An email received later confirmed that one of the two identified bodies was that of their son.

However, the family says it has not received further details since then.

Joyan said the company had told them that bringing a body back could usually take 10 to 15 days.

When the Western Railway reportedly incurred a financial loss of approximately INR 104.51 crore due to the theft of linen items from AC coaches between January 2022 and May 2026, a bizarre use of the stolen property has surfaced online, especially on X (formerly Twitter).

In a video that has gone viral on social media, a man was seen walking through a market in Madhya Pradesh's Gaurihar wearing a kurta that appeared to be stitched from fabric clearly bearing 'Western Railway' markings. The garment did not seem to feature a similar-looking pattern by coincidence; instead, it appeared to be made by repurposing official railway bedsheet fabric.

As the Western Railway has been subjected to persistent, large-scale theft of passenger essential items from the AC coaches, the recent footage of the man sporting this improvised garment appeared to be evidence of the blatant disregard for public property.

Also Read: Watch: Crocodile Walks Into Kota Hostel Kitchen, Triggers Panic Among Students, Staff

Western Railway Bedsheet Turns Kurta

The blatant misuse of the Western Railway's property captured in this video highlights the growing audacity behind the stealing of items meant for public comfort. The footage was captured by a man who was following the individual in the market, questioning him about the origin of his clothing.

The man was seen casually walking through the market, buying vegetables, seemingly oblivious to, or unconcerned by, the fact that the 'Western Railway' branding was clearly visible on the back of his kurta. The person who recorded the video said he was initially shocked by the unusual outfit, while the man wearing it appeared aware that he was being filmed.

Unbothered by the scrutiny, the man calmly carried out his routine, seemingly indifferent to the cameras and the questions surrounding his unusual attire.

Western Railway really entered the fashion industry...A man was spotted wearing a kurta made from fabric that appears to be a Western Railway AC coach bedsheet.Railway linen theft is a recurring issue across Indian Railways.Missing bedsheets, towels, and blankets increase… pic.twitter.com/gr8KHlj9Wz

— Gems Of Railway (@GemsOfRailway) July 19, 2026

The video surfaced at a time when the Western Railway had reportedly lost 1.27 crore individual bedroll items, including face towels, bedsheets, pillow covers, blankets, and pillows, which were stolen from AC coaches across the country.

The theft in the train by the passengers has become a serious concern not only for Indian Railways but also for the staff, who are forced to bear the financial burden of missing items.

Social Media Erupts Over Viral 'Western Railway' Kurta

The viral footage of a man wearing a kurta seemingly stitched from fabric bearing 'Western Railway' markings triggered a flood of reactions on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), with netizens raising serious concerns over alleged theft and misuse of railway property.

Taking to their X handles, many questioned how the bedsheet ended up in the open market and demanded a thorough inquiry, while others speculated about the possible involvement of railway staff in the supply chain, given the scale of linen thefts reported over the years.

Several users condemned the incident as a waste of taxpayers' money, while a section of the internet responded with humour, joking that the railway bedsheet had gone ‘from berth to wardrobe.’

In the first place How did they get access to this bedsheet? This is a failure of the railway authorities they are allowing local passengers to enter 3AC coach. There are no strict rules or laws being enforced.

A shocking murder case has emerged from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, where a woman and her lover have been arrested for allegedly using a poisonous snake to kill her husband in an attempt to claim a Rs 20 lakh insurance policy. The incident took place in the Hastinapur area during the early hours of Friday. The victim, 32-year-old Atul Panwar, was initially believed to have died after being bitten by a snake while sleeping at home.

His wife, 30-year-old Damini Panwar, claimed she found him unconscious when she returned to the room early in the morning. She also told police she saw a snake on the bed and raised an alarm. The reptile was later killed by local residents.

Kerala Shuts Schools, Colleges on Monday for FIFA World Cup Final; CM VD Satheesan Approves Holiday

Police investigation exposed the alleged conspiracy

The case took a different turn after investigators found a snakebite mark on Atul's right leg. His family expressed doubts over the incident and urged police to investigate further, according to a report by the Times of India.

According to Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police Avinash Pandey, Damini and Atul had married seven years ago and recently started a playschool. They had hired Tushar Kumar as the school's van driver, and police allege Damini later began an affair with him.

During the investigation, officers examined phone records and found frequent contact between Damini and Tushar, the TOI report added. Police also recovered photographs of a snake kept inside a box from Tushar's mobile phone, strengthening their suspicion.

Watch: Crocodile Walks Into Kota Hostel Kitchen, Triggers Panic Among Students, Staff

Police say murder was planned for insurance money

Police alleged that Damini mixed sleeping pills into her husband's milk before he went to bed. After he became unconscious, she and Tushar allegedly released the poisonous snake onto the bed, where it bit Atul.

Investigators further claimed the pair had earlier tried to kill Atul by staging a road accident, but the attempt failed. They then allegedly planned the snake attack to make the death appear accidental.

Police said the main motive was to claim Atul's Rs 20 lakh insurance policy. Investigators also alleged that the two planned to marry after receiving the insurance money, with Tushar intending to divorce his wife.

Panic at UP School After Principal Walks in With Knife and Cleaver, Probe Launched After Viral Video

Four arrested in the case

Apart from Damini and Tushar, police also arrested two snake charmers, identified as Sonu Kumar and Uday Kumar, for allegedly supplying the snake used in the crime.

An FIR has been registered under Sections 103(1) (murder) and 123 (causing hurt by means of poison or intoxication) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

As the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests at Jantan Manter grabbed headlines for the ongoing 2026 NEET/CBSE exam controversies and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a separate, deeply unsettling incident has emerged from the sidelines, capturing widespread attention on social media.

In a video that went viral on social media, an elderly man was seen openly intimidating an individual by threatening to weaponise his own daughter and falsely implicate him in a sexual assault case. The father of a woman didn’t hesitate to use such a grave and sensitive accusation as a tool for intimidation.

Since false allegations and genuine cases of sexual assault are both matters of serious legal and social concern, the video has reignited discussions online about the alleged misuse of criminal accusations as a means of intimidation.

Also Read: India Vs Bhutan: Travel Couple's Border Video Shows Stark Difference in Roads, Cleanliness and Civic Sense (WATCH)

Elderly Man’s Open Intimidation Goes Viral

As the CJP protests were taking place on the sidelines, the YouTuber, who was present at the demonstrations, happened to meet an elderly man, who was openly confronting him with a threat of his own daughter to ensure his life was ruined.

In viral footage recorded by the YouTuber, the elderly man was heard saying that he would level false allegations against him by tearing his own daughter's clothes and using the manufactured scene to ensure the YouTuber is jailed on sexual assault charges. The youth-based movement, started by Abhijeet Dipke, drew students, parents and supporters to Jantar Mantar, where demonstrators marched under the 'Chalo Sansad' banner demanding action over the alleged examination irregularities.

However, on the sidelines of the protests, the elderly man's alleged threat against the YouTuber quickly became one of the most talked-about moments online, shifting attention from the demonstration to the disturbing exchange captured on camera.

Social Media Condemns Elderly Man's Shocking Threat

The viral video of an elderly man opening with a threatening individual with a false sexual assault case on camera has triggered a wave of reactions on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), with users expressing shock over the remarks and condemning the apparent attempt to misuse a serious criminal allegation for intimidation.

Taking to their X handles, several users condemned the elderly man's remarks, with many describing them as deeply disturbing and expressing concern for his daughter. Others described such allegations as undermining the credibility of genuine survivors of sexual assault, while some called for legal action and a thorough investigation into the incident.

However, some expressed concern for the elderly man's daughter, while others claimed the remarks exposed a disturbing mindset and called for psychiatric help, accountability, and stronger action against such behaviour.

This is the highest level of misogyny & objectification of women.

A truck driver has allegedly exposed an extortion racket at a Regional Transport Office (RTO) checkpoint while driving through Morena district in Madhya Pradesh. Since the truck drivers often go through border areas where they remain vulnerable to harassment from unauthorized individuals, who set up illegal and makeshift checkpoints to extort money under the guise of official inspections.

In a video that went viral on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), the footage captured how the truck driver confronted the individuals, demanding to know the authority under which they were collecting money and refusing to pay the bribe.

The video was captured at a time when the Madhya Pradesh Government abolished all interstate transport checkpoints on July 1, 2024, to curb corruption and modernize the system, but the status of these checkpoints has been a subject of intense legal scrutiny in 2026.

Also Read: Viral Video Shows Youth Saving Elderly Woman Stuck in Flooded Bilaspur Street (WATCH)

How Truck Driver Confronted the Alleged Extortionists?

The incident was reportedly captured in a video that went viral on social media around mid-July 2026, showcasing a truck driver confronting individuals who were operating a makeshift, unauthorized checkpoint on a highway

In the video, an individual who was dressed in an official police uniform was seen attempting a bribe of INR 200 from a truck driver in order to allow the vechile in order to allow the vehicle passage. As the truck driver began to film the entire incident and started questioning the legality of the collection, the individual, realising he was being recorded, quietly removed the barricade.

The individual’s attempt to evade accountability backfired as the driver continued to record the confrontation, capturing the man’s sudden shift from demanding payment to hurriedly dismantling the illegal barricade in an effort to avoid further scrutiny.
    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by theindiaonfeedofficial (@theindiaonfeedofficial)

The unauthorized checkpoints in certain districts of Madhya Pradesh have become a significant point of contention and a source of widespread frustration for the transport community. These illicit setups exploit the logistical vulnerabilities of truck drivers by creating artificial bottlenecks on state borders.

Though checkpoints often serve the purpose of maintaining road safety, verifying vehicle documents, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations, the unauthorised and illicit setups pervert that objective by prioritizing the extraction of illegal fees over actual enforcement of legal mandates.

What Madhya Pradesh Government Has Done To Address This Issue?

Since the extortion of truck drivers by unauthorized individuals at makeshift checkpoints has become a persistent issue, the Madhya Pradesh Government’s approach has been defined by a complex shift in policy and ongoing judicial oversight.

On July 1, the government ordered the abolition of the checkpoints across the state in order to reduce corruption, streamline interstate freight movement, and modernize enforcement. The administration intended to replace these with a more transparent framework relying on mobile enforcement units and flying squads.

The Madhya Pradesh Government’s action against illegal checkposts came after the High Court ordered the state to restore all closed checkposts within 30 days, citing concerns that their absence had failed to adequately regulate overloaded vehicles and threatened road safety. However, the legal situation remained fluid as the High Court subsequently stayed its own order to revive these checkpoints in May 2026.

Additionally, the state authorities have been directed to maintain strict oversight, with the government reiterating its commitment to taking strict action against any complaints regarding the transport system to ensure that the new, transparent framework is not undermined by illicit activities.

Also Read: Rahul Gandhi's 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' in Dehradun targets paper leaks

The 7.5-km stretch connects Kalena Agrahara with Tavarekere via 6 stations, including a hospital.

People travelling along Bannerghatta Road in Bengaluru may have to wait a little longer for the city's Metro network to reach their area.

The elevated section of the Pink Line, which was expected to open by August 15, is now likely to start services in late August or early September, according to sources familiar with the project.

The deadline had been set by Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda. However, the line is yet to complete some key signalling tests and safety approvals needed before passenger services can begin, according to a report by Deccan Herald.

'He Was Set To Marry Next April': Kerala Family Awaits Body of Sailor Killed in Ukraine ship attack

The 7.5-km elevated stretch runs from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere and has six stations. One of the most important stations on the route is Jayadeva Hospital, where passengers will be able to interchange with the Yellow Line.

Once opened, the section will take Bengaluru's operational Metro network to 103.6 km.

Most of the physical work on the line is already complete. Civil works, track laying and much of the finishing work have been done. Six trains have also been delivered for the new section.

However, the remaining testing and certification work has pushed back the opening schedule.

The Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has already conducted key tests on the new trains. Oscillation trials were held to determine safe operating speeds, while Emergency Braking Distance tests checked the trains' braking performance.

These tests were conducted between April 28 and May 9. The Interim Speed Certificate (ISC) is now expected to be issued within the next few days.

New Aadhaar App Crosses 4 Crore Downloads: Here's How To Update Mobile Number, Address And Use All Features

The bigger hurdle is the Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) certificate for the signalling system.

The assessment will be carried out by Bengaluru-based Jodova Technologies Pvt Ltd. It will examine the signalling system and how it works with other parts of the Metro network.

The assessment will also cover important safety systems, including Automatic Train Protection (ATP) and Automatic Train Operation (ATO).

While ATP testing has reportedly been completed, ATO validation is still in progress. These tests check whether trains can operate automatically, stop accurately and berth correctly at stations.

Sources said signalling software is being upgraded before it is installed on the trains. Further testing is expected between August 3 and 5, followed by the ISA assessment on August 5 and 6.

Employee Confronts Boss Over 'No Reason' Termination; Viral Video Fuels Toxic Work Culture Debate (WATCH)

After the ISA certificate is obtained, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will apply to the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) for the statutory safety inspection.

The CMRS will also inspect the Kothanur depot and check facilities such as the washing plant, underframe water-jet cleaning system and train-lifting equipment.

The inspection is expected to take place in the third week of August. If the CMRS raises any concerns, BMRCL will first have to address them before the line can open to passengers.

This process could push the opening to late August or early September.

Cat Faces Striking Cobra, Dodges Every Attack In Viral Video, Internet Can't Believe It (WATCH)

The elevated section is only part of the larger Pink Line project.

The 13.75-km underground stretch between Dairy Circle and Nagawara is currently scheduled to open in March 2027.

For Bannerghatta Road commuters, the immediate wait is for the elevated section to clear its final safety checks and begin operations.

To tackle Bengaluru's growing traffic congestion and improve road safety, the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) have proposed a major new traffic management plan. The proposal focuses on reducing the number of heavy and medium-sized vehicles on city roads during the day. Under the draft plan, these vehicles, along with private buses, will be divided into five categories, with some facing restrictions of up to 14 hours every day.

Heavy Vehicles Divided into Five Categories

The proposed policy classifies vehicles into the following five groups::

Super heavy vehicles weighing over 16 tonnes.

Heavy vehicles weighing between 8 and 16 tonnes.

Medium-sized goods transport vehicles.

Slow-moving vehicles like tractors, bullock carts, handcarts and small goods carriers.

Private buses that have an All India Permit (AIP).

UP Shocker! Meerut Woman Kills Sister-in-Law Over Suspected Affair with Husband, Arrested

Private buses and heavy trucks may face strict restrictions!

Crackdown on Private Buses: One of the biggest changes in the proposal is a complete ban on private buses with an All India Permit from entering Bengaluru between 8 AM and 10 PM.

If implemented, private bus operators will have to drop passengers at designated locations on the outskirts of the city. Separate shuttle services will then be required to transport passengers into Bengaluru.

Permanent Ban for Vehicles Over 16 Tonnes: The proposal also recommends a permanent ban on vehicles weighing more than 16 tonnes from entering city roads. These heavy trucks would instead unload their goods at transshipment hubs outside the city, where smaller vehicles would take over deliveries.

Vehicles Weighing 8 to 16 Tonnes: Vehicles weighing between 8 and 16 tonnes may not be allowed to enter the city between 7 AM and 10 PM.

Medium and Slow-Moving Vehicles: Medium-sized goods vehicles will face stricter restrictions during peak traffic hours, while slow-moving vehicles such as tractors, bullock carts and handcarts may be barred from major roads, especially within the Central Business District (CBD).

Essential Goods are Exempt: However, vehicles carrying essential goods such as milk and vegetables will be exempt from these restrictions.

'Cycle Tracks Are Meant For Cyclists': Scooters, Bikes on Delhi Cycling Lane Trigger Civic Sense Debate (WATCH)

Why the rules are being changed

The current traffic restrictions were introduced in 2014 under the then Bengaluru Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi.

At that time, only heavy vehicles faced restrictions during morning and evening peak hours, while medium-sized commercial vehicles were allowed throughout the day.

Since then, Bengaluru's registered vehicle population has nearly doubled, from around 60 lakh in 2015 to nearly 1.2 crore today, while road infrastructure has not expanded at the same pace. Traffic police believe the existing rules are no longer enough to manage the city's growing congestion.

Hidden Camera Exposes Alleged Affair Between Two Teachers at Uttar Pradesh School, Both Suspended

Faster traffic is the goal

According to the 2025 TomTom Traffic Index, vehicles in Bengaluru moved at an average speed of just 14 km/h.

Traffic police estimate that removing slow-moving heavy vehicles from busy roads could increase the city's average travel speed by at least 2 km/h.

Before preparing the proposal, officials studied Hyderabad's traffic management model introduced in 2024, along with practices followed in several other Indian and international cities.

Before the proposal is finalised, Bengaluru Traffic Police will hold stakeholder consultations with transport associations, businesses and members of the public. The final policy will be prepared after considering their feedback.

Watch: Man Cheats Death as Gunmen Open Fire Inside Karnataka Club near Police Commissioner's Office

New UIDAI Aadhaar App has crossed 4 crore downloads, reflecting growing use of digital Aadhaar services. The app lets users update mobile number, address and email, download e-Aadhaar, lock or unlock biometrics and complete Face ID-based verification

India's new Aadhaar App has crossed the 4 crore (40 million) download mark, highlighting the growing shift towards digital identity services. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announced the milestone, saying millions of residents are now using the app to manage Aadhaar-related services directly from their smartphones.

The Aadhaar App has crossed a significant milestone of 40 million (4 crore) downloads, underscoring the growing trust of residents in convenient and digital-first identity services. For more details, click here - https://t.co/GVXqaTVlfi#AadhaarApp #DigitalIdentity #Aadhaar pic.twitter.com/qLe5eLSDyQ

— Aadhaar (@UIDAI) July 18, 2026

The app was launched on 28 January 2026 as the next-generation replacement for the older mAadhaar application. Since then, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has encouraged users to move to the new platform, which is available on both Android and iOS devices.

The redesigned app is aimed at reducing paperwork, making Aadhaar verification easier and allowing users to complete several important tasks without visiting an Aadhaar centre.

The latest figures released by the government show how quickly people have adopted the new app. According to MeitY:

The Aadhaar App has crossed 4 crore downloads

Around 49 lakh mobile numbers have been updated through the app

More than 11.65 lakh addresses have been updated

Nearly 12.5 lakh email addresses have been added or updated

Users have locked or unlocked their Aadhaar biometrics more than 1.91 crore times

These numbers indicate that many Aadhaar holders now prefer completing routine updates through their phones instead of visiting Aadhaar centres whenever possible.

What services are available on the new Aadhaar App?

The new Aadhaar App offers much more than simply storing a digital Aadhaar card. It combines identity verification, profile management and privacy-focused features in one place. The services currently available include:

Face ID-based Aadhaar authentication

QR code-based digital identity sharing

One-click biometric lock and unlock

Consent-based sharing of selected

Aadhaar details Addition of up to five Aadhaar profiles on one device

Mobile number update (for eligible users)

Address update

Email address addition or update

Downloading e-Aadhaar

The biggest change is that users no longer need to depend heavily on photocopies of their Aadhaar card for many verification purposes.

For years, people were routinely asked to submit photocopies of their Aadhaar card while buying a SIM card, checking into hotels, opening bank accounts, applying for government schemes or completing rental agreements.

This often meant sharing more personal information than necessary.

The new Aadhaar App focuses on digital verification instead of physical document sharing. Users can verify their identity digitally while sharing only the information required for a particular service. This helps improve privacy and reduces unnecessary sharing of Aadhaar copies.

Can you update your mobile number through the Aadhaar App?

Yes, but only in certain situations.

According to UIDAI, you can update your mobile number through the Aadhaar App if your existing registered mobile number is already linked to Aadhaar and is still available with you.

Since the process requires OTP verification, users must have access to their currently registered number.

However, if you have lost your registered mobile number or never linked one with Aadhaar, you cannot complete the update through the app.

In such cases, you must visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or an authorised Aadhaar enrolment and update centre to complete the process.

Eligible users can update their mobile number by following these steps:

Open the Aadhaar App and log in.

Go to the Services section.

Select Mobile Number Update.

Enter the new mobile number.

Verify the details shown on the screen.

Submit the request.

Save the Update Request Number (URN) to track the application status.

— Aadhaar (@UIDAI) July 19, 2026

Can you update your address?

Yes.

The Aadhaar App allows users to submit address update requests online, making the process much easier than before. Users simply need to:

Open the Aadhaar App.

Log in using OTP verification.

Select Address Update.

Enter the new address.

Upload supporting documents if required.

Submit the request.

Use the generated URN to track progress.

UIDAI also supports the Head of Family (HoF) method. Under this option, a family member whose Aadhaar already contains the correct address can approve another family member's address update request through the Aadhaar App.

The Aadhaar App introduced the email update facility on 1 July 2026.

To encourage more users to add an email address, the government has waived the usual Rs 75 fee for email updates made through the Aadhaar App until 31 December 2026.

Adding an email address allows users to receive Aadhaar-related alerts and communication more conveniently.

Free Aadhaar document update extended

UIDAI has also extended its free online Aadhaar document update facility.

Residents can now update and verify their identity and address documents online without paying any fee until 14 June 2027.

The service was earlier scheduled to end on 15 June 2026, but has now been extended by one year.

The Aadhaar App reflects the government's broader push towards digital public services.

Instead of carrying printed Aadhaar copies or repeatedly submitting photocopies, users can now complete many verification processes digitally while keeping better control over their personal information.

Features such as Face ID authentication, QR-based verification, consent-based data sharing and biometric locking are designed to improve both convenience and security.

— Aadhaar (@UIDAI) July 20, 2026

The growing number of downloads and updates suggests that more residents are becoming comfortable managing their Aadhaar details through their smartphones.

For millions of Aadhaar holders, the app has become a one-stop platform for updating personal details, downloading e-Aadhaar, managing biometric security and completing identity verification from home, reducing paperwork and saving time.

Football fans across Kerala have received welcome news, with the state government declaring a holiday for all schools and colleges on Monday following the FIFA Club World Cup final. The decision applies to all educational institutions across the state, including professional colleges. The government said the holiday was announced as the final match is scheduled to be played late at night, making it difficult for many students and staff to attend classes the next morning.

Chief Minister VD Satheesan gave the final approval for the holiday after several ministers backed the proposal. The official decision comes following widespread public demand from football fans across Kerala.

Panic at UP School After Principal Walks in With Knife and Cleaver, Probe Launched After Viral Video

Exams to be held as scheduled

While educational institutions will remain closed, the government has clarified that examinations already scheduled for Monday will be conducted without any changes.

Students appearing for exams have been asked to follow the existing timetable, as the holiday will not affect any previously announced examination schedules.

Viral Video Shows Youth Saving Elderly Woman Stuck in Flooded Bilaspur Street (WATCH)

Decision follows public demand

The demand for a holiday had been gaining momentum on social media over the past few days. Many football fans argued that the World Cup final, scheduled in the early hours of Monday, would make it difficult for students and teachers to attend educational institutions the next morning.

The Youth Congress also formally urged the government to declare a holiday, saying the move would allow football lovers to enjoy the historic final without worrying about school or college attendance.

Ministers backed the proposal

According to the government, the decision was taken after receiving support from several ministers. The final approval was given by the Chief Minister, leading to the state-wide holiday announcement.

Even before the state-wide announcement, a few schools in Ernakulam district had independently declared a holiday in anticipation of the final.

Earlier, the Education Minister had confirmed that the government was considering the proposal after receiving requests from various quarters.

The Mumbai local has been witnessing several incidents of violence recently, with commuters expressing deep alarm over the deteriorating safety conditions on the suburban network. In June this year, a 22-year-old passenger was tragically stabbed to death in a first-class compartment during a dispute over the closure of a train door.

Now, another incident emerged from Mumbai Local, where a heated seat dispute inside a luggage compartment escalated into a brutal physical attack, leaving three passengers injured. In a video that went viral on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), a couple of men can be seen viciously attacking other commuters with an iron rod and metal bangles, turning a routine commute into a scene of pure chaos.

Over the last few months, the Mumbai Local has been at the forefront of not only rising passenger unrest but also increasing scrutiny regarding the efficacy of existing security protocols. The lifeline of the city has turned into a theater of frequent conflict, where minor inconveniences quickly descend into life-threatening violence.

Also Read: Husband Catches Wife With Another Man, Drags Him Out of Hotel & Brutally Beats Him (WATCH)

How Incident Unfolded on the Mumbai Local?

Just a month after the shocking stabbing of a 22-year-old man by a fellow commuter during a dispute over a train door, tensions flared once again in the luggage compartment of a local train, which is famously called the city’s ‘lifeline’, given the sheer volume of passengers it transports daily across the metropolitan region.

According to the reports, the incident took place near Kalyan when a verbal argument over seating arrangements in a luggage compartment rapidly deteriorated into a violent confrontation. As the dispute intensified, a group of men allegedly began to attack others with an iron rod and metal bangles.

In a viral video, one of the attackers can be heard shouting, ‘Machine Kadd’ (pull out the weapon or pull out the knife), a command that sent a wave of terror through the crowded compartment as bystanders scrambled to move away from the conflict.

Mumbai local train Kalesh caught on camera: Commuters brawling, one heard shouting “pull out the knife.” pic.twitter.com/6gnLbiBv6w

— Ghar Ke Kalesh (@gharkekalesh) July 16, 2026

Three people were injured in the incident, and two of them were shifted from Rukminibai Hospital in Kalyan West to Sion Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment for their injuries. The Kalyan Police have filed a formal case and are currently utilizing the circulating video evidence to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.

The investigation, spearheaded by Government Railway Police (GRP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), is reportedly examining the circumstances of the brawl to determine if the attackers had prior criminal records, while also ramping up efforts to bolster patrolling in high-risk zones.

Netizens React to Rising Aggression on Mumbai Local

The recent incident of aggression on a Mumbai local has triggered a debate on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), with netizens expressing deep concern and frustration over the increasingly volatile atmosphere on the city’s suburban trains.

Taking to their X handles, netizens expressed shock and frustration over the growing violence on Mumbai's suburban trains. While some described such incidents as the ‘new normal’ and sarcastically compared the daily commute to Fight Club, others raised concern over a reported knife threat on Mumbai Local.

Some urged authorities to take stricter action and warned that such violent confrontations were becoming increasingly common on public transport.

New Normal https://t.co/1z77VwkVHc

— Dinkar Singh Rawat (@dinkarsr11) July 16, 2026

Mumbai locals: where the daily commute comes with free Fight Club membership and bonus knife threats.

When civic sense has become a topic of debate of late, given the increasingly frequent reports of chaotic scenes in public spaces, a railway station, reportedly in Bihar, witnessed passengers rushing to collect packets of chips scattered across the platform, leaving onlookers stunned.

In a video that went viral on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), passengers were seen grabbing packs of potato chips kept on the platform, leading to a scene of utter bedlam. The chaotic scenes at a railway station in Bihar reportedly erupted when packets of potato chips were left unattended on the platform, and passengers rushed to collect them.

As the Indian Railways has been in the news of late after the RTI report revealed that it is grappling with significant operational challenges, especially a significant surge in theft and loss of onboard amenities, this incident has only added to the public discourse regarding systemic oversight and passenger conduct.

Also Read: Man Engulfed in Flames After Electric Meter Blast in Delhi's Karol Bagh, Disturbing Video Surfaces

How Did the Chaotic Scenes Unfold?

According to local reports, the chaotic scene at a railway station in Bihar unfolded when a train stopped at the platform and cartons of potato chips, reportedly being unloaded by a vendor, were left unattended for a brief period.

As soon as the passengers saw packets scattered on the ground, a frantic, unrestrained rush ensued. Commuters, apparently disregarding the presence of the vendor or the potential consequences of their actions, surged towards the packets, picking them up in handfuls as others quickly joined the scramble.

Within seconds, the platform descended into chaos, with passengers pushing and shoving each other in a desperate bid to grab as many packets as possible. Some were taking away a few packets of potato chips, while others simply hurried past after snatching whatever they could reach. However, as soon as the passengers saw the police, they immediately grabbed the packets of chips and boarded the train.

That's why western countries called us third world country. pic.twitter.com/zCSWBm7Rqu

— Gems Of Railway (@GemsOfRailway) July 19, 2026

The chaotic scenes at a railway station, widely reported on social media as being in Bihar, concluded as swiftly as they began. At a time when civic sense and public responsibility have become a subject of intense public scrutiny, this incident has served as another unsettling illustration of the fragility of order in high-traffic public spaces.

Despite the cartons of potato chips’ packets being left unattended on the platform, the passengers engaged in behaviour that raises serious concerns around public conduct and the prevailing mindset in high-density transit zones.

Social Media Erupts Over Viral Railway Station Chaos

The viral video of passengers rushing to snatch potato chips has ignited a fierce debate across social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), with netizens expressing sharply polarized views.

Taking to their X handles, several users criticised the passengers' behaviour, calling it a glaring example of the lack of civic sense in public spaces, while others argued that such incidents reflect a broader societal mindset, especially given the tendency to exploit situations where goods are left unattended.

Some users blamed poor civic sense, whereas others pointed to systemic issues such as poverty, crowd psychology, and inadequate supervision in public spaces.

These are the people who blame the government for corruption while being selfish themselvesWe'll never have a sincere government if the citizens are selfish, kyuki in the end ek Citizen hi to GOV banta hai.... https://t.co/tPHdGsRYTh

— PlayerXYouTube (@IamplayerXYT) July 19, 2026

Indian Railways should send its officers and new recruits to China to learn the basics of managing an efficient railway system. https://t.co/t6pGstpesK

— Mohammed Zawid Naseem (@MohammedZawid) July 19, 2026

Even if it takes a thousand years, without civic sense , india would still be a third world country https://t.co/J6ejEI6CYl

— Dr.dark knight (@darkknight11010) July 19, 2026

People don't understand this isn't a cultural mindset, it's a poverty mindset.

When social media and reels have become an obsession for some, the quest for the perfect shot often leads to breaches of public decorum and sanctity, particularly in religious places in India, where photography is not only restricted but also discouraged to preserve the sacred atmosphere.

In a video that went viral on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), a young girl was furiously asked by the police in the temple to stop filming immediately. The footage captured a tense moment as the officer was visibly frustrated by the disregard for the rules and demanded that she stop making the reel and put her phone away.

The temple is a place for religious worship of gods and goddesses, attracting devotees seeking peace and spiritual solace. Violating its rules, including restrictions on photography and videography, not only disrupts the sanctity of the premises and the experience of fellow devotees but also reflects a lack of respect for the temple's traditions and customs.

Also Read: Viral Video: Fight Over Who Gets Samosas First Ends In Chaotic Clash At Pune Sweet Shop | WATCH

How Police Caught Girl Making Reel Inside Temple Premises?

A young girl, dressed in purple, was seen dancing and posing for a video inside the temple premises, adjacent to the devotees' entry line. A person, believed to be one of her parents and not visible in the frame, appeared to be recording the video as she performed for the camera, despite the temple's strict rules prohibiting photography and videography.

Although she was dancing beside the main walkway, her proximity to devotees entering the temple quickly drew the attention of the security personnel. The devotees, who were standing in the entrance queue, appeared visibly surprised by the girl's actions, with several of them turning to look as the incident unfolded.

As soon as the security personnel noticed the incident, a police officer inside the temple immediately approached the girl and sternly instructed her to stop recording. The officer asked her to put her phone away, making it clear that filming inside the temple premises was strictly prohibited.

How were these kids raised ?Their behaviour says everything about the values they were taught .Shame on the parents who failed to teach them basic values and etiquette they need to have at temples .This is the civic sense we need to speak .Are they really for prayer or… pic.twitter.com/QJJaxljXbY

— Pankaj (@Ragepkj) July 14, 2026

Although the girl appeared to put her phone away after the police officer's intervention, the incident highlights growing concerns over the increasing tendency to treat sacred spaces as backdrops for social media content.

The issue cannot stem only from an obsession with likes and shares by creating reels or any content, but also from a fundamental lack of awareness and sensitivity regarding the decorum expected in places of worship.

Netizens Criticise Reel Shoot Inside Temple Premises

The viral video of the girl filming a reel inside the temple premises sparked widespread criticism on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), with netizens questioning the decision to record content inside a place of worship despite clear restrictions.

Taking to their X handles, netizens criticised the girl's actions and questioned the role of the accompanying adult, with many arguing that parents should instil basic civic sense and respect for places of worship rather than encourage such behaviour. However, others called for a ban on mobile phones inside temple premises.

Many users also stressed that faith should be reflected not only through prayers but also through respectful conduct in sacred spaces. Several raised concerns over children being exposed to social media at a young age, arguing that parents should exercise greater responsibility by supervising their children's use of smartphones.

Ban mobile phones in the temple premises, adhi bheed bhi kam ho jayegi https://t.co/OCgCO1OlRJ

— Madhvi Ojha (@madhviojhaa) July 15, 2026

People spend lakhs on their kids' education, but fail to teach them basic civic sense. https://t.co/flTsLzyft7

— Vivek (@Vivek_Investor) July 15, 2026

dance civilization begins at young age. https://t.co/nMjBZQqt2j

— Mouna (@kw841) July 15, 2026

I'm quite sure her parents were filming this and were proud of it. https://t.co/Zgt4bOqBCW

— Kashinath 2.0 (@TheDeolsFC) July 15, 2026

What is this‍‍ how their parents tolerated this??? https://t.co/fVCkF4duY7

— Mitravinda (@Mitravinda_23) July 15, 2026

The audacity to evn post the part where they were shooed away Ppl will sell their soul fr buzz Evn influence young minds to do it.Hindus learn to respect ur faith & stop making a mockery out of itIzzat karo dharam ki, sharam karo kaise karam ki https://t.co/EZRewIi2GB

— Namz❤️‍♻️ (@PadhaiKaroPadai) July 15, 2026

Also these parents give phones to these children at very young age, insta is already there to spoil these brats.

At an age when many people begin thinking about retirement, 56-year-old Reshma spends her days travelling across Bengaluru, delivering Amazon parcels to support her family. A cancer survivor, she has been working as a delivery associate for the past five years, refusing to give up despite serious health challenges and mounting financial pressure.

Every day begins with a delivery route

Reshma starts her day at 7 am by loading parcels into her electric rickshaw before heading out on her delivery route. Years ago, she underwent surgery for oral cancer, which permanently changed the left side of her face. One of her eyes waters constantly, and she cannot fully lift one of her arms.

Despite these physical difficulties, she climbs flights of stairs every day to ensure customers receive their packages.

"Many people ask me, 'Why do you do this job if you can't climb stairs?' But if I quit, who will run my family?" she says.

'Adjust For Just 1 Km': Pune Cab Driver's Request to Women Mid-Ride Triggers Safety Debate (WATCH)

COVID-19 forced a complete career change

Before becoming a delivery associate, Reshma stitched shirts for garment factories from her home. She earned around ₹1,000 a day and managed to support her family through tailoring.

However, when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down garment factories, she lost her only source of income. Left with no steady earnings, she joined Amazon as a delivery associate to make ends meet.

One tragedy after another

The family's struggles began in 2014 when her son was diagnosed with kidney failure. They borrowed around Rs 7 lakh for his treatment, but despite spending seven months in hospital, he could not be saved.

Just a year later, Reshma was diagnosed with oral cancer. In 2016, she underwent a major reconstructive surgery in which doctors used skin and bone from her thigh to rebuild part of her face.

Bengaluru Law Student Stabbed to Death by Man for Rejecting His Brother's ‘Love’

Daily earnings, but debts continue

Today, Reshma earns around Rs 700 a day through deliveries. Her daughter works at a car showroom and earns about Rs 15,000 a month. Even with both incomes, the family continues to struggle financially.

To manage household expenses and her daughter's wedding, the family borrowed another Rs 7-8 lakh through microfinance loans. They even purchased gold earrings and a chain on loan for the wedding but may now have to return the jewellery because they cannot afford the interest.

Carrying the family's responsibility

According to Reshma, her husband has not contributed much to the family's finances since their son's death. She says he developed an alcohol addiction after the tragedy, leaving her and her daughter to shoulder all the household responsibilities.

"I work all day just to earn enough for one square meal," she says.

Viral Video of Woman Hurting Three-Month-Old Nephew Sparks Outrage, Family Members Detained

Kindness keeps her going

Reshma says not every day is easy. Some customers ignore her calls or insist she climb several floors despite her visible health condition.

Still, she remembers the people who treated her with kindness. One customer handed her Rs 500 and told her to buy something to eat. The gesture, she says, is something she will never forget.

A growing reality for older workers

Reshma's story reflects a larger trend across India. Rising living costs, debt, health problems and the absence of pension security are forcing many people in their 50s and 60s into the gig economy.

Today, older workers are increasingly seen delivering food, groceries and parcels for companies such as Amazon, Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit and Uber. Labour unions say many of them work 12 to 14 hours a day, with little hope of retiring anytime soon.

Bengaluru's Biggest Metro Line Gets a New Timeline: Here's Why Commuters Must Wait Until 2033

Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s wife and sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan has strongly condemned the reported use of tear gas against a six-year-old child at the Cockroach Janata Party protest across Delhi on Tuesday, July 21.

The CJP ‘Sansad Chalo’ movement has turned violent after protestors clashed with police and security forces near major transit hubs and government buildings, leading to widespread chaos and the deployment of tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. The Delhi police unleashed batons on protesters, resulting in injuries to multiple demonstrators and escalating tensions across the capital.

However, reports emerged that a six-year-old was affected by tear gas after shells were fired in the area, sparking widespread outrage on social media and drawing criticism from several public figures.

Also Read: NEET protest: Jitendra Singh slams Rahul Gandhi for changing demands

Sanjana Slams Authorities Over Tear Gas at Child

Following the reports of tear gas being used in the area where the child was present, Sanjana Ganesan reacted to the incident with an emotional statement on her Instagram Stories, urging authorities to show restraint and stressing that no democracy should accept children struggling to breathe because of tear gas.

The sports presenter shared a slide from an Instagram carousel on her Stories, which read:

“If this can happen to a six-year-old sitting away from the protest, it can happen to anyone. No democracy should normalize children choking on tear gas. No peaceful citizen should have to fear the people meant to protect them.”

Since the CJP protest witnessed a chaotic conflict between demonstrators and security forces, questions continued to mount regarding police tactics and accountability in managing the capital's streets.

According to reports, nearly 180 protesters were injured during the CJP 'Sansad Chalo' march in Delhi, with multiple opposition leaders and civil rights groups demanding an independent inquiry into the police action and the use of force. The police force has resorted to lathi charges and fired tear gas shells to disperse protesters after clashes escalated near Parliament, leaving several people injured.

Protesters And Opposition Leaders Detained

Meanwhile, Day 2 of the demonstrations saw heavy security deployment and widespread detentions as authorities tried to maintain order across the city. Several political leaders, including Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal, social activists, and other prominent figures, were detained by the authorities.

As tensions across Delhi following the tussle between protesters and Delhi police escalated, security personnel intensified their perimeter restrictions around central zones to prevent further congregation near sensitive government installations.

The Prime Minister’s official residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, became the focal point of high-stakes political demonstrations, as protesters and opposition leaders attempted to stage a demonstration to press for accountability. The demonstrators have been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET-UG Paper Leaks and irregularities in CBSE examinations.

Though the representatives of CPJ, chief spokesperson and independent journalist Saurav Das, and Ashutosh Ranka met with Union Minister JP Nadda at his official residence, there has been no immediate certainty regarding a final resolution, leaving demonstrators and civil rights groups awaiting further developments.

Also Read: NEET-UG 2026 row: Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi detained during protest

Babita is suffering from Adenocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that affects the mesothelial membrane lining the internal organs.

The cancer was detected a few months ago. However, as clear treatment options were not available at the time, Babita was being given palliative care to manage her condition. Her health took a turn for the worse over the past few days. She developed severe swelling in her abdomen and began losing her appetite, prompting zoo officials to carry out detailed tests and reconsider her treatment.

He Painted Homes to Support His Family: Rajasthan Boy Scores 99.15 Percentile in NEET 2026

Team of specialists confirms diagnosis

The examination was led by the zoo's veterinary surgeon, Dr Nikesh Kiran.

Following the examination, a team of specialists, including Dr Sachin Manoj, Dr Jayakrishnan, Dr Aishwarya, Dr Harish C. and Dr Devi, confirmed that Babita was suffering from Adenocarcinoma.

The doctors have said that surgery is not possible because the cancer has already spread throughout her body.

With her condition deteriorating, zoo officials decided to begin chemotherapy after consulting a team of experts.

Vijeta Dahiya Removed as CJP Spokesperson After Viral Burger Row, Memes Take Over Internet

Carboplatin being used for treatment

Babita is now being treated with the chemotherapy drug Carboplatin.

The decision to try chemotherapy was based on a similar case at North Carolina State University in the United States.
