The deceased has been identified as Syed Muzammil Hashmi. He had been undergoing treatment in hospital since the attack and was in critical condition until his death.

According to police, the trouble started on February 17. A man allegedly called another person to his house to 'discuss an issue about using an email account', as reported by NDTV. During the meeting, those who arrived were reportedly beaten by a group of people. They managed to escape and informed others about the assault.

After learning about the incident, Muzammil, along with his friends, went to the same house to question those involved in the earlier attack on his brother.

Investigators said Muzammil was then attacked by a group of men, some of whom are alleged to be local leaders. He was beaten with iron rods and sticks, which caused severe injuries. Police also said that the attackers damaged the vehicles used by Muzammil and his friends.

Muzammil and two others were rushed to hospital. While the other injured persons survived, Muzammil remained critical and later died during treatment on Sunday.

Following his death, police upgraded the case from attempt to murder to murder under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Officials confirmed that a detailed investigation is in progress.

Worried by this, his brother rushed to his apartment. When Srisai did not respond to calls, he broke open the door.

He found Srisai lying in a pool of blood.

Hospital and police findings

Srisai was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. According to police, he is suspected to have consumed painkiller tablets and later used a knife to harm himself.

The accused, a resident of Narsingi, was taken into custody by the Gachibowli police on Sunday. Two separate cases were registered against him. His white Mercedes-Benz car with registration number TS 07 EX 5556 was seized. He was produced before a magistrate. Further investigation is continuing.

The first complaint was filed at about 12.30 p.m. by Rahul Kamaraju. He told police he was driving from Narsingi towards Kukatpally when the Mercedes allegedly rammed his car from behind at Nanakramguda, according to a report by the Hindu.

Due to the impact, Rahul lost control of his vehicle. His car hit a footpath divider and was damaged. According to police, the Mercedes driver fled the spot immediately and drove towards the Outer Ring Road near Gachibowli.

A traffic Home Guard noticed the fleeing vehicle and alerted the control room through a wireless message. Police then began tracking the car.

A second complaint was registered at about 2 p.m. by traffic constable E. Narsimhulu of Gachibowli Traffic Police. He said he received wireless instructions to intercept the same vehicle involved in the earlier crash while he was on duty at the IIIT Junction near International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad.

At around 10.50 a.m., the constable spotted the car and signalled the driver to stop. Police said the vehicle slowed down briefly but then suddenly accelerated towards him. The constable fell onto the bonnet of the car.

Despite knowing that the constable was on the bonnet, the driver allegedly continued to drive in a rash and dangerous manner. Other motorists stepped in and blocked the vehicle, forcing it to stop.

Police collected CCTV footage showing the car being driven recklessly while the constable was on the bonnet. A breath analyser test conducted after the incident showed a blood alcohol level of 160 mg per 100 ml.

Officials said this is far above the legal limit permitted under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Based on the evidence, police arrested the accused and registered cases related to rash driving, endangering life, and drunk driving.

Investigation continues

Police officials said both complaints are being investigated together. Statements from witnesses and video evidence are being examined. Authorities also stressed the dangers of drunk driving and warned that strict action will be taken in such cases.

The vehicle then rammed into a motorcycle carrying two students. The impact was so strong that the victims were dragged for nearly 100 metres before the car overturned.

What followed, however, was not just shock and sympathy. The man also faced widespread trolling and harsh criticism for choosing to post on Reddit instead of calling the police immediately.

The incident took place around 1:30 am on January 6 in Amberpet, near the Central Police Lines (CPL), an area allegedly known for a heavy police presence. The user shared a detailed account of what he said happened, along with later edits explaining his actions and state of mind after the assault.

According to the post, the user had placed a food order through Swiggy around 1:30 am. Before reaching his location, the delivery agent called him twice asking for the delivery OTP. The user said he refused to share the OTP over the phone, which is standard safety advice given by food delivery platforms.

When the delivery agents arrived, the user shared the OTP in person. At that point, he noticed what he felt was odd behaviour. The delivery agents allegedly pretended that the name on the order was incorrect. The user later speculated that this may have been a way for them to pause, look around, and check if anyone else was present on the street.

One of the men, who was riding the moped, handed over the food. As the user thanked them and turned away, the second man, who was sitting behind on the vehicle, suddenly attacked him from behind.

'Did you think we were going to run away?'

In his Reddit post, the user said the attacker grabbed him and made a mocking remark, saying, “Did you think we were going to run away with your food?” Immediately after this, the man allegedly started punching him repeatedly on the face.

The user claimed that the delivery agent who handed over the food tried to stop his partner, but failed. The assault continued until the attacker landed five to six punches and then kicked the user, causing him to fall to the ground.

While he was on the ground, the food packet fell. The two men then picked up the food and fled the scene on their moped. The user said he was left with visible bruises on his face and was in pain and shock.

He added that he had ordered food late at night for years in different cities but had never experienced anything like this before.

Immediate aftermath: Pain, shock and confusion

Soon after posting, the user began receiving hundreds of comments. Many people urged him to immediately call the police by dialling 100. Others told him to go to a hospital, especially as he said he felt disoriented and suspected he might have a concussion.

He said he was injured, in pain, and not in a mental state to deal with police procedures in the middle of the night. He also questioned what immediate action the police could take when he only had a delivery agent’s name and order ID.

He said he chose to tend to his injuries first, get some rest, and approach the police in the morning.

Police said the incident came to light on February 24 after a Dial 100 call was received around 12 noon reporting the suspicious death of an infant at Speed Sunrally (Sanarelli) Apartments near the Outer Ring Road in Baurampet. A police team rushed to the location immediately.

According to Shankar Reddy, officers found disturbing signs at the scene. The baby’s mouth had been stuffed with cloth and his legs were tied with rope. Officials said the child died due to injuries.

Police identified the infant as Surya, the son of migrant workers Rajendra Adivasi and Mamata Ahirwar. The couple had moved from Nowgaon to Hyderabad in search of work. Rajendra had been working as a labourer at the under-construction apartment complex for about a month. The family lived in a temporary room at the site.

On Tuesday morning, Rajendra left for work, leaving the baby with Mamata. He told police that when he returned around 11 am, he saw his wife near a fire pit and found the infant being burnt. He pushed her aside but discovered that the baby had already died.

During questioning, investigators learned that the baby had been crying continuously for several days. Police suspect the mother lost her temper. She allegedly stuffed cloth into the infant’s mouth to silence him and tied his legs. After the child died, she is suspected to have placed the body in a burning stove or fire pit.

Officials are examining whether the mother was facing mental health issues at the time. Police have registered a case and both parents are currently in custody. Authorities said all possible angles, including domestic stress and health-related factors, are being investigated.

Post-mortem and ongoing investigation

The infant’s body has been shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police said further investigation is underway to establish the full sequence of events and confirm responsibility.

The shocking nature of the case has raised serious concern among locals and authorities.

He made the remark on Tuesday while responding to the tragic crash near Chevella in Ranga Reddy district that left 19 people dead and over 30 injured on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, Reddy said, “Nowadays, if the roads are in bad condition, fewer accidents happen because vehicles move slowly. The better the roads, the bigger and more frequent the accidents.” He added that road design must focus on safety and not only on smooth travel.

His remarks drew criticism with many questioning the logic behind such remarks while others said that the 'leader was completely clueless about infrastructure and development, yet experts in nonsense and staying in power'.

MP blames previous government for delay

Reddy, who represents Chevella in Parliament, blamed the earlier Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government for delaying land acquisition for the highway project. He claimed the state’s inaction had delayed vital safety improvements. “The BRS government did not complete land acquisition. Why? Is it real estate hunger?” he asked. Reddy said the Hyderabad-Bijapur highway, which passes through Manneguda and Parigi, was originally built during the Nizam’s era and had not been upgraded properly for decades. He added that he had raised the issue with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in 2016, following which the road was notified as a national highway. However, he said, the acquisition of land for widening the highway was stalled for nearly five years.

Suggestions for safer road planning

Reddy also highlighted how several banyan trees along the highway could have been translocated instead of blocking road widening. He said straightening the route could have reduced distance and improved visibility, making it safer for vehicles. He mentioned that earlier cases filed before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had delayed work but have now been resolved, allowing construction to resume in some parts.

19 killed in Chevella bus accident

The accident occurred when a gravel-laden tipper lorry collided head-on with a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus on the Hyderabad–Bijapur highway near Mirjaguda in Chevella mandal. According to Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, the lorry was travelling in the wrong direction when it struck the bus carrying about 60 passengers. Nineteen people, including both drivers, were killed instantly, and around 20 others suffered injuries. Mohanty said, “The lorry was carrying construction chips when it hit the bus. As of now, 19 people have died and 20 people are injured. They are being treated at different hospitals. We have identified most of the bodies and post-mortems are underway.”

Condolences from President and Prime Minister

President Droupadi Murmu expressed deep grief over the tragedy, calling it 'deeply unfortunate'. In a post on X, she said, “The loss of many lives in a bus accident in Ranga Reddy district in Telangana is deeply unfortunate. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured passengers.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended condolences and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each for those injured, from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

A shocking case from Warangal district in Telangana has triggered anger and protests. A 21-year-old tribal woman was found dead on Wednesday night in her village. She was a resident of AK Tanda in Rayaparthi mandal. Her family says her death is not a suicide but a planned crime.

Family alleges gang rape and murder

The victim’s relatives have accused four youths from Ravuru Tanda of gang rape and murder. They claim the men sexually assaulted her and later hanged her body to make it look like suicide, as reported by ABP News.

Family members said the woman had severe injuries and heavy bleeding. These signs raised serious doubts about the suicide claim.

Her body has been shifted to a mortuary in Vardhannapet for a postmortem to find the exact cause of death.
