Delhi Police have arrested a 31-year-old software engineer who was earning nearly Rs 30 lakh per year at a multinational company. Police say he left his corporate job to run a fake online trading racket that cheated hundreds of investors across India. The accused, identified as Ravi Rathore, is believed to be the main person behind the fraud. Police arrested him along with two associates after a multi-state operation that covered Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

How the fraud worked

According to Delhi Police, as reported by India Today, the accused created a fake mobile application and a fraudulent website. The platform was presented as an online trading service. Victims were promised high guaranteed returns with no financial risk.

The syndicate mainly targeted people interested in stock market investments. They told investors that the system used advanced software tools that could generate large profits safely.

Police said the group used convincing methods to gain trust and encourage people to invest money.

Complaint that started the investigation

The case came to light after a resident of Delhi’s Paharganj area filed a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The complainant said he was contacted by unknown callers. They persuaded him to download the trading app and start investing.

Trusting their claims, he transferred Rs 10,000 through several online transactions.

At first, the app showed fake daily profits to build confidence. The display was designed to look real and encourage further deposits.

Demands for more money

When the victim tried to withdraw his money, the operators allegedly asked him to deposit more funds.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajveer Singh said that every time the victim attempted to withdraw money, he was told to pay extra amounts. The excuses included taxes, account activation fees, and processing charges.

These repeated demands made the victim suspicious. After reading government warnings about cyber fraud, he realised he had been cheated and reported the matter to authorities.

FIR and investigation

An FIR was registered on May 1. After that, Delhi Police started a detailed investigation.

The probe included technical surveillance, IP address tracking, server log analysis, and examination of financial transactions.

Investigators found that the backend system and control panel of the fake app were operated from Bengaluru. The calling operations and financial trail were traced to Sanawad in the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh.

Police formed two separate teams to catch the suspects in both states.

Arrests and recovered items

Ravi Rathore was arrested in Bengaluru on May 3. Police recovered two laptops, a mobile phone, and an SUV that was allegedly bought using money from the fraud.

On May 5, another team arrested his associates, Sudama and Vikash Rathod, from Sanawad.

During raids at what police described as a call centre, officers seized 17 mobile phones, five computers, 13 SIM cards, bank account records, ATM cards, and large amounts of digital data. The data included details of thousands of potential victims.

How victims were targeted

Investigators said the group hired female callers to contact victims. The aim was to gain trust and encourage male investors to put in more money.

Police believe this strategy helped the group convince people to invest larger sums.

Role of each accused

Police said Rathore used his background in software development to create and maintain the fake trading platform.

Sudama allegedly funded the operations. Vikash handled calls and communicated with investors to promote the scheme.

Scale of the fraud

Technical analysis showed that 636 victim accounts were created on the platform. Police found around 14,232 transactions linked to the racket. The total amount involved was nearly Rs 99.77 crore.

Officials said part of the money was used to buy flats and other properties in Indore. Luxury vehicles were also purchased.

Possible wider network

Investigators suspect that the accused may be linked to similar fraud cases in other states. Police are now tracing the full money trail. They are also checking mule accounts used to move funds and identifying more victims.

The case highlights how online fraud can look real and convincing. Police action has exposed a large network that allegedly used technology to cheat investors.

Investigations are still ongoing. Authorities say more details may emerge as they continue tracking financial records and digital evidence. The arrests are a major step in stopping the racket and protecting future investors.

Police said the accused, Rajiv, invited her to dinner before allegedly attacking her with a knife during an argument.

A 23-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her former boyfriend in Bengaluru's Mahalakshmi Layout area after she refused to marry him. The accused, identified as Rajiv, was arrested within hours of the incident. Police have registered a murder case and are continuing their investigation.

The incident took place at around 9.30 pm on Sunday near Pipeline Road in Mahalakshmi Layout. The victim, Anjali, was rushed to a nearby hospital after the attack, but doctors could not save her.

Rajasthan Travellers Detained After Violent Clash With Locals in Uttarakhand (WATCH)

According to the police, Anjali and Rajiv had known each other for several years after meeting at their workplace. The two were in a relationship, and both families were aware of it.

However, Anjali's family reportedly opposed their marriage after learning about Rajiv's alleged criminal background. Following her family's decision, Anjali ended the relationship and distanced herself from him.

Investigators said Rajiv allegedly continued to pressure her to marry him despite the breakup.

Australian Arrested at Bangkok Airport Over Killing Teen Girl Found in Suitcase Near Pattaya

Police said Rajiv invited Anjali for dinner on Sunday evening. After the meal, he allegedly took her to the Pipeline Road area, where he once again asked her to marry him.

When Anjali refused, an argument reportedly broke out between the two. During the confrontation, Rajiv allegedly attacked her with a knife, inflicting a fatal neck injury before fleeing the spot.

People nearby immediately rushed the injured woman to hospital, but she later died during treatment.

Pune Murder Case: Siya Goyal Wanted 3 More Years Before Marriage, Visited Jodhpur Before Killing Ketan

The Mahalakshmi Layout police launched a search operation soon after the attack and arrested Rajiv from a nearby area. The report says the project would deliver lower economic returns, reduce Metro ridership and encourage greater use of private vehicles.

Bengaluru's ambitious plan to build a double-decker road integrated with Namma Metro Phase 3 has come under fresh scrutiny after a new study by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) questioned its long-term economic and transport benefits. The technical report, prepared by Prof. Ashish Verma of the IISc Sustainable Transportation Lab, as quoted by NDTV suggests that combining an elevated road with the Metro corridor could reduce the overall value of the project and weaken the purpose of investing in mass public transport.

Metro Performs Better Without Elevated Road

According to the report submitted to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), the Economic Internal Rate of Return (EIRR) for the integrated project is estimated at only 9.07 per cent. This is well below the generally accepted benchmark of 14 per cent for such infrastructure investments.

However, the study found that if the elevated road component is removed and the Metro project is considered on its own, the EIRR increases sharply to 18 per cent.

The findings differ from the government's earlier estimate, which projected an EIRR of 16.5 per cent for the combined project.

Study Predicts Shift Towards Private Vehicles

The report argues that adding more road space may encourage people to use private vehicles instead of public transport.

Researchers estimate that by 2041, bus travel could fall by 6.4 per cent, while Metro usage may decline by 1.4 per cent if the double-decker road is built.

At the same time, car travel is expected to rise by 3.8 per cent. Two-wheeler trips could increase by 1.28 per cent, while travel by auto-rickshaws and taxis may grow by 2.8 per cent.

According to the researchers, this shift goes against the main objective of Metro systems, which are designed to reduce dependence on private vehicles.

Daily Metro Ridership May Fall

The study also projects a slight decline in Metro ridership.

Daily passenger numbers on Bengaluru's Phase 3 corridors are expected to fall from 8.09 lakh under a Metro-only system to 7.98 lakh if the double-decker road is introduced.

Although the difference appears small, researchers say it reflects a gradual shift towards personal transport that could become more noticeable over time.

Environmental Impact Also Highlighted

Apart from transport patterns, the report warns of higher pollution and fuel consumption.

It estimates that the proposed corridors would generate an additional 17,012 kilograms of carbon dioxide every day. Daily emissions would also include around 85.9 kg of carbon monoxide, 12.6 kg of nitrogen oxides, 19.5 kg of hydrocarbons and 1.1 kg of PM2.5 particles, according to the Hindu.

Fuel consumption is expected to increase by more than 7,000 litres each day, adding over ₹6.45 lakh in daily fuel costs.

Debate Over Bengaluru's Future Transport Continues

The findings are likely to add momentum to the ongoing debate over Bengaluru's transport planning.

Urban mobility experts and citizen groups have repeatedly argued that future investments should focus on improving public transport instead of expanding road capacity for private vehicles.

With the IISc study now raising concerns over economic returns, Metro ridership and environmental impact, the future of the proposed double-decker model is expected to remain a key topic of discussion as the project moves forward.

K-RIDE has announced that Bengaluru's long-delayed suburban rail project is on track to begin operations by December 2028, with Corridor 2 expected to be the first to open. Construction and land acquisition have accelerated across key sections.

After years of delays, Bengaluru's long-awaited suburban rail project has entered a new phase, with Karnataka Rail Infrastructure Development Company (K-RIDE) confirming that the first train services are expected to begin by December 2028. As reported by Money Control, the agency says the project will not only improve public transport but also open up new areas for housing, business and future urban growth.

The suburban rail network, stretching nearly 148 kilometres across four corridors, was first proposed in 1983. It received approval from the Central Government in 2020, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone in June 2022. Although the original target was to complete the project by 2026, construction delays pushed the timeline further.

MP Woman Delivers Baby on Cot While Villagers Carry Her Across River

K-RIDE Managing Director Lakshman Singh, who took charge in December 2025, told Money Control that construction has now gathered pace across the priority corridors.

According to Singh, land acquisition for the main alignments and stations on Corridor 2, connecting Byappanahalli and Chikkabanavara, and Corridor 4, linking Heelalige with Rajanukunte, has largely been completed. The remaining land requirement mainly relates to flyovers and rail overbridges.

Construction has already started at stations on both corridors, while several major civil contracts have either been awarded or are in the final stages of tendering.

For the 46-kilometre Corridor 4, two out of four civil packages have already been tendered, while the remaining two are expected to be floated shortly. On Corridor 2, two of the three construction packages have been awarded, with fresh bids invited for the remaining section.

Andhra Pradesh's 18 Lakh Farmers Win World's Biggest Food Planet Prize, Natural Farming Model Goes Global

Corridors 1 and 3 Also Moving Forward

Singh said Indian Railways has approved the alignments for Corridor 1, which will connect KSR Bengaluru with Kempegowda International Airport through Devanahalli, and Corridor 3, linking Kengeri with Whitefield via KSR Bengaluru.

Officials are currently carrying out joint land measurements to identify the exact land needed before the formal acquisition process begins.

K-RIDE expects to complete most of the required land acquisition for these two corridors by the end of this year or early next year.

Responding to questions about repeated delays, Singh told Money Control railway projects of this scale naturally take several years to complete.

Unlike Metro construction, much of the suburban rail work is being carried out next to active railway tracks where passenger and freight trains continue to operate. This limits access to work sites and requires strict safety measures throughout construction.

He explained that even sections built at ground level involve extensive earthwork, track preparation and transitions between elevated and surface sections, making the work more complicated than many people expect.

Internet Amazed by Indian Musician Who Visited 245 Nations Before the Influencer Era

While all four corridors remain part of the approved project, K-RIDE has decided to complete them in phases.

The agency's immediate focus is on Corridors 2 and 4, followed by Corridor 1. Within Corridor 3, priority will initially be given to the Bengaluru Cantonment-Kengeri section, while the Bengaluru Cantonment-Whitefield stretch will be developed later.

K-RIDE has committed to starting suburban rail operations by December 2028. If the full Corridor 2 cannot be completed by then, the Chikkabanavara-Yeshwanthpur section will be opened first.

Officials believe Yeshwanthpur will become an important transport hub where suburban rail, Metro, Indian Railways and BMTC bus services connect seamlessly, allowing passengers to change between different modes of transport more easily.

Bright Side Stories: Patna's New AC Lounges Give Delivery Workers a Cool Place to Rest During Summer Heat

Unlike the Metro, which mainly follows major roads, the suburban rail network runs alongside existing railway lines that pass through many less-developed parts of Bengaluru.

K-RIDE believes these railway corridors will encourage new housing, commercial projects and better planned urban growth over the coming years. Many of these areas currently have low-rise buildings and large open spaces, making them suitable for future transit-oriented development.

The agency also said the Karnataka government is studying proposals for Regional Rapid Transit services similar to the Delhi-Meerut system. If approved, K-RIDE could also be involved in building those projects.

To prepare for future expansion, officials are considering the European Train Control System (ETCS), a signalling technology that can support higher-speed regional train services.

With construction now advancing across multiple corridors, K-RIDE says Bengaluru's suburban rail project has finally moved beyond planning and into large-scale execution, bringing the city closer to a transport network that has been discussed for more than four decades.

From Marathon To Makhan: Dehradun Couple's Butter Run Goes Viral, Wins Heart (WATCH)

Bengaluru: The Amruthahalli police have arrested two people, including a private college student, for allegedly misbehaving and assaulting police constables. The incident happened when the cops questioned the youths for holding a drinking party in their car, parked right in the middle of a road in the wee hours of the morning.

The arrested individuals are Dev Harsh from Mariyappanapalya and Aryan. The police are now on the lookout for two others, Chand and Mrinal, who fled the scene. The constables who were attacked, Hanumantha Alagundi and Rudrappa, were on patrol duty in Akashvani Layout when the accused behaved badly with them. Officials said that the policemen received treatment for their injuries and have since recovered.

Uniform torn, goondagiri on display

Here's what happened. Around 3 AM on May 1st, near Dasarahalli's Akashvani Layout, four youths were having a drinking session in their car. The group included B.Tech students Harsh, Chand, and Mrinal, along with Aryan, a private company employee. At the same time, Amruthahalli police constables Rudrappa and Hanumantha were on their patrol rounds on that route.

The policemen objected to them drinking in the middle of the road. This angered one of the youths, who started abusing the cops, shouting, 'Karnataka Police Ma*** Chor'. When one of the constables tried to get his lathi from the bike, all four of them grabbed him from behind.

The accused then tore the constable's uniform, punched and kicked the policemen, and fled the scene. Following the incident, an FIR was registered at the Amruthahalli police station based on a complaint filed by the injured constable, Rudrappa. The police eventually tracked down and arrested two of them using the car's registration number. An investigation is underway to find the absconding duo, Chand and Mrinal, police officials confirmed.

Students from rich families

It has come to light that except for Mrinal, the other three accused are from locally well-to-do families. Sources believe that their arrogance and behaviour stemmed from their wealth.

It uses computer vision, smart traffic signals and real-time monitoring to reduce human error and improve airport ops, even during fog or low visibility. The airport recorded over 4.18 crore passengers in 2024-25.

Bengaluru: With growing concerns about flight-related accidents in India and abroad, Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has taken a major tech-savvy step to boost passenger safety and operational security. Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), the operator, has now launched a state-of-the-art ‘Smart Airside Safety System’. This new system is set to take safety in the airport's airside area to a whole new level.

New Safety System in a High-Risk Zone

The 'airside' is the area where planes get ready for takeoff and landing. This zone is extremely sensitive and risky, so every activity here needs precise monitoring. The 'cross service roads', where aircraft and ground vehicles move at the same time, are particularly tricky. Until now, traffic management on these roads was handled manually. Staff used to control the signals by hand, which sometimes led to human errors, causing delays or even dangerous situations.

To tackle these challenges, BIAL has introduced this new AI-based smart safety system. It uses computer vision technology to accurately track and analyse the movement of all vehicles in the airside area. If any vehicle speeds, breaks a rule, or creates a risky situation, the system immediately sends an automatic alert. It also uses intelligent automation to manage traffic signals on its own. This will not only reduce the chances of human error but also make operations much more efficient.

AI Cameras on Watch

Another great feature of this new system is its real-time monitoring capability. Every activity in the airside is digitally recorded and tracked through a central control centre. This will allow for data-based analysis in the future to further improve traffic management. The technology will bring more transparency and accuracy to the airport's internal traffic control.

Additionally, this smart system is designed to work effectively even in foggy weather, low visibility, or at night. It will help reduce risks caused by darkness or bad weather, ensuring a safe distance is maintained between aircraft and vehicles. As a result, it will also help keep flights on schedule, balancing both speed and safety.

According to a BIAL statement, this system is not just a safety measure but also a significant step towards the future of airport management. With this, KIA has taken another leap in adopting global safety standards through cutting-edge technology.

BIAL Serves a Record Number of Passengers

Meanwhile, Bengaluru airport has also set a new record in passenger service. In the financial year 2024–25, BIAL served over 4.18 crore passengers, becoming the first airport in South India to achieve this milestone. As India's third-largest airport, KIA has served more than 35 crore passengers to date.

KIA has also received the prestigious global 'ACI 5-star Airport Rating' for its excellent customer service. For the fourth year in a row, it has been recognised as India's No. 1 airport for handling perishable goods, including fruits and vegetables. By constantly innovating in technology, safety, and passenger experience, Bengaluru airport is transforming into an even smarter and safer aviation hub.

A social media post about a 3BHK apartment in Bengaluru being rented out for Rs 1.1 lakh per month has sparked widespread debate online, reigniting conversations around the city’s skyrocketing housing costs and affordability crisis. The listing, which recently went viral on social media, left many internet users stunned, with several questioning whether Bengaluru’s rental market has spiralled out of control.

3bhk on rent for 1.1L in Bangalore??? That's actually someone's monthly salary pic.twitter.com/yycK8Yeuzw

— Anshika Aggarwal (@kipupwidanshika) May 26, 2026

According to reports, the property owner was seeking Rs 1.1 lakh monthly rent for a semi-furnished 3BHK apartment located in one of Bengaluru’s premium residential areas. The rent figure quickly grabbed attention online after screenshots of the listing were shared across social media platforms, leading to sharp reactions from users.

One user wrote, “That’s someone’s monthly salary.” Another commented, “At this point, paying EMIs feels cheaper than paying rent in Bengaluru.” Many users compared the rent with salaries earned by mid-level professionals in India, saying such prices are becoming increasingly unrealistic for ordinary working people.

Several social media users also pointed out how Bengaluru’s real estate market has changed drastically over the past few years, especially after the return-to-office trend in the IT sector. Increased demand for homes in tech corridors like Whitefield, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road and Electronic City has reportedly pushed rental prices sharply higher.

Also Read: Bengaluru Man Paying Rs 70K Rent Refuses To Spend Over Rs 3,500 On Maid, Internet Explodes

Some users defended the pricing, arguing that luxury gated communities with premium amenities often command high rents in Bengaluru due to strong demand from high-income tech employees and expatriates. Others, however, criticised landlords for “inflated expectations” and accused the city’s housing market of becoming inaccessible for middle-class residents.

The viral discussion also reignited a broader debate about urban affordability in India’s major metro cities. Many users highlighted how rising rents, traffic congestion and increasing living costs are putting pressure on professionals relocating to Bengaluru for work opportunities.

Housing experts say Bengaluru’s rental market has remained highly competitive since 2023, driven by growing demand from IT employees and startup professionals. Areas close to major tech parks continue to witness steep rental appreciation due to limited supply and high occupancy rates.

Despite the criticism online, premium apartments in upscale Bengaluru neighbourhoods continue to attract tenants willing to pay higher rents for better connectivity, security and lifestyle amenities. However, the viral post has once again highlighted the widening gap between urban salaries and housing expenses in India’s leading technology hub.

Also Read: Bengaluru Rent Hike: American Woman Claims Landlord Raised Rent By 33%, Video Goes Viral

Snake expert Razak Shah was bitten while rescuing a 15-foot python in Dandeli, Uttara Kannada. Teachers had alerted the Forest Department after spotting the snake. During the rescue, the python lunged and bit him, but he stayed calm.
Snake expert Razak Shah had a brush with danger in Dandeli, Uttara Kannada. He was rescuing a huge 15-foot python when things got risky. People are now praising his bravery for saving the massive snake despite the danger.A massive 15-foot python showed up in a gutter at the VTU college grounds in Dandeli. Worried teachers quickly called the Forest Department. They sent snake expert Razak Shah to the location, who then started the rescue operation. As Razak Shah tried to get the python out of the drain, it suddenly lunged and bit him on his stomach. For a second, the snake's speed and power shocked him. But he didn't panic. He held on, secured the python, and later released it in a nearby forest. Razak got away with minor injuries.Everyone thinks pythons are not venomous, and that's true. But it's a big mistake to think they don't bite. In fact, snake experts say a python's bite is one of the most powerful among all snakes.A python's teeth are a scary piece of engineering. They curve inwards, towards the back of its mouth. This design acts like a hook, making it almost impossible for prey to escape. When a python bites, its grip is so strong it can rip out a chunk of flesh. The python uses a clever swallowing trick. Its inward-facing teeth work like a one-way system. As it swallows its meal, the teeth prevent the prey from slipping back out. Once something is in its mouth, there's no getting away.A python's real weapon is its strength. It doesn't inject venom. Instead, it coils its body around its prey and squeezes with incredible force. This process, called constriction, stops blood flow and breathing, killing the animal before the python swallows it whole. So, even without venom, a python is a dangerous animal because of its sheer power and sharp teeth. Thanks to Razak Shah's quick thinking and bravery in Dandeli, this massive python was saved and a major accident was avoided.

After an argument, he allegedly threatened her friend and forced Ramya into a pre-booked cab that was headed towards Ankola.

Following the incident, Ramya's friend filed a kidnapping complaint at Siddapura Police Station in Bengaluru.

Knife Attack Inside Moving Car

According to investigators, the argument continued throughout the journey. Police said Nagendra had brought a knife and a crude petrol bomb with him and repeatedly threatened to kill both Ramya and himself.

As the vehicle reached Jogihalli on the Bengaluru-Pune National Highway, Nagendra allegedly attacked Ramya with the knife, causing injuries to her head and hand.

The frightened cab driver immediately stopped the vehicle and ran away after seeing the violence unfold.

17-Year-Old Boy Drowns at Mumbai's Aksa Beach After Visiting Spot Seen in Instagram Reel, Rescue Video Surfaces

Ramya Escapes Moments Before Blast

Police said Nagendra then locked the car using the central locking system and prepared to ignite the petrol bomb.

Despite her injuries, Ramya managed to unlock the door and jumped out of the vehicle. Seconds later, a powerful explosion engulfed the car in flames.

Nagendra died inside the burning vehicle, while Ramya survived with serious injuries. She was first taken to Tumakuru District Hospital and is currently receiving treatment.

Police Probe Underway

Tumakuru Superintendent of Police Ashok K.V. said the initial investigation suggests Nagendra detonated the petrol bomb himself after allegedly kidnapping Ramya. Police are recording the statements of the injured woman and the cab driver to establish the exact sequence of events.

Investigators are also examining whether the attack was planned in advance. The burnt vehicle has been seized for forensic examination, while the explosion briefly disrupted traffic on the national highway.

Police have registered a case and said further legal action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.

BJP Councillor Celebrates Birthday Inside Drain to Protest Civic Neglect in Agra (WATCH)

Karnataka High Court has ruled that a wife earning more than her husband cannot automatically receive maintenance based on gender alone. The court said financial circumstances of both spouses must be examined.

The Karnataka High Court has ruled that a wife who earns more than her husband cannot automatically claim maintenance simply because she is a woman. The court said maintenance should be decided after examining the financial condition of both spouses and not on the assumption that a husband must always support his wife.

The ruling came while hearing a petition challenging a family court order that had directed a husband to pay his estranged wife ₹20,000 every month as interim maintenance, according to a report by the Times of India.

'No husband would tolerate this': Court grants divorce over wife's vulgar chats with other men

According to the case records, the husband argued before the High Court that his estranged wife was earning around ₹1 lakh per month, while his own monthly salary was ₹60,646.

He claimed that she was financially independent and capable of supporting herself. Therefore, he argued that there was no reason for him to pay interim maintenance.

The wife, however, told the court that she required financial support to repay debts that she had allegedly taken for her marriage. However, she did not submit details of the loans, pending payments or monthly instalments in support of her claim.

Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project: First Services Expected by December 2028, Corridor 2 Set to Lead Rollout

Justice Chillakur Sumalatha allowed the husband's petition and set aside the family court's interim maintenance order.

The High Court observed that family courts should not assume that maintenance must always be granted to a wife simply because she is a woman.

The court said that where a wife is financially secure, earns more than her husband and does not have additional responsibilities such as caring for children, maintenance should not be awarded solely on the basis of gender.

The judge further observed that a spouse seeking maintenance must show that they are unable to maintain the same standard of living without financial assistance.

Rajasthan Court Denies Divorce to Couple Married for 58 Years: ‘Normal Marital Disputes Not Cruelty’

The court noted that the wife's admitted monthly income of ₹1 lakh was significantly higher than the husband's salary of ₹60,646.

It held that she was capable of maintaining herself and that requiring the husband to pay ₹20,000 every month in such circumstances was not legally justified.

As a result, the High Court declared the interim maintenance order unsustainable and set it aside.

Wife Cannot Be Presumed to Be Earning at Interim Stage, Rules Delhi High Court

The High Court clarified that the ruling applies only to the interim maintenance order challenged before it and will not affect the final outcome of the matrimonial dispute.

The court also said the wife remains free to seek maintenance in the future if there is a significant change in her financial circumstances or other relevant factors.

'You're So Educated, Earn': Supreme Court to MBA Woman Seeking Rs 12 Crore Alimony, BMW After 18-Month Marriage

While the woman died, the man survived after reportedly pretending to consume poison before allegedly strangling her. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the young woman's death and the events that unfolded inside her rented home.

Who Was Bhavani?

Bhavani, originally from Magadi, had moved to Bengaluru two years ago in search of work. She was employed as a cashier at a mobile phone shop and lived alone in a rented house. Her parents had recently spoken to her about marriage. Bhavani agreed to the proposal before returning to Bengaluru. Just two days after coming back, she was found dead, leaving her family and neighbours in shock.

Outrage After Man Swings Newborn Baby Upside Down in Hospital for Reel, Internet Demands Action

A Relationship Built on False Promises

During the investigation, police learned that Bhavani had been in a relationship with an auto driver. The two had been living together for some time, with the man repeatedly assuring her that he would marry her.

However, Bhavani later discovered that he was already married and had a son. The revelation left her deeply distressed, knowing her family would never accept her becoming his second wife.

Unable to see a way forward, she agreed to the arranged marriage suggested by her parents.

A Bengaluru-based doctor has sparked a nationwide conversation after criticizing the growing trend of AI-driven cancer screening packages, arguing that they may be causing more fear than benefit for many patients. His remarks, shared on social media, have ignited a debate about preventive healthcare, overdiagnosis and the increasing use of artificial intelligence in medical screening.

The discussion began when the doctor highlighted how several healthcare providers are marketing comprehensive AI-powered cancer screening packages to healthy individuals. While such packages are often promoted as a proactive approach to early disease detection, he cautioned that indiscriminate screening can sometimes lead to unnecessary panic, especially when tests identify harmless abnormalities that may never develop into serious health conditions.

In a viral post, the doctor warned that advanced screening tools can generate findings that require additional investigations, even when patients have no symptoms. According to him, this often results in emotional stress, repeated consultations and costly follow-up procedures that may ultimately prove unnecessary.

Check the viral post here:

Had a visibly distraught and shaken lady in her 40’s who had been told she possibly had pancreatic cancer by a posh AI driven cancer screening package costing her over 20k!Of course, she was referred to me, the endocrinologist, apparently the expert in all things pancreas!…

— Dr Hema.Venkataraman (@hemsdoc) June 18, 2026

The physician emphasized that cancer screening should be guided by medical history, age, symptoms and individual risk factors rather than being adopted as a one-size-fits-all solution. He argued that while artificial intelligence can assist healthcare professionals, it should not replace clinical judgment or encourage blanket screening practices.

Also Read: Got Pending Traffic Fines? Bengaluru Offers 50% Discount Till July 10; Here's How to Pay

The post quickly resonated with social media users, many of whom shared personal experiences of undergoing extensive medical tests that led to anxiety and confusion. Some agreed that aggressive screening campaigns can create fear among otherwise healthy individuals, while others defended preventive testing, arguing that early diagnosis has saved countless lives.

The debate has also highlighted a broader challenge facing modern healthcare: balancing technological innovation with evidence-based medical practice. Experts note that AI has tremendous potential in fields such as radiology, pathology and diagnostics, where it can help detect diseases more accurately and efficiently. However, they also stress that technology must be used responsibly and within established clinical guidelines.

Medical professionals generally agree that screening remains a critical tool in the fight against cancer, but they caution that tests should be recommended based on scientifically validated criteria rather than marketing-driven approaches. Over-screening can increase the risk of false positives, unnecessary biopsies and emotional distress, particularly among low-risk individuals.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare, the viral discussion serves as a reminder that technological advances should complement, not replace, informed medical decision-making. The conversation has prompted many patients to reconsider how and when they should undergo preventive health screenings, while encouraging healthcare providers to communicate both the benefits and limitations of AI-powered diagnostics more clearly.

Also Read: VIRAL POST | Bengaluru Woman Alleges Cop Texted Her On WhatsApp Months After Complaint, Internet Reacts

She comes from a simple family with limited financial resources.

Her father, Vitthal, worked as a school bus driver, while her mother, Shubha, worked as a hostel helper. In interviews, Deeksha shared that her family often faced money problems while she was growing up.

She said that in her village, even small daily items required travelling 10 to 15 kilometres to buy them.

Still, her parents supported her dream of learning Bharatanatyam.
    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by BHARATH RAJ NAYAK P (@munnamamavlogs)

According to Deeksha, her first dance class fee was reportedly only Rs 75. Instead, she encouraged Deeksha to enter the world of dance.

When Deeksha was around three years old, her mother took her to her first Bharatanatyam class.

Bengaluru (Apr 24): Our very own Silicon City, Bengaluru, is growing at a crazy pace, and its real estate market is feeling the heat. If you've been eyeing property in South Bengaluru, listen up. A new report says prices in prime spots like JP Nagar and Bannerghatta Road could shoot up by a massive 20% to 40% in just the next two years.

So, what's causing the price hike?

The main reason for this massive price jump is the Namma Metro project. The upcoming Yellow and Pink Lines are set to connect South Bengaluru to the rest of the city like never before. This improved transport link has already pushed up the demand for property in these areas.

The Metro's Magic Touch:

It's simple logic: when getting around becomes easier, more people want to live there. The Metro means no more traffic headaches, which is a huge plus for IT professionals and investors. The Yellow Line will link up to IT hubs like Electronic City, while the Pink Line will make getting to the city centre a breeze. Because of this, prices for apartments, plots, and even commercial shops around JP Nagar and Bannerghatta Road are all set to explode.

Is this a golden opportunity for investors?

Real estate experts seem to think so. They say if you're planning to buy a house or a plot in Bengaluru, now is the time. Investing before prices hit their peak could mean a profit of up to 40% in the next two years. Plus, rental rates in these areas are already on the rise, giving homeowners a nice extra income.

What are the challenges here?

On one hand, property prices are soaring. On the other, buying a home is becoming a distant dream for the middle class. The demand is so high that real estate deals are happening left, right, and centre. With less land available, it's highly unlikely that prices will come down anytime soon.

Overall, the Namma Metro expansion is completely changing the game for South Bengaluru. So, will you invest now or wait for prices to drop? Market analysts warn that waiting could cost you more than you think.
