An electric car, traveling at high speed from the Vivekananda Nagar Arch towards Alwyn Colony, collided with another cars and several two-wheelers before crashing into the Eruvaka Tiffin Center. This incident… pic.twitter.com/v39v7s6InO

— @Coreena Enet Suares (@CoreenaSuares2) May 21, 2026

Soon after the crash, locals gathered at the spot while police teams arrived to control traffic and begin an investigation.

The damaged vehicles were later removed from the road to clear congestion.

Police officials confirmed that the driver lost control of the vehicle while travelling towards Allwyn Colony.

However, officials have not yet confirmed the exact reason behind the accident.

An investigation is currently underway to determine whether the crash happened because of overspeeding, driver panic, distraction or technical error.

No official details have yet been released about the identity of the driver or whether any charges have been filed.

The viral video triggered strong reactions online, with many social media users debating what may have caused the accident.

Some users believed the driver may have accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal, which is often discussed in panic situations involving automatic cars and electric vehicles.

One user wrote, “Looks like driver got confused between accelerator pedal and brake pedal.”

Another commented, “The driver distracted at speed breaker instead of brake he kicked accelerator.”

Several people also suggested that the driver may have been new to driving an electric vehicle.

An online user wrote, “It is an EV, probably driver is new to driving EV as it is having instant torque.”

Another person said, “Looks like the driver is new to EV.”

Questions raised over driving skills

The incident also started a wider discussion about driving standards and licence checks.

Many users criticised the quality of driving tests and demanded stricter licence verification.

One person wrote, “Affordability of car doesn’t guarantee driving skills.”

Another user blamed poor licence screening systems and wrote that roads were becoming unsafe because of untrained drivers.

Some users even demanded action against officials responsible for issuing driving licences without proper testing.

Others questioned whether tinted windows may have affected visibility during driving.

Several social media users argued that the car may not actually have been travelling at very high speed.

Instead, they suggested the driver may have panicked near a speed breaker and lost control after pressing the wrong pedal.

A few users sympathised with the driver, saying panic reactions are common during stressful moments on crowded roads.

However, others demanded strict punishment, arguing that reckless driving puts innocent lives at risk.

Electric vehicles are becoming more common across Indian cities, but experts often say new drivers need proper understanding of how EV acceleration and automatic systems work.

At the same time, citizens online pointed out that busy roads, panic driving, distraction and lack of proper driving discipline continue to cause accidents in major cities.

Fortunately, this incident did not lead to any major casualties.

India is likely to receive widespread pre-monsoon rainfall between May 29 and June 5, bringing possible relief from severe heatwave conditions. The southwest monsoon is still delayed over Kerala due to weak cloud activity.

After days of intense heat across large parts of the country, India may finally get some relief as pre-monsoon rainfall is expected to spread across nearly 80 to 90 percent of the country between May 29 and June 5. The expected rain becomes important as the southwest monsoon has still not reached Kerala, even though the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier predicted its arrival around May 26.

A great start to the monsoon season is expected, with widespread pre-monsoon thunderstorms covering almost 80-90% of the Indian subcontinent from May 29 to June 5. This much-awaited rainfall will help reduce the summer intensity while we wait for the monsoon to progress. Image:… pic.twitter.com/0yyPqRFVfM

— All India Weather (@allindiaweather) May 26, 2026

Weather experts said weak cloud activity over the south-central Arabian Sea has slowed the monsoon’s progress. A cyclonic circulation in the region has reduced moisture and weakened rain-bearing clouds near Kerala. However, conditions are likely to improve within the next two to three days.

For the monsoon to officially enter Kerala, at least 14 selected weather stations in the state must receive 2.5 mm rainfall for two continuous days. So far, those conditions have not been fully met.

Bear with the heat till tomorrow afternoon. Summer storms outbreak to begin in north & central #India from Thursday evening onwards to bring strong Duststorm along with moderate to heavy thundershowers, conditions will remain active throughout the weekend. Day temperatures to… pic.twitter.com/Svp2cZcWok

— Weatherman Navdeep Dahiya (@navdeepdahiya55) May 27, 2026

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) has also released a fresh rainfall outlook for the next 15 days. According to its forecast maps, heavy rain activity is likely over south India, eastern states, the northeast and regions near the Bay of Bengal during the coming week.

The forecast is based on satellite observations along with oceanic and atmospheric data.

While rain may soon bring relief to many regions, severe heat continues to affect northwestern, central and eastern parts of India.

Uttar Pradesh’s Banda remained the hottest city in the country on Tuesday with a maximum temperature of 47.4°C. It was the ninth straight day that the temperature crossed 47°C in the district.

Current temperatures as a dangerous heatwave continues to intensify across parts of India, with temperatures soaring to extreme levels:• Banda, Uttar Pradesh 47°C (116.6°F)• Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh 46°C (114.8°F)• Fatehabad, Haryana 46°C (114.8°F)• Sri Ganganagar,… pic.twitter.com/Gsz3wE2tCk

— Weather Monitor (@WeatherMonitors) May 27, 2026

Several other cities in Uttar Pradesh also recorded extreme temperatures. Bikaner and Phalodi both recorded 46°C, while Jaisalmer touched 45.6°C. Jaipur also remained hot at 43.2°C.

Amid severe heatwave conditions, PM Modi urged citizens to take precautions and stay hydrated.

Different parts of India are witnessing soaring temperatures and the challenges that come with it. The bus does not appear to be travelling at a very high speed, but it continues moving after the impact and runs over the pedestrian.

The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

'I Just Ran': Australian Woman's Chilling Italy Kidnapping Escape Story Shocks Travellers (WATCH)

Police begin investigation

According to local residents, the victim appeared to be looking at his mobile phone while crossing the road, although investigators are yet to officially confirm whether distraction contributed to the accident.

Police have detained the APSRTC bus driver for questioning.

Officials said they are examining CCTV footage and recording statements from eyewitnesses to determine exactly how the incident occurred and whether there was any negligence on the part of the driver.

The investigation is ongoing.

Jaipur Woman's Murder: Viral Video of Accused Daughter Sparks Outrage (WATCH)

Video triggers road safety debate

The viral video has prompted many social media users to discuss the importance of staying alert while walking in crowded transport hubs and busy traffic areas.

Some viewers questioned whether the pedestrian was distracted by his phone, while others felt the bus driver may not have seen him because of a possible blind spot. A few users also urged people not to jump to conclusions until the police complete their investigation.

The heartbreaking accident has served as a reminder that both pedestrians and drivers must remain fully attentive on the road, as even a brief moment of distraction can have irreversible consequences.

Woman Helps Thirsty Monkeys Drink Water, Viral Video Wins Hearts Online

N Marie Wilson, a first-time MLA from RK Nagar, has been appointed Finance Minister in CM Vijay’s expanded Tamil Nadu Cabinet. Wilson joined TVK in 2025 and won the 2026 Assembly election by defeating DMK’s J. John Ebenezer by nearly 50,000 votes.

Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has announced a major Cabinet expansion, and one name that has quickly drawn attention is N. Marie Wilson. The first-time MLA from Radhakrishnan Nagar has now been given one of the most important positions in the state government, the Finance portfolio.

With the latest Cabinet expansion on May 21, the strength of the Tamil Nadu Ministry rose to 33 Ministers. While several senior leaders received key departments, Marie Wilson’s appointment as Finance Minister stood out because he entered electoral politics only recently and won his first election in 2026.

His rise from educationist to Finance Minister within a short period reflects the changing political landscape in Tamil Nadu under Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government.

Chief Minister Vijay retained major portfolios including Home, Police, Municipal Administration and Urban Water Supply.

He also took charge of Special Initiatives, Poverty Alleviation and Rural Indebtedness, departments earlier handled by Minister N. Anand.

Meanwhile, Marie Wilson was given responsibility for:

Finance Pensions and Pensionary Benefits Planning and Development

Reacting to the appointment, Wilson thanked both the Chief Minister and the people of RK Nagar for supporting him.

“I would like to thank the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for giving me this opportunity and to the RK Nagar constituency people for voting for me,” he said while speaking to ANI.

“I am looking forward to the portfolio and working for the people,” he added.

N Marie Wilson is an Indian politician and educationist from Tamil Nadu.

He is associated with the Jeppiaar group of educational institutions, one of the well-known private education groups in the state.

Wilson was born around 1979 and comes from Chennai. His father’s name is Nestore.

Before entering politics, Wilson built his career mainly in the education sector.

Academically, he holds a B.Tech degree and an MBA. He later completed a PhD in Management Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in 2012.

His educational background and administrative experience in institutions are believed to have played a role in his rise within TVK.

Entry into politics through TVK

Wilson officially joined TVK on June 9, 2025.

He joined the party along with several other notable names, including former IRS officer K.G. Arunraj, former judicial officer C. Subash and former MLAs R. Rajalakshmi, S. David Selvan and Dr. A. Sridharan.

His political entry also marked the first major electoral involvement of the Jeppiaar family in many years.

Earlier, Dr. Jeppiaar had contested the 1989 Tamil Nadu Assembly election from T Nagar under the Janaki faction, although he was not elected.

After joining TVK, Wilson quickly became active in party events and organisational work.

In November 2025, TVK chief Vijay addressed around 2,000 party workers at the Jeppiaar Institute of Technology campus during a closed-door meeting. The event gained attention because it was one of the party’s major internal meetings after the Karur stampede incident in September 2025.

Victory from RK Nagar

Wilson received his biggest political breakthrough when TVK announced him as the party’s candidate from Radhakrishnan Nagar during the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Dr.Marie Wilson RK.Nagar TVK vetpalar pic.twitter.com/DGX42mfe7T

— (@TVK_Dinshu) May 5, 2026

Polling took place on April 23, 2026.

On May 4, Wilson was declared elected after defeating sitting MLA J. John Ebenezer of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam by a margin of 49,668 votes.

He secured 97,800 votes in the constituency.

The victory was seen as significant because RK Nagar has remained one of Chennai’s politically important constituencies over the years.

Tamil Nadu witnessed one of its biggest political shifts in recent decades after actor-turned-politician Vijay led TVK to victory in the Assembly elections.

The party emerged as the single largest party by winning 108 seats, ending the long-standing political dominance of the DMK and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

During his swearing-in speech, Vijay described the result as the beginning of “a new era of real, secular and social justice.”

The Cabinet formation has since drawn national attention because of the inclusion of several first-time MLAs and younger faces.

Sengottaiyan gets Revenue portfolio

Apart from Marie Wilson, senior TVK leader KA Sengottaiyan was assigned the Revenue department.

His responsibilities include Revenue Administration, Disaster Management, Deputy Collectors, Boodhan, Gramadhan and Legislative Assembly matters.

The Cabinet also reassigned the Women Welfare portfolio.

K Jegadeshwari has now been designated Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, taking over responsibilities that were earlier handled by the Chief Minister’s office.

Tamil Nadu gets dedicated AI ministry

One of the other major decisions by the Vijay government was the creation of a dedicated Artificial Intelligence portfolio.

TVK MLA Kumar R from Velachery was appointed Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology and Digital Services.

With this move, Tamil Nadu became the second Indian state after Kerala to create a separate AI ministry.

The decision reflects increasing focus among Indian states on digital governance and emerging technologies.

As Finance Minister, Marie Wilson will now handle one of the most challenging departments in the Tamil Nadu government.

He will oversee state finances, development planning and pension-related matters at a time when expectations from the new government remain extremely high.

For many observers, his appointment also signals Vijay’s attempt to bring professionals and educated administrators into governance alongside experienced political leaders.

Whether Wilson succeeds in the role will become clearer in the coming months, but his rise from educationist to Finance Minister has already made him one of the most closely watched faces in Tamil Nadu’s new political era.

(With inputs from agencies)

The death of a 31-year-old woman in Kerala's Pathanamthitta district has sparked a detailed police investigation after suspicious circumstances emerged at the scene. The woman, identified as Shehna, was found hanging inside her house in Adoor, while her male friend was reportedly present in the home. Police have taken the man into custody for questioning as they continue to examine whether the case involves suicide, abetment to suicide or any other offence.

Man Refuses to Get up From Train Seat Despite Repeated Requests, Viral Video Ignites Civic Sense Debate (WATCH)

Woman found hanging inside her home

The incident came to light on Monday when Shehna, a resident of Kottamukal near Adoor, was found hanging from a staircase railing using a shawl. She was living separately from her husband and was the mother of one child.

Police reached the house after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination. Officers said they became suspicious after noticing bloodstains on the body and at the scene, prompting them to detain the man who was inside the house at the time.

Viral Garib Rath Tragedy Fuels Calls for Better Medical Emergency Response on Indian trains

Friend questioned over argument

According to police, the man, a resident of Ezhamkulam near Adoor and a friend of Shehna, told investigators that the two had argued before the incident. The dispute was reportedly linked to a photograph stored on his mobile phone.

During questioning, he allegedly admitted that he slapped Shehna and grabbed her by the neck during the argument. He later claimed that he remained inside another room and, after hearing a sound, found her hanging.

Police have not accepted his version as the final account and are continuing their investigation.

Family suspects foul play

Shehna's relatives have rejected the claim that she died by suicide and have demanded a thorough investigation. The post quickly went viral and attracted hundreds of reactions from people across the country.

Many users defend the vendor and rava dosa style

While some viewers agreed with the criticism, a large number of users defended the vendor and said the preparation shown in the clip was normal for rava dosa.

Several people pointed out that rava dosa batter is usually thin and spread differently from regular dosa batter.

One user wrote, 'Rava dosa is made like this'.

Another person said, “This is how crispy OG rava dosa can be made. Others said gloves should be compulsory for street food vendors.

One user wrote, “Totally unhygienic.”

Another commented, “Won’t feel like eating anything that’s coming out of a plastic mug.”

A user said hygiene and aesthetics matter and explained why he avoids eating street food.

Others, however, argued that small vendors should not be attacked online over normal cooking practices.

One user said, “Have some respect and empathy towards small vendors.”

Another added that the post looked like “bait” made only to attract attention and online arguments.

Debate over food and social media reactions

The viral discussion also turned into a larger debate about food culture, regional tastes and social media outrage.

Some users joked about how dosa has become “the most abused food” because of modern experiments involving cheese, sauces, chocolates and fizzy drinks.

Others argued that traditional foods evolve over time and that street vendors often create new versions based on local tastes.

The discussion also highlighted how strongly people feel about regional dishes like dosa, especially when questions about authenticity are raised online.

A shocking case from Telangana’s Khammam district has raised serious questions after a 28-year-old woman was found dead at her home and an old video allegedly showing her husband brutally assaulting her surfaced online. The woman, identified as R Meenakshi, was found hanging inside the bedroom of her house in Gol Thanda village in Thirumalayapalem on Friday morning. Police initially treated the case as a suspected suicide, but her family strongly denied this claim and accused her husband, R Shivaji, of murdering her.

Trigger Warning: Videos below contain disturbing visuals. But then this old video surfaced. According to Meenakshi’s family,… pic.twitter.com/k03wlv9olL

— Revathi (@revathitweets) May 22, 2026

Breaking News- In Golthanda, Khammam district, Telangana, Meenakshi (married to Shivaji for 14 years) was found dead, initially claimed as suicide. They claimed he wanted to gain control of her property and life insurance money.

Family members alleged that the house where the couple lived was registered in Meenakshi’s name. They also claimed she had a life insurance policy worth around Rs 1 crore.

Soon after Meenakshi’s death, her relatives gathered at the Thirumalayapalem police station and demanded that Shivaji be charged with murder instead of the case being treated as suicide.

The family alleged that Shivaji beat Meenakshi to death and then tried to make the incident look like suicide.

Old assault video goes viral

The case became more serious after an old video surfaced online on Friday morning. The disturbing clip allegedly shows Shivaji beating Meenakshi with a belt while she appears to be tied up.

In the video, Meenakshi can reportedly be heard crying in pain and begging while their child cries nearby.

According to police, the video was old and was allegedly recorded earlier by one of Meenakshi’s relatives. However, it was never made public at the time because family members from both sides reportedly intervened and reached a compromise.

Police said Shivaji had allegedly promised during that time that he would stop assaulting her. But according to the complaint filed by Meenakshi’s family, the abuse and harassment continued even after that.

Police waiting for post-mortem report

Thirumalayapalem Police Station Inspector V Srinivas said police were waiting for the post-mortem report to confirm the exact cause of death.

“He definitely beat her up. We have brought him to the police station for questioning. We will modify the FIR once the post-mortem reveals if it is suicide or murder,” the officer said.

Earlier reports claimed Shivaji was absconding after the incident, but police later confirmed that he had been detained for questioning.

The investigation is continuing, and police are expected to decide further charges after receiving the medical report.

A special Pocso court in Tamil Nadu’s Tuticorin district has awarded a double death sentence to a 38-year-old man for the rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl. The verdict came just 75 days after the crime shocked the state. The court relied heavily on scientific evidence, including DNA reports and CCTV footage captured near a windmill farm, to convict the accused, identified as Dharmamuneeswaran, according to a report by the Times of India.

The judgment was delivered by Sessions Judge M Breetha on Monday after a fast-paced trial that concluded within eight weeks.

Girl Was Attacked After Leaving Home

According to investigators, the teenage girl had stepped out of her house in Vedanatham village on the evening of March 10 to answer nature’s call when she was attacked.

Police said Dharmamuneeswaran intercepted the girl, raped her and later murdered her before fleeing the area.

The case initially appeared difficult to solve as there were no direct witnesses or immediate clues linking anyone to the crime.

Windmill CCTV Became Major Breakthrough

Investigators later found a key lead through CCTV footage from a camera installed near a windmill farm close to the crime scene. Police analysed nearly 1,000 hours of footage collected from different locations between Vedanatham village and Tuticorin town. The footage showed the accused entering the village on a motorcycle around 2.30 pm on March 10 and leaving the next morning around 6.30 am.

Officials identified him through a checked shirt visible in the footage and tracked his movements further towards Tuticorin.

Police also found that the accused had switched off his mobile phone after entering the village. The phone became active again in Tuticorin shortly after he was seen leaving in the CCTV footage, helping police establish a timeline of events.

DNA Evidence Strengthened the Case

Forensic evidence played a major role in securing the conviction. According to police, blood samples found on the shirt worn by the accused matched the victim’s blood group. Semen samples collected during the post-mortem examination were also matched to the accused through DNA testing, the TOI report added.

Inspector General of Police Vijayendra S Bidari said the investigation was solved mainly through scientific evidence.

He described the DNA match as the “clinching proof” that helped police crack what was initially considered a blind case.

Stolen Bike and Previous Criminal History

Investigators also tracked the motorcycle used by the accused during the crime. Police said Dharmamuneeswaran had stolen the bike from Ramanathapuram district and later changed its number plate to avoid being caught.

Officials claimed the accused had visited the village several times earlier and had studied entry and exit routes before carrying out the crime.

Police records showed that the accused had earlier received a life sentence in a similar case, though the punishment had later been suspended by a local court.

The chargesheet in the case was filed within 21 days, while the trial began on May 5. A total of 17 witnesses were examined during the proceedings.

Special Public Prosecutor V Ellammal Kissinger said the court considered the accused’s criminal background before awarding the double death sentence.

Nearly nine months after a young Indian woman was found dead inside her apartment in Washington state, US police have arrested her husband, alleging he murdered her and tried to make the death appear suspicious but unrelated to him. Avinash Narne, a 30-year-old software development engineer from Telangana, has been charged with the murder of his 27-year-old wife, Raajitha Sabbineni.

Investigators believe the killing was planned and say evidence gathered over several months points to deliberate strangulation followed by an attempt to mislead investigators. If convicted, Narne could face life imprisonment under Washington state law. He is currently being held on a USD 5 million (around Rs 48 crore) bail.

#BREAKING:Telugu guy Avinash Narne accused of murdering his 27-yr-old wife Raajitha Sabbineni, has pleaded not guilty. He is now in Jail on $5 million bail. He claimed his wife had locked herself inside the bathroom and was not responding.

Officers forced open the bathroom door and found Sabbineni lying on the floor. She was declared dead at the scene, just months after the couple got married.

An autopsy later concluded that she had died from asphyxia caused by strangulation. Medical examiners officially ruled the death a homicide, prompting detectives to launch a detailed investigation.

Mother Watches in Horror As Baby Falls Down Stairs After Nanny Sleeps Through Cries | Viral Video

Digital evidence challenged husband's version

According to investigators, Narne told police he had stepped out of the apartment for around 40 minutes to run errands and returned to find the bathroom locked.

However, detectives examined data from the apartment's smart-lock system and front-door security records. The digital evidence reportedly showed that although Narne briefly left the apartment, no one else entered or left during that period.

Police said this ruled out the possibility of an unknown intruder entering the home while Narne was away.

The investigation then shifted towards Narne's personal life and communications.

Alleged affair became key part of investigation

Court documents allege that Narne had been involved in a secret relationship with another woman in India even before marrying Sabbineni. Investigators claim the relationship continued after the wedding and that the woman had attended the couple's marriage ceremony.

Police said phone records showed Narne spoke to the woman several times on the day of his wife's death, including around the time he claimed he was trying to enter the locked bathroom.

Investigators also alleged that Narne admitted sending the woman a photograph of Sabbineni's body the day after her death, a claim that has drawn widespread attention.

Real-life Spider-Man Rescues Family From Waterlogged Pothole in Bhiwandi, Video Goes Viral (WATCH)

Messages raised fresh questions

Detectives also examined messages exchanged between the couple in the weeks before Sabbineni died.

According to charging documents, Sabbineni had repeatedly told her husband that drinks he prepared tasted unusually bitter. On the day of her death, she reportedly messaged him saying a smoothie tasted like "medicine" and "cough syrup".

Police have not publicly stated whether those messages are linked to the cause of death, but they form part of the evidence collected during the investigation.

After months of reviewing forensic findings, digital records and witness statements, Bellevue Police arrested Narne. On July 1, prosecutors formally charged him with first-degree murder, alleging that the killing was intentional and premeditated. The case will now proceed through the Washington court system.

He Trains With a Pillow Tied to a Cylinder, Guards Parking Lots at Night, but Refuses to Give Up on His MMA Dream

They seem unaware of the danger and are seen smiling as the video is recorded by people on the road. Passersby can be heard reacting in shock, saying, “Oh shit, these are kids.”

The registration number visible in the clip, as claimed by social media users, is TS12EZ1951. Some users also mentioned another similar number in the comments. However, these details are being circulated online and have not yet been officially confirmed in the public domain.

Public reaction on social media

The video quickly spread across platforms, with many users expressing anger and concern. Several people demanded strict punishment for the driver.

One user wrote that people value money more than human life and blamed both individuals and authorities for weak enforcement.

Another user called the act criminal and demanded permanent cancellation of the driving licence. Some users asked whether the vehicle passed through toll gates without being stopped.

Many comments described the behaviour as irresponsible and dangerous. Some users said the driver should be arrested, the vehicle seized, and strict action taken. Others demanded that police increase monitoring on ORR and use cameras more effectively.

There were also calls for stronger rules, including blocking vehicles with pending challans from entering the ORR. A few users even demanded lifetime restrictions on the driver.

Concerns about road safety

ORR is a high-speed expressway, and accidents at such speeds can be very serious. Several users pointed out that any mistake at 100+ kmph could cause severe injury or death, especially when children are not seated safely.

Road safety experts and the public have repeatedly warned that children must always be seated properly inside the vehicle, using seat belts or child safety seats. Carrying passengers in the boot is extremely dangerous and against traffic safety norms.

Police response

After the video went viral, police authorities responded publicly. They stated that the issue has been noted and will be verified. Officials said carrying passengers, especially children, in the boot of a moving vehicle is highly dangerous and puts lives at serious risk.

They added that necessary action will be taken according to traffic and road safety regulations. Police also urged all motorists to prioritise safety and follow rules while driving.

Growing demand for strict enforcement

The incident has renewed public discussion about speeding, monitoring on expressways, and stricter penalties. Many users have asked authorities to take immediate and strong action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Hyderabad Mail (@hyderabadmail)

The video continues to circulate online, and people are waiting for official confirmation and further updates from the concerned authorities.
