world from a very young age,” Singh claimed.

She also questioned why Twisha’s parents allegedly did not visit her for several months after the marriage.

“For five months, her parents never visited,” she said.

The retired judge also made remarks about Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, calling his personality “strange” and referring to his long work history in the pharmaceutical sector in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

However, she added that the matter is now sub judice and under legal examination.

Speaking about the ongoing investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma, her mother-in-law and retired judge Giribala Singh denied all allegations of dowry harassment and claimed the police acted in haste under pressure.

She further claimed that her perception of Twisha changed after marriage. “We had believed she was very cultured and spiritual. I even used to recite Sanskrit shlokas with her. But later, she stopped praying completely,” Singh alleged.

According to her, daily rituals such as lighting incense sticks and lamps and offering prayers to the Tulsi plant were regular practices in their home, but Twisha allegedly showed no interest in them.

Singh also made fresh claims regarding Twisha’s health and lifestyle. She alleged that Twisha admitted before both her and a doctor that she had consumed a large amount of marijuana or cannabis.

“The doctor asked why she wanted to terminate the pregnancy, and she said she had consumed a lot of marijuana,” Singh claimed.

She further alleged that scented candles and fragrances were often kept in Twisha’s room to hide the smell of cannabis. However, these allegations have not been independently verified by investigators so far.

Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, has strongly denied the claims made by the in-laws.

He has accused Twisha’s husband and in-laws of dowry harassment and mental torture. According to the family, Twisha had been under severe stress after marriage.

Navnidhi Sharma also rejected claims that his daughter consumed drugs. Instead, he alleged that a drug-related case should be filed against Samarth Singh, whom he described as a “major drug addict”.

According to local reports, she allegedly left her in-laws’ house secretly with her lover while leaving her child at home. The two reportedly travelled nearly 22 kilometres and reached the Lalitpur bus stand, where they were allegedly planning to leave for another place.

In the video, Trivedi recalled arriving in Noida in 2012 with fear and uncertainty about his future. At the time, he did not even know whether he would find a job.

Over the years, however, his career grew steadily. According to Trivedi, he started as a Junior Graphic Designer and later became a Creative Head.

He also spoke about how much his lifestyle changed during those years. From walking everywhere on foot, he eventually reached a stage where he owned an SUV. He said he moved from designing advertising hoardings to even appearing on them.

Despite his professional achievements, Trivedi admitted that city life slowly made him feel emotionally disconnected.

He also said relationships in large cities often become based more on convenience than emotional closeness.

One moment in particular deeply affected him. Trivedi recalled speaking to a falooda seller and asking what he would do first if he suddenly became rich.

The vendor replied, “I’ll return to my village.”

According to Trivedi, that answer changed his thinking completely. He realised that beyond money and success, many people simply want peace, family and familiar surroundings.
