The Dow closed nearly 3% up, while the S&P 500 added 3.58% at close and the Nasdaq ended the week more than 5% higher.

Chief Market Strategist at Creative Planning Charlie Bilello said in a post on X on Sunday, “S&P 500 Q2 earnings are on pace to rise 50% YoY, the highest growth rate since Q2 2021. We've never seen earnings growth this high outside of post-recessionary rebounds. This is an unprecedented boom fueled by massive EPS gains in big tech, including markups in SpaceX/Anthropic.”

What’s Driving US Markets?

Last week, U.S. markets largely reacted to strong earnings from marquee names and July nonfarm payrolls report that released on Friday, which clocked a surprise contraction in jobs even as unemployment rates came in lower than expected.

The economy reported a decline of 23,000 jobs versus an expectation of 83,000 forecast by Dow Jones economists. Unemployment rates came in at 4.1% versus an expectation of 4.2%.

The unexpected contraction stoked market hopes that the Federal Reserve would likely hold off on hiking interest rates in September. According to the CME FedWatch tool, markets are now predicting a probability of about 44% that the central bank will hike rates at its next meeting, down from 67% a week ago.

“The stock market is likely to welcome the dovish implications of the [jobs] report,” Peter Graf, investing chief at Amova Asset Management Americas, told CNBC. But he added that “investors should be wary of the future growth potential of an economy where fewer people are working.”

On the geopolitical front, the uncertainty around the U.S. and Iran’s likelihood of reaching a deal soon has also been weighing on markets.

Last week, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be close. However, U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly told Axios over the weekend that the U.S. was “only semi-negotiating” with Iran and intends to continue exerting economic pressure on the country.

Meanwhile, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Tehran is not currently negotiating with the U.S. and will not resume talks until the Trump administration ends what Iran considers violations of its commitments and provides compensation for those breaches.

Brett Erickson, managing principal at Obsidian Risk Advisors, said in a post on X that the longer the U.S.’s blockade against Iran lasts, the more its economy suffers, raising its demands for concessions and making it harder for Trump to end the war and “the greater the risks of extreme escalation become.”

Global oil prices were climbing at the time of writing. Brent crude futures expiring in October were up more than 1% to $84.46 a barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude futures expiring in September were trading at $78.88 per barrel, up about 0.9% at the time of writing.

Trending Stocks To Watch

Airbnb Inc. (ABNB): The property rental company was on the retail radar after its stellar quarterly performance sent shares more than 17% higher on Friday, its strongest climb on record.

AXT Inc. (AXTI): Shares of the company garnered attention on the platform after they climbed sharply on Friday and continued its climb overnight as investors reacted to the semiconductor materials company’s stronger-than-expected second-quarter results and bullish third-quarter guidance.

Intuitive Machines Inc. (LUNR): The company’s stock was up more than 1% in overnight trading late Sunday as space stocks are back in vogue this month. Intuitive Machines is on track to assemble its third Nova-C lander for IM-3 and is also slated to report earnings later this week.

Sellas Life Sciences (SLS): Shares of the late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company surged nearly 20% last week amid growing investor excitement around its imminent, Phase 3 REGAL clinical trial data readout for its lead acute myeloid leukemia (AML) drug candidate, Galinpepimut-S (GPS).

Other Market Trends

Yields on the 10-year Treasury were at 4.664% at the time of writing, while spot gold prices declined to $4,331.16 per ounce.

Among ETFs tracking benchmark indexes, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY), the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust (DIA) and the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) all edged lower at the time of writing.

The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT) was also down 0.31% amid ‘neutral’ sentiment.

Asian markets were trading mixed on Monday morning. South Korea's KOSPI, Japan’s Nikkei 225, and China’s SSE Composite all edged higher at the open, while Australian stocks were declining at the time of writing.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

Michael Burry said in a post on Substack that he no longer finds “Berkshire an attractive investment going forward” after former CEO Warren Buffett’s step down from the company last year.

He referred to the company’s growing cash pile, noting that although Berkshire had started to spend some cash under new CEO Greg Abel, not much of it has been utilized.

The company ended its June quarter with $364.7 billion in cash and Treasury bills, down 4% from the previous quarter, marking the company’s first sequential decline in cash in four years.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.A, BRK.B) is putting some of its enormous cash hoard to work under new CEO Greg Abel, but the move has done little so far to close the performance gap with the broader U.S. market, and veteran investor Michael Burry is not convinced the post-Warren Buffett Berkshire is an attractive investment anymore.

It has had a rather lacklustre run as investors adjust to a company without Buffett at the helm. Berkshire shares are up roughly 3% in 2026, considerably underperforming the benchmark S&P 500 index and the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

‘The Big Short’ investor Michael Burry said in a post on Substack that he no longer finds “Berkshire an attractive investment going forward” after Buffett’s step down.

Burry’s Stance On Berkshire Hathaway

Buffett stepped down as Berkshire’s CEO at the end of 2025, handing over the baton to Greg Abel after decades of building it into one of the world’s most closely watched capital-allocation conglomerates. Burry has now raised questions about Berkshire’s appeal under Abel.

“My biggest fear for Berkshire Hathaway was that when Warren finally stepped down, the successor would be too old and otherwise not Warren, so would not have his patience for the fat pitch. I believe this fear has come true,” Burry said in his post.

He referred to the company’s growing cash pile, noting that although Berkshire had started to spend some cash under Abel, “I realize not too much of the cash pile has been spent, and the cash pile remains large,” he said.

“However, these first steps look to be more framing moves than investment moves,” Burry added.

Berkshire’s Cash Pile Declines For The First Time In 4 Years

Burry’s comments come shortly after Berkshire reported its second-quarter results last week. The company ended its June quarter with $365.5 billion in cash and Treasury bills, down about 8% from the previous quarter of a record $397.4 billion. It marked the company’s first sequential decline in cash in four years.

“Berkshire Hathaway's massive cash pile declined for the first time in 4 years, meaning it was finally a net buyer of stocks,” Barchart said in a post on X.
    Source: Barchart
Berkshire was a net buyer of equities in the second quarter, purchasing $23.5 billion versus $3.7 billion of sales. Berkshire's notable moves include a $10 billion investment in Alphabet Inc. (GOOG, GOOGL) as well as $4.5 billion spent buying back its own stock.

Morningstar said in a report that the firm is “continuing to benefit from solid underwriting in its insurance businesses despite pricing coming down over the past year.”

What Does Retail Think About Berkshire Stock?

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around BRK.A stock declined from ‘extremely bullish’ to ‘bullish’ territory over 24 hours amid ‘extremely high’ message volumes.

Meanwhile, sentiment for BRK.B stock stayed in the ‘extremely bullish’ territory amid ‘extremely high’ message volume.

One user said, “Berkshire deploying capital is a major bullish signal.”

Another user said, “Anyone notice that not only did buybacks accelerate from Q1 to Q2, they continued to accelerate into Q3 from the higher Q2 pace. Greg must have a different valuation method for Berkshire shares vs Charlie and Warren. Operationally, he is a better CEO. Makes sense.”

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

The first Starship V3 test flight took place from SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Texas, followed by Flight 13 in July, which deployed the first next-generation Starlink V3 satellites.

“It’s not out of the question that at some point, Starlink will deliver a majority of the world’s internet,” Musk had said in a call with analysts after its earnings results.

“We thought the increase in satellite bandwidth from V2 to V3 was 20X. 100X is astonishing,” ARK Investment Management’s Cathie Wood, a long-time proponent and investor in SpaceX, said in a post on X.

On Friday, the asset management purchased an additional 114,815 shares in SpaceX, which is the second-largest holding across all ARK funds, comprising 5.07% weightage worth slightly more than $300 million in total.

SPCX Stock: Retail Stance

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around SPCX stock was ‘bullish’ at the time of writing amid ‘extremely high’ message volumes.

One user said, “$SPCX People keep trying to short this thing and getting burned. Every time they think SPCX is going to fall, buyers step in and absorb the selling. And don’t forget who’s sitting on the other side of these trades, the BIG DOGS.

Rising corporate defense budgets are aiding cybersecurity stocks.

Companies specializing in physical network hardware, traffic inspection, and automated data recovery are uniquely insulated from generative AI disruption.

Traditional vulnerability scanners face intense margin pressure as large language models replicate standard code audits.

The financial performance of cybersecurity providers is breaking away from the broader enterprise software industry, driven by an escalation in threats powered by autonomous artificial intelligence agents.

While traditional software providers face valuation pressure over potential AI disintermediation, Citrini Research points out that cybersecurity equities have experienced a sharp divergence.

For instance, the iShares Cybersecurity ETF (IHAK) has surged 30% over the past year compared to a loss of 6.2% posted by the S&P Expanded Technology Software ETF (IGV). The shift reflects a changing threat landscape where autonomous digital agents operate with unprecedented speed and sophistication.

AI Threats Stoke Cybersecurity Demand

Citrini Research attributes the surge in corporate defense spending to a sharp increase in global threat activity. Citing industry data, the report states that average weekly incidents per organization hit a record high of 2,270 in June, climbing 17% year-over-year.

The structural necessity of modern defenses became undeniable when OpenAI disclosed that one of its autonomous agents escaped confinement, exploited a zero-day vulnerability, and hacked Hugging Face to access AI training data—completely bypassing traditional security perimeters.

Furthermore, a Q1 Jefferies survey showed that 0% of IT leaders identified cybersecurity as a candidate for budget cuts, even as AI reallocation sweeps through enterprise IT departments.

Citrini identifies network security hardware and data resilience platforms as occupying the most fortified market positions, stating that their physical control points "cannot be easily vibecoded away."

The research firm singles out Palo Alto Networks (PANW) and Fortinet as structural beneficiaries, adding that Palo Alto's FE400 chips and Fortinet's NP7 ASIC hardware carry out high-speed TLS decryption that no large language model can replicate. Similarly, Citrini points to Cloudflare (NET) and Zscaler (ZS) as core winners because every newly deployed AI agent acts as a distinct traffic source requiring continuous inspection.

Cloudflare reported its Q2 2026 earnings on Friday, which beat revenue expectations and raised its full-year outlook on strong demand for agentic AI network security products.

NET, ZS, PANW: Retail View

Retail sentiment on NET, ZS and PANW stock was ‘extremely bullish,’ ‘neutral’ and ‘bearish’ respectively.

NET stock has soared 50%, ZS has lost 26%, and PANW jumped 95% year-to-date.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com. <

The $60-billion all-stock takeover could close within days or by the end of August at the latest, pending final regulatory clearances.

Cursor will not run as an independent entity, and its workforce and operational tools will be folded directly into existing SpaceXAI structures.

Upcoming tools, including an unreleased general-purpose agent, may adopt the "Grok" brand.

AI coding startup Cursor informed staff at an all-hands meeting that SpaceX could complete its $60-billion buyout of the company within days, while outlining plans to integrate teams and potentially phase out the Cursor brand for future software releases.

While regulatory approvals dictate the final schedule, the deal is slated to wrap up by the end of the month at the latest, sources familiar with the matter told The Information.

Brand Realignment And Internal Queries

As part of the upcoming transition, Cursor indicated that future releases such as "Sand," an internal project developing a general-purpose AI agent, might be launched under SpaceXAI’s "Grok" branding, The Information reported. However, existing offerings like the core Cursor coding assistant are expected to retain their current names for now.

During a post-meeting Q&A session, some employees raised questions regarding the shift toward Grok branding. Cursor Chief Executive Officer Michael Truell had previously told staff earlier this year that SpaceXAI viewed Cursor's brand identity and enterprise relationships as key assets. Sources noted that branding strategies remain fluid, with the potential introduction of an entirely new brand name still under consideration.

The acquisition stems from an April technical and computing alliance between the two firms, which gave SpaceX an option to purchase Cursor. SpaceX formally elected to execute the purchase following its initial public offering in June. On SpaceX's maiden quarterly earnings call as a public firm this week, CEO Elon Musk confirmed that regulatory reviews were nearly complete and that the transaction should close "quite soon."

Structural Shift And Enterprise Push

Unlike startups operating as standalone subsidiaries, Cursor will be broken up and distributed across various SpaceXAI teams, The Information reported. Employees are scheduled to be migrated into SpaceX Slack environments, operational systems, and reporting lines shortly after closing, though Cursor management stressed that no changes would take effect prior to official completion.

For SpaceX, the all-stock acquisition delivers a vital corporate customer base and rich training data for its artificial intelligence division. While SpaceX's Grok line has faced headwinds gaining corporate traction, the parent company recently posted $2.6 billion in second-quarter AI revenue primarily driven by renting cloud computing. High capital expenditures on data infrastructure brought SpaceX's quarterly cash burn to $16 billion, ramping up pressure to monetize AI products.

SPCX Stock: Retail View

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around SPCX stayed within ‘bullish’ territory over the past 24 hours, while message volume remained at ‘extremely high’ levels.

SPCX stock has fallen 17% after debuting on the Nasdaq in June.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

U.S. gold equities and exchange-traded funds are pacing toward their strongest weekly performance in over a year, with spot gold climbing back above the $4,200 per ounce threshold.

Recent U.S. non-farm payrolls data and labor market indications have strengthened market sentiment that the Federal Reserve will defer rate hike plans.

Central bank additions—led by China's largest monthly purchase since late 2023—and a turnaround in global gold ETF inflows in July are providing strong structural support for the precious metal.

U.S. gold miners and gold-backed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are on track to record their best weekly performance in over a year.

The rally in bullion-linked assets comes as spot prices surged past $4,250 per ounce. Driven by shifting expectations around Federal Reserve monetary policy, persistent central bank accumulation, and renewed investor appetite through physically backed funds, gold has regained strong upward momentum.

Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM), Newmont Corporation (NEM), and Barrick Mining (B) closed the week ending August 7 at their highest in over a year, while the SPDR Gold Trust ETF (GLD) saw its best week since January this year.

Cooling Labor Data And Fed Policy Drivers

The primary trigger behind gold's momentum stems from macroeconomic signals in the United States. Recent U.S. payrolls data points to a cooling labor market, giving financial markets reason to price in a more dovish stance from the Federal Reserve.

While inflation indicators remain elevated, partly due to energy price volatility linked to Middle East geopolitics and ongoing supply-side pressures, investors are betting that the Fed will refrain from additional rate hikes.

Market observers expect that a gradual moderation in inflation combined with steady policy rates will eventually transition into an easy interest rate scenario, creating a favorable climate for precious metals while putting downward pressure on the U.S. dollar.

Following the release of the non-farm payrolls report, which saw a surprise dip, the dollar has come under pressure as more traders anticipate the Fed to hold rates in its September meeting. July’s nonfarm payrolls report showed a drop of 23,000 jobs, while economists polled by Dow Jones had forecast a gain of 83,000.

According to the CME FedWatch tool, bets for a rate hike in September fell from 55% to 41.9%.

Analysts at UBS note that while near-term trading risk and volatility remain as markets digest economic releases, the medium- to long-term outlook points to gold potentially approaching $5,000 per ounce in 2027.

Global Gold ETF Outflows Reverse In July

In addition to macroeconomic policy expectations, private investment interest is returning to paper gold markets. According to the World Gold Council (WGC), global physically backed gold ETFs snapped a two-month streak of net outflows in July, recording net additions of 23.5 metric tons valued at around $2.97 billion.

The turnaround was primarily driven by European-listed funds, which added 17.3 tonnes (worth $2 billion) as investors seized on price dips near $4,000 per ounce as strategic entry points. UK and Swiss funds led the European demand, adding a combined $1.5 billion during the month.

While North American products experienced only modest inflows of 0.3 tonnes (worth $71 million), Asian-listed funds continued their steady trajectory, accumulating 4.8 tonnes ($616 million). Driven by market volatility in domestic equities and declining local yields, Asian funds remain the largest regional contributor to global year-to-date ETF inflows, which stand at $11 billion (39 metric tons).

PBoC Leads Central Bank Gold Purchases

Beyond retail and institutional fund flows, official sector purchasing continues to provide a structural floor for bullion prices. Data from the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) revealed that the Chinese central bank expanded its official gold reserves by 20 metric tons in July—marking its largest single-month net addition since October 2023 and extending its buying spree to 21 consecutive months.

According to World Gold Council analyst Krishan Gopaul, the July additions brought China's year-to-date official net purchases to 60 tonnes, raising total declared reserves to 2,366 tonnes. Other official institutions also increased holdings, including the Czech National Bank, which added 1.7 tonnes in July to bring its year-to-date total to 12 tonnes.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com. <

Burry reiterated his constructive stance about Freddie Mac and sister companY Fannie Mae, arguing that delays in a potential public offering do not destroy value.

The famed investor also added to Mercado Libre after earnings and increased his holding in lululemon.

Zoetis’s U.S. market-share losses look temporary, not a lasting problem, he noted.

Investor Michael Burry, known for correctly predicting the 2008 housing crisis, said on Friday that he added to long positions in Freddie Mac, Mercado Libre, lululemon, Fiserv and Zoetis, while shorting more of the SOXX semiconductor index and buying additional puts on it.

Bullish On Fannie And Freddie

Burry bought additional shares of Freddie Mac (FMCC) at $5.43. He reiterated his constructive stance about Freddie Mac and sister company Fannie Mae, arguing that delays in a potential public offering do not destroy value. Both government-sponsored enterprises continue growing book value at double-digit rates, he wrote, creating an opportunity for patient investors despite years of unfulfilled privatization promises.

Consumer And Tech Buys

Burry also added to Mercado Libre at about $1,812 after earnings and increased his holding in lululemon at $127.45.

He purchased more Fiserv shares at $51.93, viewing the current transition period as a good chance to buy. He highlighted a supportive Mizuho note that reiterated an Outperform rating and pointed to strength in the Clover payments business.

Zoetis Opportunity

Shares of animal-health company Zoetis were added at $72.72 after a post-earnings drop. Burry, who already holds a sizable position, sees the stock as cheaper than rival Elanco while offering stronger finances, better cash generation, and superior research strength. Recent U.S. market-share losses look temporary, not a lasting problem, he said.

Shorting Semiconductors

On the other side, Burry bought more put options on the SOXX semiconductor index for March 2027 and shorted additional SOXX shares at $541. The index’s rebound from recent lows offered what he called an attractive entry point.

How Did Retail Traders React?

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around FMCC and FNMA stayed within ‘neutral’ territory at the time of writing, while sentiment around MELI, FISV, and LULU stayed ‘bullish.’

Sentiment around SOXX was ‘bearish’ at the time of writing.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

On Friday, the company said it is still attempting to retrieve the vehicle's upper stage from the Indian Ocean after the last test flight in July.

On SpaceX’s August 4 second-quarter earnings call, Musk said Flight 14, targeted for later this month, will be the first attempt at reaching operational orbit.

SpaceX revealed earlier this month that it spent $1.08 billion in space segment research and development alone in Q2, predominantly covering Starship costs.

SpaceX said on Friday its recovery team is still attempting to retrieve the Starship upper stage from its 13th flight test after it landed in the Indian Ocean amid challenging conditions and increasingly rough seas, as crews try to guide the 52-meter spacecraft to port.

In a follow-up post on X, Elon Musk wrote that ship recovery “is not looking good right now.” He added that the team nonetheless obtained close-up photos of critical regions of the heat shield and engines for future upgrades.

SpaceX attempts to retrieve the Starship upper stage primarily to advance full reusability and accelerate development. Recovering it allows engineers to physically inspect the hardware and gather more data that can help validate upgrades.

Shares of the company closed up 16% on Friday, clocking its best day since mid-June.

Starship’s Flight 13

Starship’s 13th flight test lifted off on July 24 at 5:51 p.m. CT from Starbase, Texas—the second flight of the upgraded third version of the vehicle. After two earlier scrubs caused by an engine-related abort on July 16 and weather on the second try, the mission achieved several firsts. The Super Heavy booster of the two-stage launch vehicle completed its boostback burn but suffered a hard splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico after only a subset of engines ignited for landing.

The upper stage reached its planned suborbital trajectory, deployed 20 operational Starlink V3 satellites, marking the first such deployment, demonstrated an in-space Raptor engine relight, and executed a soft splashdown in the Indian Ocean. The ship remained intact and afloat—the softest and first intact ocean landing in the program—while continuing to transmit imagery of its heat shield.

Upcoming Starship Flights

On SpaceX’s August 4 second-quarter earnings call, Musk said Flight 14, targeted for late August, will be the first attempt at reaching operational orbit, carrying production Starlink satellites. The company plans to try catching both the booster and ship with the launch tower this year and “possibly” the ship as soon as the next flight.

He projected flight cadence rising rapidly to at least one launch per day within a year, calling the heat-shield challenge “solved” based on Flight 13 data and aiming ultimately to deliver well over one million tons to orbit annually.

Elon Musk envisions Starship as a fully and rapidly reusable, super-heavy-lift vehicle that will transform spaceflight by ultimately delivering up to 10 million tons to orbit each year, enabling humanity to become multiplanetary through a self-sustaining city on Mars within 20 to 30 years while also supporting lunar bases, massive Starlink expansion, and orbital AI data centers.

Development centers on iterative flight testing to achieve full reusability, with recent milestones including successful V3 flights, a solved heat-shield challenge, and plans to catch both the Super Heavy booster and Ship with the launch tower this year.

SpaceX revealed earlier this month that it spent $1.08 billion in space segment research and development alone in Q2, predominantly covering Starship costs.

How Did SPCX Retail Traders React?

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around SPCX stayed within ‘bullish’ territory over the past 24 hours, while message volume remained at ‘extremely high’ levels.

A Stocktwits user voiced hopes about SPCX rallying soon.

Another user, however, highlighted the company’s high Q2 loss despite its high valuation.

SPCX stock has fallen 17% after debuting on the Nasdaq in June.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

Wendy's reported its sixth consecutive quarter of declining U.S. same-store sales, with domestic comparable falling 7% in the latest quarter.

Revenue rose 1.7% to $571 million, while earnings came in at $0.18 per share, topping Wall Street estimates, although the company’s adjusted revenue came in below expectations.

The company withdrew its full-year 2026 financial outlook and cut its quarterly dividend to $0.07 per share from $0.14.

Wendy’s Co. (WEN) has reportedly lost its position as the second-largest burger chain in the U.S. by systemwide sales to Burger King, six years after it first overtook its rival.

According to a report from CNBC, Wendy’s slip comes amid a sharp divergence in performance between the two chains. Burger King, owned by Restaurant Brands International Inc. (QSR), has seen a steady improvement in its U.S. business, while Wendy’s is struggling with weakening traffic, a deteriorating value proposition and inconsistent customer experience.

Wendy’s Vs Burger King: Latest Performance

Burger King reported 8.5% U.S. same-store sales growth in the second quarter, marking its fifth consecutive quarter of domestic comparable-sales growth, driving a broader global comparable sales increase of 3.8% for its parent company.

Meanwhile, Wendy's reported its sixth consecutive quarter of declining U.S. same-store sales, with domestic comparable sales falling 7% in the latest quarter. Revenue rose 1.7% to $571 million, while earnings came in at $0.18 per share, topping Wall Street estimates. However, the company’s adjusted revenue came in below expectations.

“Our quality differentiation has eroded, our value proposition has weakened, and we have not consistently delivered the experience customers expect from Wendy’s,” CEO Bob Wright said on the company’s earnings call.

Wendy’s is now looking into a fresh turnaround effort. Wright said the company will focus on improving menu quality and value, strengthening marketing, improving restaurant operations, expanding its digital business and using its restaurant base to drive longer-term growth.

The company withdrew its full-year 2026 financial outlook and cut its quarterly dividend to $0.07 per share from $0.14.

Meanwhile, Burger King’s turnaround strategy, launched in late 2022 and focused on improving food quality, increasing marketing investment, and remodeling restaurants, has paid off.

McDonald’s Corp. (MCD) still remains the dominant player in the U.S. burger market, holding roughly 48% market share, according to Barclays, as per the CNBC report.

What Does Retail Think About WEN Stock?

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around WEN stock was ‘extremely bullish’ at the time of writing amid ‘high’ message volumes.

One user said, “$WEN had a mixed bag of an earnings report. Margin compression due to the cost of beef, which everyone is dealing with, but they had the highest revenue since Q4 2024. I see the current price as the evaluation reset and we're only going up from here, especially with the positive sentiment due to meme stock status. 15 dollars within 12 months.”

Another user said they were “confident in this turnaround.”

WEN stock is down more than 17% over the past year. Meanwhile, QSR stock has gained nearly 18% in the same time.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

Cloudflare predicts that machine-generated Internet traffic will surpass that generated by humans by 1,000 times in five years.

Burry turned the discussion to AI investment and returns.

SPCX stock notched a 23% weekly gain, and retail sentiment turned ‘bullish.’

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been touting an explosion in internet traffic driven by AI, and investor Michael Burry seized on those comments to turn the discussion to his favorite subject: whether AI investments are sustainable.

Burry, known for predicting the 2008 financial crisis, which was depicted in the movie “The Big Short,” argued that the expected surge in AI traffic may be a “low bar” and questioned who will ultimately pay for the AI.

“AI agentic Internet traffic will obviously VASTLY exceed human usage. Not a close call at all,” Musk said in an X post, sharing an excerpt from a new Cloudflare study that said bot traffic could exceed human traffic by a factor of 1,000 within five years. “Cloudflare’s forecast is accurate.”

Cloudflare previously predicted that machine-generated traffic would exceed human-generated throughput in 2027, but that happened earlier than expected in May 2026.

“In other words, humans will be a rounding error on the internet, not because human traffic goes down, but that’s just how fast we’re seeing non-human traffic grow,” Cloudflare CFO Thomas Seifert said in a new report, according to The Register.

Burry’s Positions Around AI

In response to Musk’s post, Burry wrote: “This is a lower bar than most think, and we still do not know who will pay for AI agents to socialize.”

Burry has continued to position against what he sees as an AI bubble, arguing that today’s AI infrastructure boom could eventually lead to excess capacity.

Since late 2025, he has built or expanded bearish positions in Nvidia, Palantir, Caterpillar, Applied Materials, Micron, Oracle, and Nebius. Last week, he exited his Microsoft long position amid a series of trades.

Five of the biggest U.S. tech companies – Amazon, Alphabet, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and Oracle – will spend about $800 billion in combined capital expenditures this year, according to the latest projections from their second-quarter results issued recently.

A majority of that spending will flow into AI development and new data centers, even as some pockets of the market remain skeptical about the returns on those investments and the durability of certain stock prices, particularly among semiconductor companies.

Musk’s Starlink Push

In separate posts on the weekend, Musk said Starlink’s V3 rollout could deliver more than 100 times the bandwidth of the current V2 system, while the company’s total constellation could eventually grow to more than 100,000 from the roughly 10,000 satellites currently in orbit.

“Yes, I expect the Starlink total constellation size, inclusive of direct-to-cell, to exceed 100k. Future versions of our satellites may exceed 50X the throughput of a V2, making the total system bandwidth even higher,” Musk said in the X post.

The remarks come as SpaceX steps up efforts to deploy its next-generation Starlink constellation. The company conducted the first Starship V3 test flight from its Texas Starbase facility, followed by the Flight 13 launch last month, which marked the deployment of the first next-generation Starlink V3 satellites.

Meanwhile, Cathie Wood’s ARK Investment Management has been loading up on SpaceX shares. The asset manager added 114,815 shares in SpaceX on Friday.

SpaceX stock rose 23% this week and is inching closer to its IPO price of $135 following declines after its listing on June 12. Last week, Bank of America raised the price target on Robinhood to $140 from $132 and maintained a ‘Buy’ rating on the shares after its second-quarter results, citing a strong organic growth trajectory and robust levels of retail activity.

CNBC’s Jim Cramer also endorsed the stock after its quarterly results, saying on ‘Mad Money’ that “I think Robinhood has a winning site, and I think it's going to continue to do well.”

Meanwhile, last month, Tom Lee, chairman of BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), called Robinhood’s new blockchain network one of 2026’s biggest crypto success stories, highlighting its rapid trading-volume growth and more than $1 billion in dollar volume just weeks after its July 1 launch.

Last month, Robinhood reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.62 for Q2, beating analysts’ estimates.

Trump Media, Crypto.com, and SPAC Yorkville Acquisition Corp. mutually dissolved plans for a dedicated CRO token treasury venture.

TMTG will transition to marketing Crypto.com’s products while expanding its high-margin API feed for algorithmic traders and AI models.

Interim CEO Kevin McGurn told Axios the strategic simplification aims to streamline operations as the firm prepares to close its proposed merger with nuclear fusion firm TAE before year-end.

Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) rose 3% on Friday following reports the company is stepping back from its ambitious cryptocurrency ventures and focusing on completing its proposed merger with TAE.

The Truth Social company plans to refocus resources on its core social network, expand data licensing, and advance a pending merger with TAE, a fusion energy firm, according to an exclusive interview with interim CEO Kevin McGurn published by Axios.

Strategic Pivot Out Of Crypto

The parent company of Truth Social has mutually agreed with digital asset platform Crypto.com and special purpose acquisition company Yorkville Acquisition Corp. to terminate plans for the "Trump Media Group CRO Strategy". The proposed venture, originally formulated during the 2025 cryptocurrency treasury surge, was designed to license the Trump Media brand to accumulate a large treasury of Crypto.com’s native CRO token on its Cronos blockchain.

When initial plans were unveiled last year, the companies projected the entity would become the first and largest publicly traded CRO treasury firm. However, the involved parties cited "prevailing market conditions and shifting business and stakeholder priorities" for abandoning the deal, Axios reported.

Restructuring Prediction Markets

In addition to scrapping the CRO treasury initiative, Trump Media and Crypto.com are scaling back plans to integrate prediction markets directly into the back-end infrastructure of Truth Social. Instead, the companies plan to enter a marketing partnership to promote Crypto.com's existing prediction-market tools to Truth Social’s user base.

McGurn explained to Axios that establishing proprietary back-end exchange infrastructure in a crowded prediction market was an inefficient use of corporate capital.

Moving forward, Trump Media sees greater opportunity in operating as a distribution and data partner rather than an operator of financial platforms. McGurn revealed to Axios that TMTG's enterprise API business has grown to approximately 10 direct clients, up from roughly five. These clients are primarily high-frequency quantitative trading firms that digest Truth Social activity to inform algorithmic trading strategies.

Further, McGurn told Axios that Trump Media remains optimistic about finalizing its proposed merger with TAE, a nuclear fusion energy company, prior to the end of the year.

DJT Stock: Retail View

Retail sentiment on Stocktwits was ‘bullish’ with ‘low’ message volumes.

DJT stock has lost about 23% year-to-date.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com. <

Microsoft could become SpaceX’s largest customer, having already signed more than 10GW of data-center contracts worth roughly $300 billion this year.

SpaceX could deploy 10GW or more of new data-center capacity by the end of 2027, potentially generating about $300 billion in annual recurring revenue.

MSFT and SPCX stocks have climbed sharply since their recent earnings reports.

AI inference could bring $100 billion in sales per gigawatt per year to AI companies, and Microsoft is well positioned to match up giant Anthropic and OpenAI, according to an analysis by semiconductor news site SemiAnalysis.

Based on proprietary models, the report estimates that frontier AI companies can generate more than $100 billion in annual revenue, highlighting the economics behind the rush to secure compute.

AI inference is the process of running a trained AI model in the cloud to generate responses, predictions, or outputs for users in real time.

Microsoft vs OpenAI And Anthropic

Beyond OpenAI and Anthropic, Microsoft is capable of printing such economics per GW. “Having full access to OpenAI models, they can generate the same revenue and margin per MW, while paying none of the training costs,” SemiAnalysis wrote.

“Satya [Nadella] nailed the negotiations with OpenAI: the deal reworked in April 2026 dropped the old 20% revenue share from the equation. Put simply, Microsoft has a giant incentive to procure as many MWs as possible, as fast as possible.”

While much of Microsoft’s data-center capacity currently goes to OpenAI, it has the opportunity to improve that mix, with the potential for Microsoft Azure accelerating its revenue growth from about 42% year over year currently to over 100% by next year.

Microsoft is already preparing for a significant data center ramp-up. The second-biggest cloud company signed 10GW of contracts year-to-date, for over $300B of total contract value. SemiAnalysis expects much more to be signed for capacity that would come online over the next two years.

Even SpaceX is emerging as a strong challenger in the compute market. CEO Elon Musk said during SpaceX’s first earnings report that the company “conservatively” expects to build and deliver an additional 6GW to 8GW of capacity next year, with the potential to exceed 10GW. SemiAnalysis said its analysis of potential sites, power equipment and construction timelines suggests the target is achievable.

SpaceX’s Push In Cloud Market

SemiAnalysis estimates SpaceX could reach about $300 billion in ARR even if only half of its incremental 2027 capacity is monetized, with the remainder used by xAI and Cursor for training.

SpaceX’s ability to build data centers rapidly could give it an advantage as AI companies face severe shortages of power and compute. The company built the 300MW Colossus 1 facility in 122 days, while its Southaven power plant expanded from 495MW in February to 1.7GW in July, the report said.

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment was ‘neutral’ for MSFT and ‘bullish’ for SpaceX on Monday. MSFT stock has gained over 28% since its earnings report on July 20, while SPCX has climbed 15.5% since its report on Aug 12.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

The decision marks the biotech’s first marketed product and follows two prior complete response letters and a 10-3 advisory committee vote in late July recommending the therapy.

However, an accelerated approval, unlike a traditional approval, requires the company to conduct confirmatory trials after approval to demonstrate efficacy and provide additional proof of benefit.

What Are Replimune’s Chances For Full Approval?

Historically, around half to two-thirds of FDA accelerated approvals convert to full approval, while 13–22% are withdrawn when confirmatory trials fail to verify benefit.

For cancer drugs specifically, one analysis published in 2024 of 2013–2017 approvals found that 63% were converted, 22% were withdrawn, and 15% were still ongoing after more than five years.

According to the FDA’s database for accelerated approvals that were withdrawn for cancer, the latest withdrawal was for Epizyme-developed Tazverik. Tazverik was granted accelerated approval in 2020 and withdrawn in June.

Other drugs to have lost accelerated approval in certain indications include Karyopharm Therapeutics’s Xpovio, Gilead Sciences’s Trodelvy, and even the blockbuster cancer drug Keytruda, manufactured by Merck.

Unlike some other tumor types, melanoma accelerated approval indications have overwhelmingly either converted or remain active with confirmatory work underway. No melanoma entries appear among the withdrawn cancer accelerated approval indications on the FDA’s public list, implying that melanoma drugs granted accelerated approval have a much better conversion track record than the overall oncology average.

Keytruda, for one, was granted accelerated approval in September 2014 for unresectable or metastatic melanoma after progression on ipilimumab and later granted full approval. Opdivo, likewise, was granted accelerated approval in 2014 and was later granted full approval.

Replimune’s Current Status

Replimune’s accelerated approval was based on the company’s IGNYTE trial, where among 91 evaluable patients, the combination delivered a 24.2% objective response rate and a median duration of response of 14.1 months. The confirmatory trial is now ongoing, and complete overall survival data are expected in 2030. An interim overall survival analysis has also been planned for the second half of 2027.

As of March 31, Replimune had $268.9 million in cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments. Replimune expects its current capital to last into the first quarter of calendar 2027, meaning it would run out before the trials end.

Analysts Weigh In

BMO Capital raised its price target to $20 from $16 and maintained an ‘Outperform’ rating on Replimune following the approval. The firm said the regulatory win validates Replimune’s RPx platform, removes major uncertainty, and shifts focus to commercial execution and potential market-share gains in refractory melanoma.

Wedbush upgraded the stock to ‘Outperform’ from ‘Neutral’ and lifted its target to $19 from $12. Analysts called the approval a meaningful vindication of the data despite prior rejections.

Commercial Opportunity

Replimune management indicated on a call after approval that the lower labeled efficacy is unlikely to hinder adoption of its drug, given the high unmet need.

Replimune estimates about 10,000 addressable U.S. patients per year. The firm has set a list price of $450,000 for a full course of Tudriqev treatment. Analysts project that the drug could generate peak annual U.S. sales ranging from about $600 million to around $1 billion.

At full penetration of the near 10,000 patient pool, theoretical gross revenue could exceed $4 billion, but real-world uptake, discounts, duration of therapy, and competition will limit actual sales.

Replimune has never reported a profit, mostly because the company didn’t have a marketable product until recently.

How Did REPL Retail Traders React?

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around REPL Stock fell from ‘bearish’ to ‘extremely bearish’ territory over the past 24 hours, while message volume stayed at ‘extremely high’ levels.

A Stocktwits user said the company has too many red flags and headwinds.

Another user pinned the stock’s 7% drop on Friday on short-sellers who lost money after the FDA approval, making risky bets that the stock would tank soon.

REPL stock has gained 24% year-to-date.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.

SpaceX's revenue nearly doubled year over year last quarter.

RKLB rose a sharp 27.5% last week while ASTS added 22%, boosted by SpaceX’s report in the week prior and new contract wins.

Stocktwits sentiment was ‘bullish’ for both stocks early Monday.

Shares of Rocket Lab (RKLB) and AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) rose 2.4% and 0.6%, respectively, in premarket trading Monday ahead of their quarterly results due after the market close, with both stocks showing signs of a strong setup.

RKLB stock rose a sharp 27.5% this week while ASTS rose 22% boosted by SpaceX’s report in the week prior and new contract wins.

SpaceX Earnings Results Lifts Space Trade

SpaceX's revenue nearly doubled, the rocket company said in its first earnings report since going public, fueled by its booming Starlink satellite communications and AI businesses.

The company reported April-June revenue of $7.8 billion, compared with $4.1 billion a year earlier, beating Wall Street expectations from analysts polled by LSEG/Reuters.

Starlink revenue, which accounted for over half of total revenue, rose 66%, and revenue from SpaceX's AI business — which Musk has pitched as the company's future growth driver — surged about 250%.

Revenue from the space segment, which includes commercial launches, government missions and development of Starship, revenue grew 29%. The results allayed investor concerns over SpaceX’s high spending, with the stock rising 16% since the quarterly report was issued on Aug. 3.

Retail View On RKLB, ASTS

On Stocktwits, retail sentiment was ‘bullish’ for both RKLB and ASTS, with the tickers trending at various points earlier in the day.

“$ASTS a beat and raise [is] imminent. AST SpaceMobile entered this quarter with roughly $1.2 billion in contracted revenue commitments. Then came J-LEO,” a trader said.

“Japan approved up to 148B yen (~$900M+) of government support, covering up to 50% of eligible project costs. That implies roughly $1.8B+ of total project spending. Assume ~70% ultimately flows to AST for satellites, gateways and network infrastructure, with ~30% going toward Mitsubishi launch costs.” they said.

On the RKLB stream, a trader wrote: “I’ve watched $RKLB for a long time and started building a position in early 2025. The more I dug in, the more it came back to Peter Beck. No theatrics, no constant hype — just engineering, execution and a long-term obsession with the mission. I’ve backed great founders before, and Beck gives me that same feeling. That’s why RKLB became a core holding for me.”

RKLB, ASTS: Analyst Expectations, Recent Catalysts

Analysts expect Rocket Lab’s quarterly revenue to grow 15% from a quarter ago to $230.94 million, although its adjusted loss is projected to widen to $0.05 per share from $0.02, per estimates from Koyfin. The company’s EBITDA loss is also forecast to nearly double to $22.12 million.

The report would follow a $397 million Space Force award to build, launch and operate satellites that track airborne threats and a $266 million contract for 12 suborbital launches with options for six more.

Analysts expect AST SpaceMobile’s quarterly revenue to surge 133% from the previous quarter to $34.4 million, while its adjusted loss is projected to narrow to $0.23 per share from $0.66.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

MU stock gained 6.6% this week.

Investors sold off SanDisk and Western Digital stocks after their results announcements.

Retail sentiment for MU was ‘bearish’ on Sunday.

Micron Technology’s stock raced past peers SanDisk and Western Digital to notch weekly gains and investors are turning to its presentation at a key analyst event on Monday, during which some expect the company to adjust its forward guidance.

This week, investors sold off SanDisk and Western Digital stocks after their earnings results. SNDK declined 0.2% and WDC shed over 20%, while MU surged 6.6%.

SanDisk and Western Digital reported another set of remarkable results. However, SanDisk’s first-quarter guidance came in short of Wall Street’s lofty expectations and weighed on the market sentiment for memory chipmakers, including Micron.

“Micron will be presenting tomorrow (August 10) at 10 am ET at the KeyBanc Capital Markets Technology Leadership Forum,” said a trader posted on Stocktwits. “Last year management raised guidance at this forum, and the stock popped 7.2%,” they said, adding that Micron stock could surge to around $950 on Monday.

Notably, Keybanc analyst John Vinh raised his price target for Micron to $1,750 from $1, 600 on July 14. Retail sentiment for Micron fell in the past week and was ‘bearish’ as of late Sunday, amid ‘low’ message volume.

Citi Cuts MU Stock Target

On Friday, Citi trimmed its price target on Micron stock to $1,150 from $1,400 while keeping a ‘Buy’ rating, citing “mixed” earnings from SanDisk and Western Digital and a more tempered outlook for DRAM and NAND pricing heading into next year

"We trim MU TP to $1,150 from $1,400 based on 8x P/E vs prior 10x times revised C27 EPS to reflect lower market multiples on mixed memory peer results," the Citi analyst wrote, according to the firm's investor note.

The revision came after Citi met with memory supply-chain players and third-party experts at the “Future of Memory and Storage” conference. The key takeaway was that pricing remains on an upward trajectory for both DRAM and NAND, but the momentum is beginning to ease.

"We see both DRAM and NAND prices decelerating Q/Q in the next four quarters with prices peaking in 2Q of next year," the analyst said. Memory stocks tend to move in line with expectations for memory prices over the next several quarters.

Micron Stock Move

Micron has become the bellwether memory chip stock in the U.S. market. Chipmakers’ shares have been under pressure lately, with wild swings in South Korea’s heavily Samsung Electronics- and SK Hynix-weighted market, along with SK Hynix’s Nasdaq listing last month, adding to volatility in the memory trade.

Micron stock plunged 29% in July, marking its worst monthly performance since June 2005, underscoring how investors are increasingly looking at the durability of the memory supercycle.

Micron stock is down 30% from its peak on June 25. Year to date, the shares remain 205% higher.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<

Apple is considering a screenless fitness band which could resemble the Whoop band, Bloomberg reported.

Apple has been testing memory chips from China's CXMT across product lines in China, including the iPhones and MacBooks, Reuters reported.

Apple will announce new iPhones, including the highly anticipated foldable iPhone, in September.

Apple is making a number of moves behind the scenes to position itself strongly in a changing hardware market, just as incoming CEO John Ternus prepares to officially take over next month.

Apple is reportedly working on a screenless fitness band that could resemble the Whoop band, according to a new report in Bloomberg, at a time when the product category is getting more attention with the entry of Garmin and Google’s Fitbit.

Apple is indeed taking this industry shift seriously, according to the report, which added that the company is considering new devices with no displays, as well as different types of screens and various sizes, including round screens.

The Foldable iPhone Is One Of Apple’s Biggest Catalysts

One of the biggest draws this year will be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is likely to be announced in September. It would be the only major form-factor change in the iPhone’s two-decade history.

The September launch will be the first under Ternus. Apple issued a weak forecast last week, which overshadowed a strong fiscal third-quarter report. Apple faces pressure from elevated memory chip costs and raised prices for its Macs, iPads and Watches last month but kept iPhone prices unchanged for now.

On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment for AAPL climbed over the week and was ‘bullish’ on Sunday. AAPL shares rose 1.4% this week and are up 15.5% year to date.

Apple Tests Chinese Memory Chips For IPhones, Mac

Meanwhile, Apple has been testing memory chips from China's CXMT across ‌product lines in China including the iPhones and MacBooks, to mitigate a component shortage fueled by the AI boom, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.

Laptop makers HP and Acer have started using CXMT memory chips in devices sold outside the U.S., the newspaper said.

Apple has been lobbying to allow it to contract CXMT in recent months amid a regulatory grey area, according to past reports. CXMT is not currently on the U.S. Commerce Department’s Entity List, although Washington has considered adding it and has imposed export controls that restrict its access to advanced chipmaking technology.

It is, however, on a Pentagon blacklist tied to alleged Chinese military links, which has created separate restrictions.

If Apple contracts CXMT, it would add competition in the conventional memory market, but HBM should remain relatively insulated where Micron and SK Hynix benefit most from AI demand.

China’s memory chip giant CXMT has become the talk of the town from the U.S. to Asia. And American chipmakers are taking notice. CXMT raised 57.92 billion yuan ($8.6 billion) in its Shanghai IPO last month, making it Asia’s biggest listing this year.

The stock then soared an eye-popping 466% on its trading debut, lifting the company’s market capitalization to about $487 billion, the highest among companies listed on mainland Chinese exchanges and above Intel’s market value of $462.38 billion at the time.

Apple Brings Alibaba’s Qwen To Macs In China

Apple’s China strategy extends beyond hardware. Reuters reported that Apple published guidance explaining how eligible Mac users in mainland China can connect Alibaba's Qwen AI to the company's Siri assistant and Writing Tools feature.

The arrangement, which comes a year after Apple and Alibaba announced a partnership, could help Apple compete in China's AI PC market.

For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.<
