A speeding electric car went out of control in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally area on Wednesday afternoon, damaging several vehicles and causing panic on a busy road. The incident, which was captured on CCTV cameras, quickly went viral on social media after videos showed the car crashing into vehicles and roadside property within seconds.

According to police, the electric car was travelling from Vivekananda Nagar towards Allwyn Colony when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, reported The Hindu.

The accident damaged a car, a motorcycle and property near a local tiffin centre. Fortunately, no deaths or serious injuries were reported.

Police said a few people suffered minor injuries and escaped with shock.

The CCTV footage shows the electric vehicle moving suddenly at high speed before crashing into vehicles parked and moving on the roadside.

People nearby were seen running for safety as the car moved uncontrollably through the narrow and crowded stretch.

The incident happened in a busy part of Kukatpally known for regular traffic congestion and roadside shops.

Soon after the crash, locals gathered at the spot while police teams arrived to control traffic and begin an investigation.

The damaged vehicles were later removed from the road to clear congestion.

Police officials confirmed that the driver lost control of the vehicle while travelling towards Allwyn Colony.

However, officials have not yet confirmed the exact reason behind the accident.

An investigation is currently underway to determine whether the crash happened because of overspeeding, driver panic, distraction or technical error.

No official details have yet been released about the identity of the driver or whether any charges have been filed.

India is likely to receive widespread pre-monsoon rainfall between May 29 and June 5, bringing possible relief from severe heatwave conditions. The southwest monsoon is still delayed over Kerala due to weak cloud activity.

After days of intense heat across large parts of the country, India may finally get some relief as pre-monsoon rainfall is expected to spread across nearly 80 to 90 percent of the country between May 29 and June 5. The expected rain becomes important as the southwest monsoon has still not reached Kerala, even though the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier predicted its arrival around May 26.

Weather experts said weak cloud activity over the south-central Arabian Sea has slowed the monsoon’s progress. A cyclonic circulation in the region has reduced moisture and weakened rain-bearing clouds near Kerala. However, conditions are likely to improve within the next two to three days.

For the monsoon to officially enter Kerala, at least 14 selected weather stations in the state must receive 2.5 mm rainfall for two continuous days. So far, those conditions have not been fully met.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) has also released a fresh rainfall outlook for the next 15 days. According to its forecast maps, heavy rain activity is likely over south India, eastern states, the northeast and regions near the Bay of Bengal during the coming week.

The forecast is based on satellite observations along with oceanic and atmospheric data.

While rain may soon bring relief to many regions, severe heat continues to affect northwestern, central and eastern parts of India.

Uttar Pradesh’s Banda remained the hottest city in the country on Tuesday with a maximum temperature of 47.4°C. It was the ninth straight day that the temperature crossed 47°C in the district.

Several other cities in Uttar Pradesh also recorded extreme temperatures. Orai touched 45.8°C, Jhansi 45.5°C, Prayagraj 45.4°C, Agra 45.3°C and Hamirpur 45.2°C.

In Rajasthan, Sri Ganganagar recorded 47°C, making it the second hottest city in India. Bikaner and Phalodi both recorded 46°C, while Jaisalmer touched 45.6°C. Jaipur also remained hot at 43.2°C.

Many districts in Maharashtra continued to face extreme heat. Brahmapuri recorded 46.6°C, which was 3.5 degrees above normal. Chandrapur saw 46.4°C, Wardha 46°C, Nagpur’s Sonegaon area 45.5°C and Gondia 45.2°C.

In Haryana, Sirsa recorded 46°C and Rohtak 45.6°C. Punjab’s Bathinda reached 45.8°C.

Delhi also remained hotter than usual, with the maximum temperature touching 43.5°C, around 3 degrees above normal.

The IMD has issued heatwave alerts for parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Odisha, Punjab, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh on May 28.

At the same time, thunderstorms, strong winds and even hailstorms are expected in parts of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi.

Several states, including Bihar, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, may witness strong winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 70 kmph along with light rain in some areas.

Weather officials said temperatures may fall by 3°C to 7°C in many northern states from May 29 onwards.

CCTV captures final moments

Within moments, a green-and-white APSRTC bus approaches and collides with him. The bus does not appear to be travelling at a very high speed, but it continues moving after the impact and runs over the pedestrian.

According to reports and a viral video, one of the accused arrived on a motorcycle without a number plate, while his accomplice stood nearby. As the victim walked past, the biker deliberately showed falling onto the road, pretending to have skidded off. The passerby immediately stopped and bent down to help him handle his bike and get up.

At that moment, the second suspect covered the victim with a paper/cloth-like object and quietly removed the phone from his pocket. N Marie Wilson, a first-time MLA from RK Nagar, has been appointed Finance Minister in CM Vijay’s expanded Tamil Nadu Cabinet. Wilson joined TVK in 2025 and won the 2026 Assembly election by defeating DMK’s J. John Ebenezer by nearly 50,000 votes.

Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has announced a major Cabinet expansion, and one name that has quickly drawn attention is N. Marie Wilson. The first-time MLA from Radhakrishnan Nagar has now been given one of the most important positions in the state government, the Finance portfolio.

With the latest Cabinet expansion on May 21, the strength of the Tamil Nadu Ministry rose to 33 Ministers. While several senior leaders received key departments, Marie Wilson’s appointment as Finance Minister stood out because he entered electoral politics only recently and won his first election in 2026.

His rise from educationist to Finance Minister within a short period reflects the changing political landscape in Tamil Nadu under Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government.

Chief Minister Vijay retained major portfolios including Home, Police, Municipal Administration and Urban Water Supply.

He also took charge of Special Initiatives, Poverty Alleviation and Rural Indebtedness, departments earlier handled by Minister N. Anand.

N Marie Wilson is an Indian politician and educationist from Tamil Nadu.

He is associated with the Jeppiaar group of educational institutions, one of the well-known private education groups in the state.

Wilson was born around 1979 and comes from Chennai. His father’s name is Nestore.

Before entering politics, Wilson built his career mainly in the education sector.

Academically, he holds a B.Tech degree and an MBA. He later completed a PhD in Management Science from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in 2012.

His educational background and administrative experience in institutions are believed to have played a role in his rise within TVK.

Entry into politics through TVK

Wilson officially joined TVK on June 9, 2025.

He joined the party along with several other notable names, including former IRS officer K.G. Arunraj, former judicial officer C. Subash and former MLAs R. Rajalakshmi, S. David Selvan and Dr. A. Sridharan.

His political entry also marked the first major electoral involvement of the Jeppiaar family in many years.

Earlier, Dr. Jeppiaar had contested the 1989 Tamil Nadu Assembly election from T Nagar under the Janaki faction, although he was not elected.

After joining TVK, Wilson quickly became active in party events and organisational work.

In November 2025, TVK chief Vijay addressed around 2,000 party workers at the Jeppiaar Institute of Technology campus during a closed-door meeting. The event gained attention because it was one of the party’s major internal meetings after the Karur stampede incident in September 2025.

Victory from RK Nagar

Wilson received his biggest political breakthrough when TVK announced him as the party’s candidate from Radhakrishnan Nagar during the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Polling took place on April 23, 2026.

On May 4, Wilson was declared elected after defeating sitting MLA J. John Ebenezer of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam by a margin of 49,668 votes.

He secured 97,800 votes in the constituency.

The victory was seen as significant because RK Nagar has remained one of Chennai’s politically important constituencies over the years.

Tamil Nadu witnessed one of its biggest political shifts in recent decades after actor-turned-politician Vijay led TVK to victory in the Assembly elections.

The party emerged as the single largest party by winning 108 seats, ending the long-standing political dominance of the DMK and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

During his swearing-in speech, Vijay described the result as the beginning of “a new era of real, secular and social justice.”

The Cabinet formation has since drawn national attention because of the inclusion of several first-time MLAs and younger faces.

Sengottaiyan gets Revenue portfolio

Apart from Marie Wilson, senior TVK leader KA Sengottaiyan was assigned the Revenue department.

His responsibilities include Revenue Administration, Disaster Management, Deputy Collectors, Boodhan, Gramadhan and Legislative Assembly matters.

The Cabinet also reassigned the Women Welfare portfolio.

K Jegadeshwari has now been designated Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, taking over responsibilities that were earlier handled by the Chief Minister’s office.

Tamil Nadu gets dedicated AI ministry

One of the other major decisions by the Vijay government was the creation of a dedicated Artificial Intelligence portfolio.

TVK MLA Kumar R from Velachery was appointed Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology and Digital Services.

With this move, Tamil Nadu became the second Indian state after Kerala to create a separate AI ministry.

The decision reflects increasing focus among Indian states on digital governance and emerging technologies.

As Finance Minister, Marie Wilson will now handle one of the most challenging departments in the Tamil Nadu government.

He will oversee state finances, development planning and pension-related matters at a time when expectations from the new government remain extremely high.

Police Examining All Evidence

Police have registered a case and are investigating every possible angle. They are collecting CCTV footage from the hotel, examining Renuka's mobile phone and questioning the man who had checked into the hotel with her.

Langar Houz Sub-Inspector Syed Munwar Ali said the exact reason behind the woman's death would be known only after the investigation is completed.

Officials are also waiting for the post-mortem and forensic reports before reaching any final conclusions.

According to police, as quoted by NDTV report, the accused first booked a Rapido bike and travelled with Lakshmi towards Thimmapur village. As the area remained busy with traffic and CCTV surveillance, he allegedly shifted her onto his own motorcycle and took her to a deserted road near Nustulapur.

Investigators said the man then robbed Lakshmi of around five grams of gold jewellery, silver anklets weighing about 20 grams and cash.

Police believe the accused decided to kill her to ensure there were no witnesses left who could identify him.

Police formed a special investigation team after Lakshmi's rescue. Officers analysed Rapido booking records, CCTV footage and mobile phone data to trace the suspect.

The accused was identified as 21-year-old Dhamma Dinesh Reddy. During questioning, police said he confessed to the crime.

Investigators also recovered the stolen jewellery after learning that it had allegedly been sold to a jewellery trader. Police arrested the trader as well for allegedly receiving stolen property.

According to investigators, Dinesh Reddy had lost nearly Rs 4 lakh through online gambling, betting platforms and loan applications. Burdened by mounting debt, he allegedly planned the robbery to arrange money.

Police have arrested the accused and produced him before a court. The investigation is continuing.

Family alleges murder for insurance money

According to Meenakshi’s parents and relatives, Shivaji had been regularly harassing and attacking her for years, reports Indian Express. They claimed he wanted to gain control of her property and life insurance money.

Family members alleged that the house where the couple lived was registered in Meenakshi’s name. They also claimed she had a life insurance policy worth around Rs 1 crore.

Soon after Meenakshi’s death, her relatives gathered at the Thirumalayapalem police station and demanded that Shivaji be charged with murder instead of the case being treated as suicide.

The family alleged that Shivaji beat Meenakshi to death and then tried to make the incident look like suicide.

Old assault video goes viral

The case became more serious after an old video surfaced online on Friday morning. The disturbing clip allegedly shows Shivaji beating Meenakshi with a belt while she appears to be tied up.

In the video, Meenakshi can reportedly be heard crying in pain and begging while their child cries nearby.

According to police, the video was old and was allegedly recorded earlier by one of Meenakshi’s relatives. However, it was never made public at the time because family members from both sides reportedly intervened and reached a compromise.

Police said Shivaji had allegedly promised during that time that he would stop assaulting her. But according to the complaint filed by Meenakshi’s family, the abuse and harassment continued even after that.

Police waiting for post-mortem report

Thirumalayapalem Police Station Inspector V Srinivas said police were waiting for the post-mortem report to confirm the exact cause of death.

“He definitely beat her up. We have brought him to the police station for questioning. We will modify the FIR once the post-mortem reveals if it is suicide or murder,” the officer said.

Earlier reports claimed Shivaji was absconding after the incident, but police later confirmed that he had been detained for questioning.

The investigation is continuing, and police are expected to decide further charges after receiving the medical report.

The court relied heavily on scientific evidence, including DNA reports and CCTV footage captured near a windmill farm, to convict the accused, identified as Dharmamuneeswaran, according to a report by the Times of India.

The judgment was delivered by Sessions Judge M Breetha on Monday after a fast-paced trial that concluded within eight weeks.

Girl Was Attacked After Leaving Home

According to investigators, the teenage girl had stepped out of her house in Vedanatham village on the evening of March 10 to answer nature’s call when she was attacked.

Police said Dharmamuneeswaran intercepted the girl, raped her and later murdered her before fleeing the area.

The case initially appeared difficult to solve as there were no direct witnesses or immediate clues linking anyone to the crime.

Windmill CCTV Became Major Breakthrough

Investigators later found a key lead through CCTV footage from a camera installed near a windmill farm close to the crime scene. Police analysed nearly 1,000 hours of footage collected from different locations between Vedanatham village and Tuticorin town. The footage showed the accused entering the village on a motorcycle around 2.30 pm on March 10 and leaving the next morning around 6.30 am.

Officials identified him through a checked shirt visible in the footage and tracked his movements further towards Tuticorin.

Police also found that the accused had switched off his mobile phone after entering the village. The phone became active again in Tuticorin shortly after he was seen leaving in the CCTV footage, helping police establish a timeline of events.

DNA Evidence Strengthened the Case

Forensic evidence played a major role in securing the conviction. According to police, blood samples found on the shirt worn by the accused matched the victim’s blood group. Semen samples collected during the post-mortem examination were also matched to the accused through DNA testing, the TOI report added.

Inspector General of Police Vijayendra S Bidari said the investigation was solved mainly through scientific evidence.

He described the DNA match as the “clinching proof” that helped police crack what was initially considered a blind case.

Stolen Bike and Previous Criminal History

Investigators also tracked the motorcycle used by the accused during the crime. Police said Dharmamuneeswaran had stolen the bike from Ramanathapuram district and later changed its number plate to avoid being caught.

Officials claimed the accused had visited the village several times earlier and had studied entry and exit routes before carrying out the crime.

Police records showed that the accused had earlier received a life sentence in a similar case, though the punishment had later been suspended by a local court.

The chargesheet in the case was filed within 21 days, while the trial began on May 5. A total of 17 witnesses were examined during the proceedings.

However, detectives examined data from the apartment's smart-lock system and front-door security records. The digital evidence reportedly showed that although Narne briefly left the apartment, no one else entered or left during that period.

Police said this ruled out the possibility of an unknown intruder entering the home while Narne was away.

Vidushi Deeksha V, a Bharatanatyam dancer from Karnataka's Udupi, created history by performing continuously for 216 hours over nine days and entering Golden Book of World Records. The marathon performance began on August 21 and ended on August 30.

For nine days in a row, Vidushi Deeksha V kept dancing with determination, discipline and passion. The young Bharatanatyam artist from Karnataka's Udupi district entered the Golden Book of World Records after performing continuously for 216 hours.

Her historic performance began on August 21, 2025, at 3.30 pm and ended successfully on August 30 at 3.30 pm. The marathon dance performance took place at Dr. G. Shankar Government Women’s First Grade College in Ajjarakadu, Udupi.

The event was organised under the banner of Ratna Sanjeeva Kalamandala of Manipal.

Vidushi Deeksha’s achievement became even more remarkable because she crossed the earlier record of 170 hours of continuous dance performance.

During the nine-day challenge, she was allowed only 15 minutes of rest after every three hours. Apart from these short breaks, she danced continuously while facing physical tiredness, mental pressure and lack of sleep.

Despite the difficult conditions, she completed the full 216 hours and earned official recognition from the Golden Book of World Records.

Her achievement was widely praised across Karnataka. Several people, including political leaders and art lovers, congratulated her for bringing pride to the state.

Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar was among those who praised her achievement publicly.

Vidushi Deeksha V was born and raised in Aroor village in Brahmavar taluk of Udupi district. She comes from a simple family with limited financial resources.

Her father, Vitthal, worked as a school bus driver, while her mother, Shubha, worked as a hostel helper. In interviews, Deeksha shared that her family often faced money problems while she was growing up.

She said that in her village, even small daily items required travelling 10 to 15 kilometres to buy them.

Still, her parents supported her dream of learning Bharatanatyam.

According to Deeksha, her first dance class fee was reportedly only Rs 75. Even during financial difficulties, her parents managed to pay the amount so she could begin learning classical dance.

Deeksha has often spoken about the important role her mother played in her journey.

She said her mother always wanted to become an artist herself, but poverty and social pressure stopped her from following that dream. Instead, she encouraged Deeksha to enter the world of dance.

When Deeksha was around three years old, her mother took her to her first Bharatanatyam class. At that time, the teacher reportedly felt she was too young to join.

But the little girl quietly stood at the back of the room and copied the older students during practice sessions. That became the beginning of her long journey in Bharatanatyam.

As she grew older, Deeksha continued training and slowly built her identity in the field through years of hard work and struggle.

Dreams beyond records

Even after achieving a world record, Deeksha says her biggest dream is still ahead.

In interviews, she said she wants to open an academy where children from poor families can learn art forms like Bharatanatyam free of cost.

She believes no child should be forced to leave their passion because of financial problems.

Her story is now inspiring many young people across India, especially students from ordinary families who dream of achieving something big through dedication and hard work.

Incident happened near playschool

According to police, the incident took place on May 14 at around 1.30 pm. The woman had gone to pick up her young child from a nearby playschool in Alkapur Township.

Officials said the woman was returning home while carrying the child when the accused allegedly followed her from behind. Police said Nagaraju allegedly lifted the woman’s dress and immediately ran away from the spot. The woman reportedly raised an alarm and turned around to chase him, but he managed to escape.

CCTV video went viral online

The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed near Pranati Easha Apartment on Road No. 4 in Alkapuri Township in the Manikonda area.

The footage reportedly shows the woman walking with the child when a young man approaches her from behind, allegedly misbehaves with her and quickly flees.

After the video appeared online, many social media users expressed shock and anger. Several people demanded quick police action and stricter safety measures in residential localities.

The video also drew the attention of police authorities, who began examining the CCTV footage as part of the investigation.

Police formed teams to trace accused

Based on the woman’s complaint filed on May 19, Narsingi police registered a case under Sections 78 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police then formed special teams to identify and trace the accused.

After several days of investigation, officers arrested Nagaraju on Saturday. Officials said the accused does not have any previous criminal record and was not earlier involved in similar offences.

Many residents expressed concern after the incident and said such behaviour creates fear among women living in the area.

Police said further investigation into the case is continuing.
