March 30 is celebrated as World Idli Day, a special day dedicated to one of India's most loved breakfast dishes. The day was first celebrated in 2015 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. What makes it even more interesting is the story of the man behind it - M Eniyavan. His journey is not just about food, but also about hard work, creativity and never giving up.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Eniyavanidly (@eniyavanidly)

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Eniyavanidly (@eniyavanidly)

A simple meeting that changed everything

Eniyavan’s life took a turning point in an unexpected way. Years ago, when he was working as an auto-rickshaw driver, he once picked up a passenger carrying a large container of idli batter. Her name was Chandra, and she supplied idlis to local eateries. Watching her work gave him a new idea. He realised that the idli business could be started by anyone with simple resources.

This moment inspired him to try something new, according to an article published in Indian Express.

Also Read: Valmiki Became 'Sultan' To Escape Law, But After 21 Years On The Run, Police Finally Catch Up

From struggle to starting his own business

Eniyavan came to Chennai in 1997 at the age of 27, hoping to build a better life and escape poverty. He tried different small jobs before becoming an auto driver. Inspired by Chandra, he decided to start making and selling idlis from his home in RK Nagar.

However, his journey was not easy. On the very first day of his business, heavy rains flooded his house. The water entered his kitchen, damaged his idli steamer and spoiled the batter.

Despite this setback, he did not give up. He repaired his equipment over the next 20 days and restarted his work with determination.

Adding creativity to a simple dish

What made Eniyavan stand out was his creativity. He did not want idli to remain just a basic breakfast item. The idea of innovation started at home. When his daughter asked for pizza, he created an idli version of it by adding vegetables and spices to the batter. She loved it.

This encouraged him to try more ideas. He made chocolate idlis, pudina (mint) idlis and even beetroot idlis to make food more interesting for his children. He also experimented with ingredients. For example, he used tender coconut water instead of plain water while preparing the batter, making the idlis both tasty and healthy.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Eniyavanidly (@eniyavanidly)

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Eniyavanidly (@eniyavanidly)

Taking idli to a bigger stage

His passion kept growing. In 2012, his catering company designed special heart-shaped idli plates on February 14. Later, he organised a unique event where he displayed 1,000 different varieties of idlis at Vivekananda Vidyalaya Junior College.

The event attracted around 14,000 people and received wide attention. Many were surprised to see how a simple idli could be turned into so many forms.

This event became a major step in promoting idli on a larger scale.

Also Read: 'It Was My First Accident': Jaipur Woman Says Sorry After Damaging Motorcycle in Viral Video (WATCH)

How world idli day was born

Impressed by his efforts, Rajamani, president of Samayal Sangam, declared March 30 as World Idli Day. The first celebration took place in 2015 in Chennai. Since then, the day has been observed every year, with people celebrating the taste and comfort of idlis.

Eniyavan believes idli is not just food, but an emotion. He says it is so soft and comforting that even babies who refuse milk can be fed mashed idlis.

A life changed by passion

Eniyavan’s life has changed completely over the years. From struggling to survive, he now travels, stays in good hotels and is invited to speak at colleges. He has also built a better life for his family and educated his children.

Looking ahead, he plans to expand his business further by opening hotels across Chennai. His goal is to make idli recognised not just as a breakfast item, but as a global food.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Eniyavanidly (@eniyavanidly)

A story that inspires

Eniyavan’s journey shows how a simple idea and strong determination can change a person’s life. From a chance meeting to creating a global food day, his story continues to inspire many.

On World Idli Day, his journey reminds us that even the simplest things can achieve great success.

Spain's leftist government said Monday it had fined Airbnb more than 64 million euros ($75 million), notably for advertising banned rental properties, at a time the country faces a housing crisis.

The fine is final, the consumer affairs ministry said in a statement, adding the US holiday-rental giant must "correct the violations by deleting illegal content".

The ministry said 65,122 adverts on Airbnb breached consumer rules, including the promotion of properties without a licence or those whose licence number did not match with data in registers.

The fine is equivalent to six times the illegal profit made by Airbnb between the time the company was warned about the offending adverts and when they were taken down, the ministry added.

Airbnb to challenge the fine in court

A company spokesperson said Airbnb would challenge the fine in court, "confident that the ministry of consumer affairs' actions are contrary to applicable regulations in Spain".

Airbnb was "closely collaborating" with the housing ministry to implement a new registration system, with more than 70,000 listings adding a registration number since January and remaining available for booking, the spokesperson added.

A tourism boom has driven the buoyant Spanish economy, which is predicted to grow at more than double the eurozone average in 2025.

The world's second most-visited country hosted a record 94 million foreign tourists in 2024 and is on course to surpass that figure this year.

But the bonanza has fuelled local concern in tourist hotspots such as Barcelona about increasingly scarce and unaffordable housing, a top priority for the minority coalition government.

Residents complain that landlords convert residential properties into short-term rentals and say tourism is changing the fabric of their neighbourhoods.

"There are thousands of families who are living on the edge due to housing, while a few get rich with business models that expel people from their homes," far-left consumer rights minister Pablo Bustinduy said in the ministry statement.

"We'll prove it as many times as necessary: no company, no matter how big or powerful, is above the law. Even less so when it comes to housing," he added on social network Bluesky.

In June, the consumer rights ministry also ordered online accommodation giant Booking.com to take down more than 4,000 illegal adverts.

(Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by Asianet Newsable English staff and is published from a syndicated feed)

New Delhi: India welcomes lakhs of foreign tourists every day. Visitors come to explore the country’s natural beauty, ancient monuments, historical places, and famous temples. Over the past ten years, many tourists have started capturing these experiences on their phones and sharing them on social media. For some, travel content has even become a full-time profession.

Recently, a foreign woman’s video about India has gone viral, but not for the reason many first expected.

A viral reel with a surprising message

A foreign tourist named Jenny, who visited India with her partner Adam, shared a reel with the caption “Be careful with Indians.” At first glance, the message seems like a warning. However, the video carries a warm and positive meaning.

Jenny explains that people should be careful because Indians “steal your heart” with their kindness and warmth. The reel has touched millions online and shows smiling Indians of all ages, including children, happily waving at her.

Video crosses 1.3 million views

The reel shared by Jenny and Adam has received more than 1.3 million views and hundreds of comments. Many social media users praised India and its people in the comment section.

One user wrote, “India is not just a country, it is a beautiful world within the world.” Another comment said, “Indians are humble and very protective of tourists.” Some users also highlighted that people in southern India treat tourists with great care and respect, like family members.

‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ reflected in daily life

India is known for its belief in ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, which means the guest is God. This idea is deeply rooted in Indian culture. Even when people do not share a common language, locals often communicate politely and try their best to help visitors.

Many foreign tourists who experience this hospitality later share their stories online. These positive experiences are one of the main reasons why tourism in India continues to grow.

What Jenny shows in her viral video

In her viral reel, Jenny includes several small but meaningful moments from her trip. The video shows people greeting her with smiles, children waving happily, and locals welcoming her warmly.

She has also shared other videos from her journey across India. These clips show hotel staff offering kind service, people greeting her with ‘namaste’ on the beach, friendly chats with auto drivers, and relaxed conversations with fellow travellers.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Jenny & Adam | India Travel Creators & Tour Designers Delhi (@best.che.vamos)

This is not the first time a foreign tourist’s video about India has gone viral. Earlier, another foreign woman shared a reel from in front of the Taj Mahal in Agra, where she was dressed like an Indian bride in a red lehenga.

She captioned her video “Don’t come to India”, but later explained that India’s culture, beauty, and warmth make visitors fall so deeply in love that they do not want to leave.

Social media shaping India’s global image

Such videos play a big role in shaping how the world sees India today. Through short reels and posts, tourists share real moments from their journeys. These honest experiences often show India as a place filled with warmth, colour, culture, and kind people.

For many viewers around the world, these videos act as an invitation to explore India themselves.

Tej Pratap Yadav has launched a new Instagram page where he shares videos showing devotion to Lord Shiva. He speaks about spirituality, ego and life’s temporary nature. Known earlier as Krishna devotee, his posts show a shift towards Shiva bhakti.

Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and a former minister in Bihar, is once again in the news. This time, it is not for politics but for his spiritual side. He has created a new Instagram page named 'santtejpratapyadav' and has been sharing posts on devotion and spirituality.

On this new page, he has posted videos where he appears dressed in saffron clothes, showing himself as a devotee of Lord Shiva. The videos have quickly caught public attention and sparked discussion online.

Videos show strong Shiva devotion

In the videos shared on his new page, Tej Pratap is seen talking about the importance of Lord Shiva and spiritual life. In one video, he explains how “bhasma” (ash) is very dear to Lord Shiva. He says that everything in life is temporary and will one day turn to ash.
    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Tej Pratap Yadav (@santtejpratapyadav)

He also speaks about leaving ego behind and living a peaceful life. He advises people not to fight and instead focus on devotion and good actions.
    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Tej Pratap Yadav (@santtejpratapyadav)

In another video, he is seen holding a damru, a small musical instrument linked with Lord Shiva. He explains that the sound of the damru is connected to the beginning of the universe. According to him, Lord Shiva used the damru at the time of creation.
    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Tej Pratap Yadav (@santtejpratapyadav)

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Tej Pratap Yadav (@santtejpratapyadav)

Spiritual message shared online

Tej Pratap has also included the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra on his new page, which is a well-known prayer dedicated to Lord Shiva. Through his posts, he appears to be promoting spiritual thinking and devotion.
    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Tej Pratap Yadav (@santtejpratapyadav)

His page bio also talks about spreading Vedic knowledge and connecting people to religion. He often says “Har Har Mahadev” in his posts and videos.

Tej Pratap Yadav has long been known for his interest in spirituality. Earlier, he was widely seen as a devotee of Lord Krishna. He often spoke about Krishna in his speeches and shared pictures related to his devotion on social media.

— Tej Pratap Yadav (@TejYadav14) June 1, 2025

Patna, Bihar: On RJD leader Rohini Acharya's tweet, Former Minister Tej Pratap Yadav says, "...Whoever dares to insult my sister, the divine Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Krishna will come into motion" pic.twitter.com/JPhS9qKtGE

— IANS (@ians_india) September 20, 2025

He has also visited Vrindavan many times and even dressed as Lord Krishna during Janmashtami celebrations. In 2018 and 2019, when he was a minister, he dressed as Lord Shiva and visited temples in Patna and Baba Dham in Deoghar.

A shift in focus

In recent times, however, his social media content shows a stronger focus on Shiva devotion. Many people believe this marks a shift from his earlier Krishna bhakti to a more Shaivite path.

Some social media users have even described him as a “saint-like figure” due to his saffron clothes, rudraksha beads, and calm manner in videos.

Tej Pratap’s spiritual turn comes after a difficult period in his personal and political life. He was removed from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) before the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. He also had differences with his family, including his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav.

After leaving RJD, he formed his own party, Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), where he serves as the national president. However, he did not achieve success in the elections and lost by a large margin.

These setbacks are believed by some to have pushed him closer to spirituality.

Tej Pratap is also active on social media and has tried different roles over time. He has run a YouTube channel showing his daily life and interests.

He has also shared moments from his personal life, including his love for travel, vehicles, and public events. His lifestyle videos often showed a mix of luxury and simple living.

In 2025, he even cleared the initial stage of pilot training for a commercial pilot licence. He also expressed support for the Indian armed forces during Operation Sindoor.

The videos have received strong and mixed reactions on social media. Many users criticised the act and questioned the intent behind the new content.

Some users called it a 'new beginning', while others referred to it as a 'Plan C'. A few people also questioned whether the shift in content was linked to his recent political developments.

At the same time, several users pointed out that Tej Pratap Yadav has long been involved in religious activities and devotion, especially towards Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva.

Meet ‘Sant’ #TejPratapYadav!Plan A: Politics — kaam chal gaya, lekin zyada successful nahi Plan B: YouTuber — thoda try kiya, phir exit Plan C: Sant Tej Pratap Yadav — ab naya avatar ON #TejPratapYadav #Politics #Viral #IndianPolitics #MemeMaterial pic.twitter.com/Divs92VkZ3

— Trending Topics with Faiz (@newswithaftab14) March 22, 2026

BREAKING Lalu Prasad Yadav's Eldest Son, Tej Pratap Yadav...Has Now Become "Saint Tej Pratap Yadav." Now he will ruin the businesses of the pundits #BiharDiwas #DhurandharRevenge#Dhurandhar2‌ #Dhurandhar2‌ను pic.twitter.com/GU60GkoYv5

— Shruti Dhore (@ShrutiDhore) March 22, 2026

— Ranjan Singh (@RanjanSinghh_) March 20, 2026

Some comments also linked his new direction to his political isolation, while others said he has always been spiritual.

Continuing his own path

Despite criticism and questions, Tej Pratap continues to post regularly on his new page.

Maha Shivaratri 2026 will be celebrated on February 15 and is observed only once a year, unlike Shivratri, which comes every month. The festival marks Lord Shiva's appearance as a Shivling and is worshipped only at night in four prahars.

Maha Shivaratri is one of the most important festivals for Hindus who worship Lord Shiva. Many people think Shivratri and Maha Shivaratri are the same, but religious texts clearly say they are different. While Shivratri comes every month, Maha Shivaratri is celebrated only once a year and has special spiritual value.

According to Hindu religious texts, Maha Shivaratri is observed on the Chaturdashi Tithi of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Phalgun. In 2026, Maha Shivaratri will be celebrated on Sunday, February 15.

It is believed that on this night, Lord Shiva appeared for the first time in the form of a Shivling. In this form, he tested Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma. Because of this belief, devotees worship Shiva with great devotion on this night every year.

Shivratri, also known as Masik Shivratri or Shiva Chaturdashi, is observed every month. It falls on the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi of each lunar month. This means Shivratri is celebrated 12 times in a year.

Because Maha Shivaratri comes only once a year, it is considered more powerful and more important than the monthly Shivratri fasts.

Why worship is done only at night

Both Shivratri and Maha Shivaratri are observed mainly at night. Religious belief says that Lord Shiva appeared as a Shivling during the night hours. That is why devotees worship him throughout the night.

The worship is done in four prahars, or four parts of the night. After completing the fast and night prayers, devotees break the fast the next day.

Many people believe that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married on Maha Shivaratri. However, this belief is not mentioned in the Shiva Purana.

Some scholars say that the festival is linked to the appearance of the 12 Jyotirlingas on this day, not the wedding of Shiva and Parvati. This belief differs across regions but is widely followed.

Maha Shivaratri is seen as a night of spiritual growth, self-control, and devotion. Devotees fast, chant mantras, and stay awake to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings. Compared to monthly Shivratri, this festival holds deeper religious meaning and importance.

As therapy becomes expensive and access harder, many young people are turning to ChatGPT for emotional support. This feature explores why AI has become a confessional space and what this shift reveals about loneliness and mental health today.

There is a specific kind of solitude that defines modern life. It does not arrive with silence but with noise, messages, notifications and screens that never truly switch off. And yet, beneath all that connectivity, many people find themselves without a place to deposit their real thoughts. Somewhere between overworked friendships, expensive therapy sessions and the pressure to hold it together, a curious habit has formed. People open ChatGPT late at night and begin to confess.

Not because they believe it is a therapist, but because it is there.

ChatGPT was created as a language model designed to generate and understand text. What it has quietly become, however, is an emotional holding space for millions who feel unheard. This shift is not the result of marketing or design intent. It is the result of unmet needs. When systems of care feel distant and human attention feels scarce, people turn to what is available, consistent and responsive.

The data behind emotional outsourcing

The use of conversational AI for emotional support is no longer marginal. Research conducted by youth wellbeing organisations has shown that a significant number of adolescents and young adults already use AI chatbots to talk through stress, anxiety and personal dilemmas. Studies published in medical and psychological research journals indicate that many users engage with large language models for emotional processing on a regular basis.

At the same time, global health bodies have reported that loneliness affects a sizeable portion of the population, with the highest prevalence consistently found among younger age groups. Mental health systems across countries are under strain, facing long waiting periods and shortages of trained professionals. In such conditions, the appeal of an always available conversational tool becomes understandable rather than surprising.

Why talking to a machine feels easier than talking to people

The emotional appeal of ChatGPT lies not in intelligence but in safety. It listens without reacting emotionally. It does not interrupt, invalidate or drift away. It does not carry expectations or fatigue. For individuals who worry about burdening others or being misunderstood, this neutrality can feel profoundly comforting.

Psychological research has long established that people disclose more openly in low judgement environments. ChatGPT unintentionally creates such a space. The absence of human consequence allows users to articulate thoughts they might otherwise suppress. This does not require belief in the intelligence of the system. It requires only the feeling of being heard.

What ChatGPT actually provides in emotional conversations

From a functional perspective, ChatGPT excels at reflection and organisation. Academic analyses of AI assisted mental health tools suggest that conversational models can help users structure chaotic thoughts, label emotions and consider general coping strategies. In professional settings, mental health practitioners have reported using AI tools for supportive tasks such as drafting notes or summarising information rather than for diagnosis or treatment.

For personal users, the benefit often lies in translation. ChatGPT turns emotional confusion into coherent language. During moments of distress, that clarity alone can create a sense of control. It does not heal, but it can stabilise.

Where comfort risks becoming illusion

The ease of AI based emotional support also carries risk. ChatGPT does not possess clinical judgement or long term contextual awareness. Professional bodies and psychological associations have cautioned that no AI tool should be treated as a substitute for trained care, particularly for serious mental health conditions.

Language models are designed to predict and generate text, not to assess risk or provide moral accountability. The empathy they express is simulated rather than experienced. When users begin to rely exclusively on this form of support, they may delay seeking professional help or meaningful human connection.

What this phenomenon says about society

The rise of ChatGPT as an emotional outlet reveals unmet needs rather than misplaced trust. It reflects cultures where vulnerability is encouraged rhetorically but structurally unsupported. It reflects systems where care is difficult to access and emotional labour is unevenly distributed.

People are not choosing machines over humans because they prefer them. They are turning to what is available when alternatives feel inaccessible.

Using ChatGPT without losing human connection

The healthiest role for ChatGPT is supplemental rather than central. It can help users articulate feelings before sharing them with others. It can assist in preparing difficult conversations or clarifying internal thoughts. It should not become the sole container for emotional experiences.

If someone finds that their most honest conversations exist only within a chat window, the issue lies beyond the technology.

The larger truth behind modern confession

ChatGPT is the therapist we never book but constantly confess to because emotional access has become uneven. The blinking cursor is not evidence of emotional dependence on technology. It is evidence of a persistent need to be heard.

Until mental health care becomes easier to reach and emotional support feels more sustainable in human relationships, people will continue to seek relief wherever it is offered. For now, that relief sometimes comes from typing into a quiet interface that listens without asking anything in return.

India is facing renewed concern over Nipah virus in West Bengal and bird flu in Bihar. While both are zoonotic diseases, Nipah virus is deadlier for humans, with a fatality rate of 40-75% and no approved treatment or vaccine.

India has recently faced renewed health concerns due to two dangerous zoonotic diseases -- Nipah virus and bird flu (avian influenza). In early 2026, confirmed Nipah cases in West Bengal and bird flu detections in Bihar have raised questions among health experts and the public alike.

Both diseases spread from animals to humans. Both can be deadly. But which one is more dangerous for humans, and why?

This explainer clearly breaks down the facts, risks, symptoms, fatality rates, and public health impact of both infections -- in simple language, without fear-mongering.

In January 2026, health authorities in West Bengal confirmed multiple Nipah virus infections. Surveillance teams were activated, hundreds of contacts were traced, and isolation protocols were enforced. The World Health Organization (WHO) said the risk of large-scale spread was low but warned that the virus is extremely lethal and requires strict control.

At the same time, bird flu outbreaks were detected in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, where thousands of crows were found dead. The infection was confirmed as avian influenza, prompting animal health surveillance and public warnings to prevent human exposure.

These two events have again highlighted the danger posed by diseases that jump from animals to humans.

A zoonotic disease is an infection that spreads from animals to humans. This can happen through:

Direct contact with infected animals

Eating contaminated food

Exposure to animal waste

Close contact with infected people (in some cases)

Both Nipah virus and bird flu fall into this category, but they behave very differently once they infect humans.

What is the Nipah virus?

The Nipah virus (NiV) is a highly dangerous virus that affects both animals and humans. It was first identified during an outbreak in Malaysia and Singapore in 1998–99, mainly among pig farmers.

Natural host of Nipah virus

The virus lives naturally in fruit bats of the Pteropus genus

These bats do not fall sick, but they can spread the virus

Pigs, horses, and other animals can act as intermediate hosts

Humans can get infected through:

Eating fruit or raw date palm sap contaminated by bat saliva or urine

Direct contact with infected animals such as pigs

Close physical contact with infected people

Exposure in hospitals with poor infection control

Unlike many animal diseases, Nipah can spread from human to human, especially among family members, caregivers, and healthcare workers.

Symptoms of Nipah virus infection

The illness usually begins suddenly.

Early symptoms

Fever

Headache

Muscle pain

Weakness

Vomiting

Severe symptoms

Within 24 to 48 hours, the infection can worsen and cause:

Confusion

Seizures

Brain inflammation (encephalitis)

Difficulty breathing

Coma

In many cases, the disease progresses very fast.

According to the World Health Organization, the fatality rate of Nipah virus ranges from 40% to 75%. This means 4 to 7 out of every 10 infected people may die, depending on the outbreak and medical care available.

Even survivors are not always fully safe. Around 1 in 5 people who recover may suffer long-term brain problems, such as memory loss or personality changes.

Is there any treatment or vaccine for Nipah virus?

There is no approved medicine or vaccine for Nipah virus. Treatment mainly involves:

Oxygen support

Ventilators for breathing

Treating brain swelling

Fluids and nutrition

Careful monitoring in hospitals

WHO says early supportive care can save lives, but prevention remains the best defence.

Nipah outbreaks have been reported in:

Malaysia

Singapore

Bangladesh

India

Philippines

In India, cases have been reported several times, especially in Kerala. The latest outbreak in 2026 was detected in West Bengal, where health teams quickly acted to stop further spread.

Bird flu, also known as avian influenza, is caused by influenza A viruses that mainly infect birds. Common subtypes include:

H5N1

H9N2

These viruses circulate widely among wild birds and poultry.

How bird flu spreads to humans

Human infection is rare and usually happens through:

Direct contact with infected birds

Touching bird droppings

Handling dead poultry

Exposure to contaminated surfaces

Importantly, bird flu does not spread easily between humans.

Symptoms of bird flu in humans

Bird flu symptoms may look like regular flu at first.

Early symptoms:

Fever

Cough

Sore throat

Body pain

Severe symptoms

In serious cases, it can lead to:

Pneumonia

Severe breathing difficulty

Lung failure

Death

The incubation period is usually 2 to 8 days.

In rare confirmed human cases, especially with H5N1, the fatality rate has reached 48% to 50%.

However, the total number of human cases is very low, and sustained human-to-human transmission has not occurred.

Because fewer people get infected, bird flu causes less human death overall than Nipah virus.

Recent bird flu situation in India

In early 2026:

Thousands of crows died in Darbhanga, Bihar

The cause was confirmed as avian influenza (H5N1)

Authorities imposed movement controls and safety measures

Public health teams monitored people with exposure to birds

So far, no widespread human outbreak has been reported.

Nipah virus: Fruit bats

Bird flu: Wild and domestic birds

Spread to humans

Nipah: From animals, food, and infected people

Bird flu: Mostly from infected birds

Human-to-human spread

Nipah: Yes, through close contact

Bird flu: Very rare

Fatality rate in humans

Nipah: 40% to 75%

Bird flu: High in rare cases, but overall fewer deaths

Vaccine or treatment

Nipah: No approved treatment or vaccine

Bird flu: Some antivirals and experimental vaccines

Nipah virus is clearly more deadly for humans. This is because:

It has a much higher fatality rate

It causes severe brain disease

There is no treatment or vaccine

It can spread from person to person

Bird flu, while dangerous, mostly affects birds and only rarely infects humans.

Even though bird flu kills fewer humans, it:

Causes massive poultry deaths

Damages livelihoods of farmers

Threatens food security

Has the potential to mutate

Health experts keep a close watch to ensure it does not adapt for easier human spread.

Measures include:

Isolating infected patients

Contact tracing

Using protective equipment in hospitals

Limiting bat access to food sources

Public awareness campaigns

WHO works closely with Indian authorities to strengthen preparedness.

How people can protect themselves To reduce Nipah risk

Avoid eating unwashed or bitten fruit

Do not drink raw date palm juice

Avoid close contact with sick people

Follow hospital safety rules

To reduce bird flu risk

Avoid touching dead birds

Do not handle sick poultry

Cook eggs and chicken properly

Report unusual bird deaths

Why understanding these diseases matters

Knowing the difference between Nipah virus and bird flu helps:

Reduce panic

Improve early reporting

Strengthen prevention

Save lives

Both diseases remind us that human health, animal health, and environment are deeply connected.

Nipah virus and bird flu are both serious threats, but Nipah virus is far deadlier for humans due to its high fatality rate, lack of treatment, and ability to spread between people.

Bird flu remains a major concern for animal health and the economy, while Nipah poses a direct and deadly risk to human life if not quickly contained.

Strong surveillance, public awareness, and rapid response remain India’s best defence.

Disclaimer: This article if for information purposes.

Discover Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s fitness blueprint — from strict diet choices to power training — shaping his rise in Indian cricket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s journey into fitness began much earlier than most teenagers. His coaches and mentors emphasized discipline, consistency, and a structured approach to training from the very start. This early exposure to organized routines gave him a strong foundation in stamina and resilience.

Even at 14, his ability to bat long innings and maintain focus is a direct result of those formative years. The emphasis was never on flashy workouts but on building habits that would sustain him through the demands of competitive cricket.

Cardio training is a cornerstone of Vaibhav’s routine. He regularly engages in running sessions, interval sprints, and agility drills. These exercises are designed to sharpen his speed between the wickets and ensure he can maintain energy levels across long matches.

Cardio also plays a crucial role in recovery, helping his body flush out fatigue and prepare for back‑to‑back games. For a young athlete, endurance is as important as skill, and Vaibhav’s commitment to cardio reflects his understanding of the game’s physical demands.

While endurance keeps him going, strength training gives Vaibhav the explosive power needed to dominate bowlers. His workouts include carefully monitored weightlifting and bodyweight exercises, focusing on core stability and upper body strength. This balance ensures he can clear boundaries with ease while maintaining control over his movements.

Importantly, his training is age‑appropriate, avoiding overloading his growing frame while still building the muscle required for professional cricket. The result is a player who combines raw hitting ability with controlled technique.

Vaibhav’s lifestyle choices extend beyond the gym and onto his plate. He has consciously eliminated heavy foods like mutton and pizza, despite them being personal favorites, to keep his weight under control. Instead, his meals emphasize lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and hydration.

This disciplined approach ensures his body is fueled for both practice sessions and match days. For a teenager, such dietary sacrifices highlight his maturity and commitment to long‑term success. Nutrition is often overlooked in young athletes, but Vaibhav treats it as seriously as training.

Physical fitness is only half the battle; mental strength defines champions. Vaibhav incorporates visualization techniques before matches, imagining scenarios and rehearsing his responses. This practice helps him stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing conditions, whether facing pace or spin.

His ability to maintain composure has already been evident in record‑breaking knocks. By treating mental conditioning as part of his routine, he ensures that his confidence and focus match his physical readiness. It is this balance that sets him apart from peers.

Despite his intense schedule, Vaibhav understands the importance of recovery. Sleep is treated as seriously as training, with consistent rest ensuring his body can repair and grow. Light stretching, physiotherapy sessions, and mobility work are part of his weekly routine to prevent injuries.

This balanced lifestyle allows him to sustain performance while still enjoying his teenage years. By prioritizing recovery, he avoids burnout and ensures longevity in a sport that demands both physical and mental endurance.

Air India has unveiled the cabin interiors of its first Boeing 787-9 aircraft designed specifically for the airline. Delivered on 11 January 2026, the aircraft will begin flights between Mumbai and Frankfurt from February 1.

Air India has unveiled the cabin interiors of its first Boeing 787-9 aircraft that has been designed and built specifically for the airline. The aircraft, registered as VT-AWA, marks an important step in Air India’s ongoing transformation after returning to Tata Sons ownership. Unlike earlier planes in its fleet, this aircraft was fitted with new interiors directly at Boeing's production line.

The airline said the interiors introduced on this aircraft will become the standard design for its entire Boeing 787 fleet over the next few years.

Delivery and route details

Air India received the new Boeing 787-9 on 11 January 2026. The aircraft flew non-stop from Boeing’s factory in Everett, Washington, to Delhi. It is scheduled to enter commercial service from 1 February 2026 and will initially operate flights between Mumbai and Frankfurt.

This aircraft is the first widebody delivery from Air India’s large order of 470 aircraft placed three years ago as part of its long-term fleet renewal plan.

Air India’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Campbell Wilson, described the delivery as a key moment in the airline’s five-year Vihaan.AI transformation programme. While nearly 100 new and leased aircraft have already joined the group since privatisation, he noted that this is the first aircraft fully designed by and for Air India.

According to the airline, the focus is not only on adding aircraft but also on improving the physical product offered to passengers, including seating, lighting, and inflight entertainment, alongside onboard service.

Air India confirmed that the cabin design seen on this Boeing 787-9 will be extended across its entire Dreamliner fleet. In addition to 19 more Boeing 787-9 aircraft that will be delivered with the same interiors, the airline is also retrofitting all 26 of its existing Boeing 787-8 aircraft.

The retrofit programme is already underway. The first upgraded aircraft is expected to return to service in the coming weeks, while the full retrofit of the fleet is scheduled to be completed by mid-2027.

The Business Class cabin features fully enclosed suites, though the sliding privacy doors are currently unavailable due to pending regulatory approval. Each suite converts into a fully flat bed measuring 79 inches and also offers a chaise lounge option.

Passengers in Business Class have access to a 17-inch 4K QLED HDR touchscreen, a separate IFE handset, Bluetooth headphone pairing, wireless charging pads, and both Type A and Type C fast charging ports. Storage space is built into the suite, including a softly lit cubby area with a vanity mirror and headphone hook.

Design elements such as a feature lamp use Air India’s jaali pattern, inspired by traditional Indian architecture.

Premium Economy focused on comfort and space

Premium Economy is positioned as a separate, quieter cabin aimed at long-haul comfort. Each seat offers a 38-inch pitch and a 7-inch recline, along with an adjustable headrest, calf rest, and leg rest.

The seats include a 13.3-inch 4K QLED HDR touchscreen, fast charging ports, and a bottle holder. Air India said the cabin is designed to provide greater privacy compared to Economy while remaining more accessible than Business Class.

Economy Class upgrades

Economy Class features lightweight, ergonomically designed seats with a standard pitch of 31 to 32 inches and a 5-inch recline. Each seat is fitted with an 11.6-inch 4K QLED HDR touchscreen and both Type A and Type C charging ports.

While the layout remains a familiar 3-3-3 configuration, the airline says the focus has been on improving comfort, screen quality, and usability for long-haul travel.

Design inspired by Indian identity

The interiors of the aircraft were designed in collaboration with JPA Design, a global design studio. Air India said the aim was to reflect its renewed brand identity while maintaining a modern and international feel.

The colour palette includes soft creams, warm golds, pinks, reds, and deep purples. Materials and textures were chosen to create a calm and consistent experience across cabins, with improved lighting, storage, and ease of movement.

Design updates extend beyond seating to galleys, lavatories, side panels, and crew rest areas.

Mood lighting linked to wellness concepts

A key feature of the new cabin is its mood lighting system, developed with Tata Elxsi. The system draws inspiration from ancient Indian wellness traditions, particularly the concept of chakras, which are believed to represent energy centres in the body.

The aircraft includes 10 different lighting scenes designed to align with passengers’ circadian rhythms. According to Air India, this is intended to support melatonin regulation and help passengers feel more comfortable on long-haul flights.

The Boeing 787-9 aircraft has a total of 296 seats spread across three cabin classes: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy.

Business Class includes 30 seats arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, ensuring every passenger has direct aisle access. Premium Economy has 28 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, while Economy Class contains 238 seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Of these, 220 Economy seats are available for booking on flights operated by this aircraft.

All seats across all cabins are equipped with Thales’ AVANT Up inflight entertainment system.

The Air India group includes full-service airline Air India and low-cost carrier Air India Express. The group currently operates more than 300 aircraft and serves 57 domestic and 49 international destinations.

After returning to Tata Sons ownership in 2022, the group began a large-scale transformation. This includes an order for 570 new aircraft, the merger of Air Asia India and Vistara into the group, the opening of South Asia’s largest aviation training academy, and plans for a new flying school and maintenance base.

The airline said all existing aircraft will continue to undergo full interior refits as part of this wider programme.

Twelve-year-old Lakshmipriya Sahoo died at Puri District Headquarters Hospital after severe complications suspected to be linked to long-term head lice infestation. She had suffered for months and was hospitalised after vomiting blood.

A 12-year-old girl died at the Puri District Headquarters Hospital on Saturday night after developing serious health complications that doctors suspect may be linked to a severe head lice infestation. Health authorities have ordered a detailed probe to find the exact cause of death.

The girl has been identified as Lakshmipriya Sahoo, a resident of Champagada Sahi under Balanga block in Odisha’s Puri district. She was a Class VI student at a local school.

According to her family, Lakshmipriya had been suffering from lice infestation for the past few months. They said several attempts were made to treat the condition, but there was no clear improvement, according to a report by The Times of India.

Her mother, Satyabhama, said the infestation had badly affected the girl’s scalp. Because of embarrassment and discomfort, Lakshmipriya started covering her head with a scarf while going to school.

In recent days, a strong foul smell was noticed from her scalp. Due to this, she stopped attending classes. Her mother said she had advised the child to shave her head, but she refused.

The family also said that Lakshmipriya had very thick hair, which made it difficult for them to realise how serious the infestation had become. She also avoided going outside because she felt uncomfortable and ashamed.

Health condition worsened before hospitalisation

On Friday, Lakshmipriya suddenly began vomiting blood. The family rushed her to the District Headquarters Hospital. Doctors prescribed medicines for lice treatment and also gave treatment to control the vomiting.

However, her condition continued to deteriorate. Despite medical care, she died on Saturday night.

Her death has shocked the local community and raised concerns about how a common problem like lice could lead to such serious complications.

Puri Chief District Medical Officer Dr Akshay Satapathy said the girl may have died either due to a reaction to medicines used for lice treatment or due to septicaemia caused by a severe scalp infection, according to a TOI report. He explained that repeated scratching can create wounds on the scalp, which can become infected. If such infections are not treated in time, they can spread in the body and become life-threatening.

He added that the exact cause of death can only be confirmed after a detailed investigation and medical review. He also said he did not yet have full details of the case.

Dr Chandra Sekhar Sirka, a dermatology professor at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, told The Times of India a secondary infection may have developed after the lice infestation.

Senior dermatologist Dr Maitreyee Panda also said that severe lice infestation can lead to serious health complications. She explained that infections can occur when the scalp is damaged due to constant itching and scratching. In rare cases, this may lead to sepsis, which is a dangerous body-wide infection.

Past study highlights rare but serious outcomes

A 2022 study titled The Darker Side of Head Lice Infestations, published in the journal Clinics in Dermatology, reported the death of a 12-year-old girl in Georgia. In that case, the child suffered an apparent cardiac arrest, and the secondary cause was found to be severe anaemia linked to extensive head lice infestation.

Experts say such extreme outcomes are rare but show that untreated or severe cases can sometimes become dangerous.

Head lice are usually a common and treatable problem, especially among school children. In most cases, they cause itching and discomfort but do not lead to serious illness. However, if the infestation becomes very severe and continues for a long time, constant scratching can create open wounds on the scalp.

These wounds can get infected by bacteria. If the infection spreads into the blood, it may lead to septicaemia, which is life-threatening. In rare situations, heavy infestation can also contribute to severe anaemia or other complications. Doctors stress that early treatment, good hygiene, and medical care can prevent such dangerous outcomes.

Ever wondered what actor R. Madhavan eats for breakfast, especially during the scorching summer months? In a recent interview, the actor revealed his favourite morning meal, a simple, healthy choice that keeps him energised throughout the day.

At 55, R. Madhavan continues to impress fans with his fitness and healthy lifestyle. The actor believes that simple, home-style food is the real secret behind staying energetic. During the summer months, he prefers starting his day with a traditional dish called Kanji, a light and cooling rice-based breakfast loved in many South Indian homes.

Kanji is made using leftover rice soaked in water overnight. Madhavan says the dish is filling yet extremely light on the stomach. It helps keep hunger away for hours while also cooling the body in hot weather. Because it is easy to digest and naturally refreshing, it has long been considered a perfect breakfast during peak summer.

To prepare Kanji, leftover rice is soaked overnight in water. In the morning, a tempering is made with oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and a pinch of hing. This tadka is added to the rice along with curd, chopped onions, green chillies, and salt, creating a wholesome and flavourful meal.

According to Madhavan, this humble dish provides stable energy throughout the morning. It keeps the body cool and supports digestion, which is especially helpful during hot days. Some people even believe that fermented rice meals like Kanji improve gut health and promote better sleep, making it a traditional yet highly nutritious breakfast option.

Madhavan has often spoken about his love for vegetarian food. Among his favourite breakfast dishes is the classic Idli, a staple in many South Indian households. From traditional urad dal idlis to healthier variations like oats or masala idli, the actor enjoys different versions of this soft and protein-rich dish.

Also Read: Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan mark 'Shaitaan's two years with a twist

He Enjoys Apart from Kanji and Idli, Madhavan enjoys several traditional South Indian breakfasts. These include Puttu, Pongal, Dosa, Rava Dosa, Urad Vada, Paddu, and Neer Dosa, usually served with coconut chutney. These simple yet nutritious dishes, he says, play a big role in maintaining his fitness and balanced lifestyle.

From rare Ferraris to bold SUVs, Messi’s garage is more than cars — it’s a statement of power.

Messi’s most famous car is the Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti, valued at nearly $35 million. This rare racing machine, built in the 1950s, is one of only a handful ever produced. It represents exclusivity and history, making it the crown jewel of his garage. Owning such a car places Messi in a league of collectors who value heritage as much as performance.

Among the most exotic cars in his possession is the Pagani Zonda Tricolore, worth over $2 million. Known for its aerodynamic design and thunderous V12 engine, the Zonda is a statement of rarity. Messi’s choice here reflects his taste for unique engineering marvels that are as much art pieces as they are vehicles.

Messi’s long association with Audi during his Barcelona years brought several models into his garage, but the R8 Spyder stands out. Sleek, convertible, and versatile, it blends everyday usability with supercar performance. For Messi, it was a practical yet stylish option during his time in Spain, balancing comfort with speed.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale adds Italian flair to Messi’s lineup. With its aggressive styling and powerful V8 engine, it’s a car built for both elegance and thrill. Messi’s ownership of this model shows his appreciation for brands that combine tradition with modern performance.

The Mercedes SLS AMG, famous for its gull‑wing doors, is one of the most iconic cars in Messi’s collection. Valued at around $500,000, it represents German precision and bold design. The SLS AMG is not just a car but a symbol of engineering excellence, and Messi’s garage would be incomplete without it.

Lionel Messi balances his supercars with practical luxury SUVs. The Range Rover Vogue is his family‑friendly choice, offering comfort and premium appeal. The Cadillac Escalade, on the other hand, reflects American luxury — spacious, bold, and perfect for his lifestyle in Miami. Together, these SUVs show Messi’s preference for versatility alongside extravagance.

Messi’s collection also includes lighter touches. The Mini Cooper S Cabriolet is compact and playful, proving not every car in his garage needs to be a multimillion‑dollar supercar. In contrast, the Ferrari F430 Spider is a timeless Italian convertible, sporty yet elegant, showcasing his enduring love for Ferrari. These two cars highlight the balance between fun and tradition in his lineup.

From joyful street moments to serene Golden Temple reflections, his journey highlights authenticity, diversity, and the country’s “dangerous” charm in the most beautiful sense.

India is often introduced to first‑time travelers with cautionary tales and second‑hand warnings. Yet, every so often, someone arrives and quietly dismantles those preconceptions through genuine human encounters. Australian traveler Duncan McNaught has done exactly that, capturing India in a way that feels both intimate and celebratory.

In his Instagram reel, Duncan cleverly flips the narrative. “Be careful…India is dangerous. Dangerously kind, dangerously fun, dangerously rich in culture, dangerously happy, dangerously full of beautiful landscapes,” he says. The line turns a word of warning into a tribute, reframing India’s complexity as something unforgettable.

Unlike many tourists who document India from a distance, Duncan’s reel is immersive. He is seen laughing with locals in busy streets, dancing joyfully with children, and embracing spontaneous moments that require no shared language. These encounters highlight India’s unique ability to turn strangers into friends, even if only briefly.

Golden Temple reflections and contrasts

One of the most emotional segments takes Duncan to the Golden Temple. The pace of his video slows, contrasting the frenetic energy outside with the stillness inside. The temple’s serene environment underscores India’s duality: a country of sensory overload, but also of spirituality and contemplation.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Duncan McNaught (@duncan.mcnaught)

His travels continue across diverse landscapes. Shots of ziplining through snowy terrain and road trips to winter wonderlands emphasize India’s vast variety. Unexpected invitations to parties or gatherings further illustrate the openness of its people, where hospitality often comes without hesitation.

The online response to Duncan’s reel has been equally telling. One user commented, “Brother from another part of the world,” capturing the sense of belonging his journey evoked. Another praised him for sharing India’s culture without chasing views, while a third noted, “Finally someone who didn’t come with a stereotype in head.” These reactions reflect a collective appreciation for authenticity when it is genuinely seen.

Within a digital space often dictated by trends and algorithms, Duncan’s work feels refreshingly honest. His reel avoids curated tourist checklists, instead offering glimpses of everyday life that resonate deeply with viewers.

Ultimately, Duncan’s journey is not just about travel but perspective. He arrived with curiosity rather than caution and left with stories instead of stereotypes. His experiences reinforce a truth that India cannot be reduced to a single narrative. It is a country that challenges, surprises, and transforms those who engage with it openly.

A travel blogger’s post about a messy flight from Bangkok to India has gone viral, starting a major discussion online about passenger behaviour and travel manners. Sandhya Majji, a travel vlogger with over 257,000 Instagram followers, shared a video showing the condition of the aircraft after landing. Her post quickly caught attention and divided opinions on social media.

What the blogger saw on the flight

In her post, Sandhya described being shocked by the state of the cabin. The video showed torn boarding passes, food waste and other rubbish scattered across seats and the floor.

She also spoke about an incident where a flight toilet was left in a very poor condition. According to her, urine was spread on the floor and wet tissues were thrown around. A flight attendant had to clean the mess by hand.

Sandhya said she felt sorry for the crew, who had to deal with such situations.

Also Read: It Was Not The Dosa! She said it is the responsibility of parents to control their children or clean up after them.

However, she added that it was not just children creating the mess. She claimed that adults were also leaving garbage behind on flights.

While she did not target any one group directly, she mentioned that such scenes were often seen on flights with a large number of Indian passengers. She even compared the condition of one flight to a village government bus.

Also Read: 3,700% Spike In Hate Crimes Against Sikhs In US Raises Alarm Over Targeted Violence

Internet reacts with mixed views

The post led to a heated debate online. Many users agreed with Sandhya and said such behaviour is common. One comment said people often assume that someone else will clean up after them.

People around the world are reacting to Australia’s new law banning under-16s from using social media. Many teenagers say the ban is too extreme, while others believe it could help reduce pressure, harm and distraction.

Australia's landmark move to ban under-16s from social media will be closely watched by other countries, which could follow suit with similar laws.

AFP spoke to teenagers and adults around the world in the run-up to the Australian ban, which came into force on Wednesday. Here are some of their reactions:

Mumbai: 'Nothing is black or white'

At the seafront in India's Mumbai, 19-year-old Pratigya Jena scrolls with her friends through Instagram videos of a posing influencer and a camel at a beach.

Social media "should be partially banned because according to me nothing is either black or white", the student said.

"Gen Z are very active, they are doing really well on social media. And doing great things, especially young entrepreneurs," Jena said.

At the same time, children watching adult content online "has a very bad effect".

At a Mumbai park, cricket coach Pratik Bhurke, 38, said Australia's move would encourage children to spend time outdoors and could have "great benefits" in India too.

Berlin: 'Help to detox'

In the chilly German capital, Luna Drewes, 13, is watching selfie-style TikTok clips posted by other young people.

The ban was "actually a good thing in some ways because social media often portrays a certain image of how people should look, like girls have to be thin", she said.

Another teenager, Enno Caro Brandes, said: "I'm 15 so for me the ban would definitely come into effect. I can't really imagine giving it up completely.

"A ban is a bit extreme, but it could definitely help to do a detox."

Doha: 'Really stupid'

An AI baby singing and answering interview questions are among the videos served up to Firdha Razak, 16, as she scrolls in her room.

Razak is not in favour of a ban. "It's really stupid, honestly," although "there's not really much we can do as 16-year-olds" if governments decide to act, she said.

The families of many people in Qatar live abroad, so "it's going to be so much harder to talk to them".

Also in Doha, Youssef Walid, 16, said bans like Australia's were "a bit harsh" and hard to enforce.

"We can use VPN. We can easily bypass the security and easily make new accounts," he said.

Lagos: 'We were born with it'

At a Nigerian high school, Mitchelle Okinedo is revising for exams, checking over her hand-written notes. In the classroom -- where phones are banned -- students in uniform sit at separate desks.

"I see where the (Australian) government is coming from. Students nowadays, they are really distracted," Okinedo said.

Even so, "we were born with it", the 15-year-old added. "And I don't think it's something I want to stop."

Her mother, 50-year-old event planner Hannah Okinedo, agrees with a social media ban for under-16s, saying most parents "don't have time to monitor their children all day".

Mexico City: 'Express yourself'

Young Mexico City resident Aranza Gomez, 11, has had a smartphone with access to social media for one year.

Without it, "I would honestly feel sad. I wouldn't really have a good way to spend my time," she said.

Santiago Ramirez Rojas, 16, is sitting on a bench in the Tabacalera district, scrolling through posts containing news about Argentina and tour dates for a musician.

"Social media today is very important for expressing yourself, no matter how old you are," said Rojas.

But "there are many kidnappings that begin online" and "younger kids, around 10 or 12, are much more vulnerable".

Sydney: 'Not going to have any impact'

In Australia one family has diverging ideas on how the law will go.

"I don't think the government really knows what they're doing and I don't think it's going to have any impact on children of Australia," said 15-year-old Layton Lewis.

But his mother Emily Lewis hopes it will help children "have better, more authentic relationships".

"They'll make proper plans, like we used to, to meet up with their friends face-to-face and have proper conversations as opposed to these illusive friendships online," she said.

(Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by Asianet Newsable English staff and is published from a syndicated feed)

From viral dances to bold lifestyle shifts, the Gen Z trends dominate social media and the latest buzzword making waves online is “Green Sex.” Focused on health and sustainability, the trend is now being adopted by millennials and, to some extent, even Gen X. Interestingly, even those who often criticise Gen Z are now viewing this movement with a degree of appreciation. As conversations around it grow more positive, the concept is reaching a wider audience.

What Is ‘Green Sex’?

Simply put, Green Sex refers to reducing the environmental impact of products and practices associated with one’s sexual life. Highly aware of climate change, Gen Z aims to lower their carbon footprint, even in their most intimate spaces. This has led them to embrace environmentally friendly alternatives in their romantic lives.

Choosing Eco-Friendly Products

Traditional condoms often contain plastic and animal-derived substances. Rejecting this, many young people are opting for biodegradable condoms made from vegan latex that naturally decompose in the environment.

Similarly, battery-operated plastic sex toys are being replaced with rechargeable devices or products made from sustainable materials. The use of chemical-free, organic lubricants is also on the rise.

Mindful Dating Practices

For Gen Z, sustainability has become a key part of attraction. On dating apps, people who show concern for the environment are preferred. Instead of expensive gifts or stays at plastic-heavy luxury hotels, eco-friendly dates such as walks in parks or planting saplings together are gaining popularity.

Supporting Ethical Brands

Young consumers are also rejecting companies that harm the environment purely for profit. They are choosing to support ethical brands that offer fair wages and maintain transparency in their production processes. This shift reflects Gen Z’s pursuit of a purposeful and meaningful life, driven by awareness of how everyday choices impact the planet.

From condoms free of animal protein (casein) to naturally biodegradable products, from USB-charged silicone devices to aloe vera or water-based, petrochemical-free lubricants—every choice is intentional. Beyond sex, the use of menstrual cups and period panties is helping reduce plastic waste. Even bedroom essentials like cotton bedsheets are preferred over synthetic alternatives.

For Gen Z, caring for sexual health and protecting the planet go hand in hand—a belief that is fast reshaping intimate lifestyles across generations.
