Delhi Police have arrested a 31-year-old software engineer who was earning nearly Rs 30 lakh per year at a multinational company. Police say he left his corporate job to run a fake online trading racket that cheated hundreds of investors across India. The accused, identified as Ravi Rathore, is believed to be the main person behind the fraud. Police arrested him along with two associates after a multi-state operation that covered Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.

How the fraud worked

According to Delhi Police, as reported by India Today, the accused created a fake mobile application and a fraudulent website. The platform was presented as an online trading service. Victims were promised high guaranteed returns with no financial risk.

The syndicate mainly targeted people interested in stock market investments. They told investors that the system used advanced software tools that could generate large profits safely.

Police said the group used convincing methods to gain trust and encourage people to invest money.

Complaint that started the investigation

The case came to light after a resident of Delhi’s Paharganj area filed a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The complainant said he was contacted by unknown callers. They persuaded him to download the trading app and start investing.

Trusting their claims, he transferred Rs 10,000 through several online transactions.

At first, the app showed fake daily profits to build confidence. The display was designed to look real and encourage further deposits.

Demands for more money

When the victim tried to withdraw his money, the operators allegedly asked him to deposit more funds.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajveer Singh said that every time the victim attempted to withdraw money, he was told to pay extra amounts. The excuses included taxes, account activation fees, and processing charges.

These repeated demands made the victim suspicious. After reading government warnings about cyber fraud, he realised he had been cheated and reported the matter to authorities.

FIR and investigation

An FIR was registered on May 1. After that, Delhi Police started a detailed investigation.

The probe included technical surveillance, IP address tracking, server log analysis, and examination of financial transactions.

Investigators found that the backend system and control panel of the fake app were operated from Bengaluru. The calling operations and financial trail were traced to Sanawad in the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh.

Police formed two separate teams to catch the suspects in both states.

Arrests and recovered items

Ravi Rathore was arrested in Bengaluru on May 3. Police recovered two laptops, a mobile phone, and an SUV that was allegedly bought using money from the fraud.

On May 5, another team arrested his associates, Sudama and Vikash Rathod, from Sanawad.

During raids at what police described as a call centre, officers seized 17 mobile phones, five computers, 13 SIM cards, bank account records, ATM cards, and large amounts of digital data. The data included details of thousands of potential victims.

How victims were targeted

Investigators said the group hired female callers to contact victims. The aim was to gain trust and encourage male investors to put in more money.

Police believe this strategy helped the group convince people to invest larger sums.

Role of each accused

Police said Rathore used his background in software development to create and maintain the fake trading platform.

Sudama allegedly funded the operations. Vikash handled calls and communicated with investors to promote the scheme.

Scale of the fraud

Technical analysis showed that 636 victim accounts were created on the platform. Police found around 14,232 transactions linked to the racket. The total amount involved was nearly Rs 99.77 crore.

Officials said part of the money was used to buy flats and other properties in Indore. Luxury vehicles were also purchased.

Possible wider network

Investigators suspect that the accused may be linked to similar fraud cases in other states. Police are now tracing the full money trail. They are also checking mule accounts used to move funds and identifying more victims.

The case highlights how online fraud can look real and convincing. Police action has exposed a large network that allegedly used technology to cheat investors.

Investigations are still ongoing. Authorities say more details may emerge as they continue tracking financial records and digital evidence. The arrests are a major step in stopping the racket and protecting future investors.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in Dadri last week for allegedly murdering his wife and attempting to burn her body to destroy evidence. Police identified the accused as Anuj Chauhan, who had married Monika Nagar, 22, in February.

Authorities said Monika’s half-burnt body was discovered on May 7 in an isolated plot. Investigators revealed that Anuj, along with his parents and a neighbour, transported her body in an SUV before setting it on fire under a pile of cow dung.

Family Alleges Property Pressure

Monika’s relatives accused her husband and in-laws of assaulting her and pressuring her to transfer property worth around ₹3 crore into their names. Her mother, Renu Nagar, told police that Monika had called her on the day of the murder, saying she was being assaulted.

Her brother also reported receiving distress calls from Monika, in which she said she was being forced to hand over her share of family land. Relatives claimed they saw Monika’s body being loaded into a black Fortuner outside Anuj’s house later that evening.

Following the complaint, police registered a case under BNS sections 103 (murder), 238 (causing disappearance of evidence), and 109 (attempt to murder) against seven accused, including Anuj, his parents, younger brother, uncle, aunt, and neighbour Karan Rawal alias Kannu, who was arrested earlier.

Police Probe And Confession

Police said Anuj was arrested during a special operation aided by electronic surveillance. The SUV allegedly used in the crime was seized. During interrogation, Anuj admitted to arguing with Monika after she expressed a desire to visit her parental home.

He claimed family members later told him she had hanged herself and was declared dead at a hospital. He further said villagers advised burning the body.

The autopsy could not determine the cause of death due to the extent of burns, but viscera samples were preserved for forensic examination.

Investigators continue to probe the motive, with focus on the alleged property dispute and the role of family members in the crime.

A video shared by a Mumbai resident has gone viral on social media. The incident reportedly took place in Badlapur, Maharashtra, inside a residential society. The person who posted the video said it was shared for public awareness. He alleged that individuals involved in a loan recovery visit allegedly linked to Bajaj Finance behaved aggressively after being asked to show proper identification and authorisation.

According to the post, the man questioned the visitors about their ID, official permission and reason for entering the premises. He said he was helping a woman from his neighbourhood during the visit. He clarified that the loan or account was not related to him personally. He claimed that the situation later became tense and unsafe inside the society area. The interaction reportedly turned heated from both sides.

Bank Harrasamnet: Bajaj Finance Recovery Agent Caught In Heated Confrontation In Residential Society - Viral video This recovery agent entered the society and things got heated. He said recovery staff should follow proper procedures when visiting residential spaces.

He emphasised that professional behaviour and clear identification are important, especially inside housing societies where many families live.

The viral video has led to discussions online about resident safety, recovery practices, and professional conduct during financial visits.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Infopedia247 (@infopedia247)

Online reaction to the incident

The video triggered strong reactions on social media. Many users said recovery agents must show proper ID and follow rules. Some described the behaviour as wrong and stressful for residents.

Several users mentioned that financial institutions must follow RBI guidelines and avoid harassment. Some demanded strict action against the company involved. Others called for complaints to be filed with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), state authorities, and police.

One user suggested that complaints to the RBI Ombudsman could be effective. Another advised residents to lodge a complaint at the nearest police station. In response to comments, local police were tagged online and asked to take action.

Some users claimed that agents should not enter homes without proper legal authority. Others argued that recovery should follow a legal process and remain non-violent.

There were also strong reactions from both sides. While many criticised the recovery behaviour, some users blamed borrowers and said EMIs should be paid on time to avoid such visits.

Recovery rules and professional conduct

Under standard financial practices, recovery agents are expected to:

Carry proper identification

Show authorisation documents when requested

Avoid threats, abuse, or public disturbance

Follow RBI and NBFC guidelines

RBI guidelines state that recovery must not involve intimidation or harassment. Entering homes in a threatening manner or creating public scenes is not allowed.

The incident has highlighted the importance of clear training, monitoring, and responsible conduct by financial companies and their representatives.

Broader discussion on social media

The viral post has also sparked wider debate about:

How recovery visits should be handled

Rights of residents inside housing societies

Balance between debt recovery and dignity

Legal steps available to both sides

Some users called for stricter rules and better enforcement. Others suggested that disputes should be handled through courts rather than confrontations in residential areas.

The Badlapur loan recovery viral video has started an important public discussion about recovery practices and resident safety. While the full facts of the case depend on official verification, the incident has raised questions about identification, authorisation and professional behaviour during loan recovery visits. Authorities may review the matter if formal complaints are filed. The focus now remains on ensuring safety, legal compliance and respectful conduct in such situations.

The death of 31-year-old Twisha Sharma in Bhopal has taken a new turn after her mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, claimed in a bail application that Twisha was addicted to narcotic substances and suffered from emotional distress and mood swings. The remarks come amid serious allegations made by Twisha's family, who have accused her husband and in-laws of harassment, murder and influencing the police investigation because of Giribala Singh’s former position in the judiciary.

Twisha Sharma was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12. She was pregnant at the time of her death. Originally from Noida, she had reportedly sent distress messages to a close friend shortly before the incident. The case has now become the focus of public attention, with both families making conflicting claims while a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by Madhya Pradesh Police continues its probe.

Family protests outside Chief Minister’s residence

Twisha’s father and other family members staged a sit-in protest outside the residence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday.

The family demanded justice and accused the husband and in-laws of causing Twisha’s death through mental and physical abuse.

They also questioned the fairness of the investigation and alleged that Giribala Singh’s background as a retired district court judge could influence proceedings in the case.

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Mojo Story (@themojostory)

    View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Kunal Yadav (@kunalyadav29_)

Twisha’s relatives have demanded a court-monitored investigation and a second post-mortem examination. They also alleged that injury marks were found on Twisha’s body and claimed evidence may have been destroyed.

What Giribala Singh said in her bail plea

In the bail application filed on Monday, Giribala Singh presented the family’s defence before the court.

According to the plea, Twisha died by suicide around 10 pm on May 12 by hanging herself from iron rods on the terrace of the family’s house in Bhopal.

The application stated that Twisha married Samarth Singh, son of Giribala Singh, on December 9, 2025. The marriage was reportedly arranged through a matrimonial website and was held in Delhi.

After the wedding, Twisha moved from Noida to Bhopal to live with her husband’s family.

Claims about Twisha’s behaviour after marriage

The bail plea said Twisha had worked as a film actress and model before marriage and had appeared in Telugu and other regional films as well as advertisements.

It also stated that she was employed with a private company in Delhi and continued working from home after moving to Bhopal.

According to Giribala Singh’s application, the family began noticing behaviour that made them suspect substance abuse soon after Twisha started living with them, reported India Today.

The plea claimed Twisha visited her parents' home and other places five times between December 2025 and May 2026.

During this period, the family allegedly observed trembling hands, irritability and sudden mood swings. Giribala Singh claimed these symptoms appeared when Twisha could not consume drugs.

The application further stated that when the matter was discussed with Twisha's father, he allegedly admitted that she consumed such substances.

However, Twisha’s family has not publicly responded in detail to these specific allegations so far.

Claims linked to pregnancy and emotional distress

The bail application also linked changes in Twisha’s behaviour to her pregnancy.

According to the plea, Twisha learnt about her pregnancy during a hospital visit in Bhopal on April 17.

Giribala Singh claimed Twisha appeared deeply distressed after learning she was pregnant and that her behaviour changed significantly.

The plea stated that after returning home from the hospital, Twisha packed her belongings and told the family she wanted to return to Noida because she could no longer continue as a homemaker.

According to the application, she left Bhopal the same day and travelled to Delhi by air on April 18.

The defence also raised questions about her movements after landing in Delhi, alleging that she did not go directly home and did not explain the delay before reaching her residence.

The bail plea cited this detail while referring to her mental condition and state of mind before her death.

Serious allegations from Twisha’s family

Twisha’s relatives have strongly rejected the claims made by the husband’s family and continue to allege harassment and foul play.

According to the family, Twisha was under pressure after marriage regarding her job and pregnancy.

They have also alleged prolonged emotional and physical abuse by her husband and in-laws.

Family members claimed there were suspicious injury marks on Twisha’s body and alleged that evidence connected to the case may have been tampered with or destroyed.

These allegations are now part of the ongoing police investigation.

SIT investigation continues

Madhya Pradesh Police formed a Special Investigation Team to examine the circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death and the allegations made by both sides.

Investigators are expected to examine medical reports, digital evidence, witness statements and forensic findings as part of the probe.

While Giribala Singh has now officially placed her defence before the court through the bail plea, the investigation remains active and no final conclusion has yet been reached by police.

The legal proceedings involving Twisha’s husband and in-laws are likely to continue as investigators study the claims and counterclaims made by both families.

The case has drawn widespread public attention because of the serious allegations, Twisha’s pregnancy and the involvement of a retired judge’s family.

(With inputs from agencies)

A shocking case of alleged torture and public humiliation has come to light from Rajasthan’s Ajmer district, where a 21-year-old man was allegedly abducted, beaten and forced to drink urine over a marriage-related dispute. Police have arrested nine people, including a woman, in connection with the incident.

The incident took place on Saturday in Gagwana village under the Gegal police station area. A video of the alleged assault later surfaced on social media, causing outrage among local residents and leading to protests by the victim’s family. On Saturday morning at around 9 am, Jeetu was travelling on his motorcycle when a group of around 20 to 25 people allegedly stopped him on the way and started beating him.

His family alleged that the attackers forcibly pushed him into a vehicle and took him to Beer village, where he was held captive and assaulted.

Police said the accused allegedly tortured him and publicly humiliated him during the incident.

Allegations of inhuman treatment

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly forced Jeetu to wear a garland made of shoes and slippers. He was also allegedly forced to drink urine.

A video related to the incident later spread widely on social media platforms, bringing the matter into public attention and triggering anger in the area.

The incident has shocked many people because of the serious allegations of humiliation and violence.

Marriage dispute said to be behind attack

Police said the attack was allegedly connected to a dispute involving Jeetu’s marriage.

According to officials, a woman from Beer village had earlier been married to another man. That marriage later ended in divorce, after which she started living at her parents' home.

About five months ago, the woman married Jeetu.

However, the woman’s former in-laws allegedly objected to the second marriage. They reportedly claimed that the matter had not been settled according to community customs and traditions.

The victim’s family alleged that this anger and rivalry led to the attack on Jeetu.

Family protests outside police station

After learning about the incident, Jeetu’s family and relatives reached Gegal police station and staged a protest. They accused the police of delaying action against the accused.

The protest created tension in the area, following which Rural Circle Officer Ramchandra Chaudhary reached the police station and spoke with the family members.

Officials assured the family that strict action would be taken and teams were immediately formed to search for the accused.

Police later rescued Jeetu from the accused persons.

Nine arrested, search for others continues

Ajmer Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agarwala said police registered a case on Saturday evening after the complaint was filed.

He confirmed that nine accused, including a woman, have been arrested so far in connection with the case. Police also seized the vehicles allegedly used during the kidnapping and assault.

Officials said efforts are continuing to arrest the remaining accused who are currently absconding.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are examining all evidence, including the viral video.

The circulation of the video on social media has led to widespread anger and discussions about law and order and social violence linked to personal disputes.

Many local residents demanded strict punishment for those involved in the alleged assault and humiliation of the young man.

(With inputs from agencies)

A contractor from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, has allegedly lost ₹1.27 lakh after being cheated in an online scam linked to a fake Facebook profile. Police said the fraud started when the man accepted a friend request from an account claiming to belong to a woman from London.

The victim has been identified as Kamalkant Yadav, 28, who lives in the Jhansi Road area of Gwalior. According to the complaint, he connected with a profile named 'Lucy Charles' on 24 April, reported India Today.

Conversation moved to WhatsApp

Police said the woman gradually built trust and later shifted the chat to WhatsApp. On WhatsApp, she allegedly used the name 'Dr Patricia R Medicine'.

During the chats, she claimed she was a resident of London and planned to visit India soon. She also said she would bring 95,000 British pounds with her. This amount was described as a large sum, and she claimed she needed help converting it into Indian currency.

The contractor believed he could earn a commission from the currency exchange. Because of this, he continued talking to her.

Airport call and demand for fees

On 27 April, Yadav received another call from a woman who introduced herself as an employee at Mumbai airport. She told him that foreign currency had arrived in his name and needed to be cleared.

She said he had to pay registration charges before the money could be released. Later, she demanded additional payments under different names such as processing fees and clearance charges.

Police said the fraudsters used repeated requests to pressure him into sending money.

Money transferred in stages

Yadav first sent ₹38,500 as registration fees. After that, he transferred another ₹88,600 through multiple transactions. In total, he allegedly paid around ₹1.27 lakh to the scammers.

The accused later asked for an additional ₹70,000. At this stage, the contractor became suspicious and realised something was wrong.

Soon after understanding that he had been cheated, he contacted the cybercrime helpline number 1930 to report the case.

Police action and investigation

Following the complaint, Madhya Pradesh Police registered an e-zero FIR against unknown persons under sections related to cheating and the Information Technology Act.

Jhansi Road police station in-charge Shakti Singh Yadav confirmed that an investigation has started. He said the case involves a gang that creates fake social media identities to trap victims.

Police believe the group often promises currency exchange deals or expensive gifts to attract people. Once the victim shows interest, they demand different types of fees and collect money in stages.

Officials are now checking the bank accounts where the money was transferred. They are trying to trace the suspects and recover the funds.

Warning to the public

Police have advised people to be careful when dealing with strangers online. They warned that offers involving foreign currency, large gifts, or quick profit are often used in scams.

They also reminded citizens to verify identities and avoid sending money to unknown people. The investigation is continuing, and further details will be shared as the case develops.

At first, he moved around the centre calmly, as if checking the area. He waited near the counter for some time.

Suddenly, he walked towards the grill window where the operator, Javed Ali, was sitting. Without warning, he pulled out a pistol and pointed it at him.

The accused demanded money. He asked for ₹10,000 and said, “Give me cash, I have taken a lot of debt.

He also repeated that he was under financial pressure, according to a report by India Today.

Even though he was threatening with a weapon, his tone was not only aggressive. At times, he sounded like he was pleading.

Operator stays calm and raises alarm

Instead of reacting with panic, Javed Ali stayed calm. He spoke to the man and tried to delay the situation. This helped prevent immediate violence.

During the conversation, Javed Ali raised an alarm. The sound changed everything.

Realising that people might come, the accused quickly turned and ran out of the CSC.

The delay gave the operator enough time to alert others.

Chase through narrow lanes

Javed Ali did not stay inside. He followed the fleeing man and shouted for help.

Local residents heard the noise and joined the chase. The narrow streets of Kazi Sarai became the scene of a sudden pursuit.

Within a short time, the accused was surrounded by people.

Locals overpowered him, beat him, and took away the pistol from his hand. Shockingly, he works as a private school teacher.

During questioning, he reportedly told police that he was facing heavy financial problems. He said he had taken large loans and had to pay ₹25,000 every month as instalments.

However, his salary from the school was only ₹13,000 per month. Because of this gap, he said he felt pressured and decided to attempt the robbery.

Authorities believe financial stress may have played a major role, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Legal action taken

Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act at Baragaon police station.

The accused was formally taken into custody on 10 May at around 1 am after completing necessary procedures. Police are now investigating:

The source of the illegal weapon

Whether he planned similar crimes before

If anyone else was involved

Further inquiry is continuing.

Local residents said they acted quickly to stop the suspect.

A 17‑year‑old Class 12 student was found dead at her home in Khoh village on Wednesday, leaving behind a two‑page suicide note that has become central to the police investigation. The note detailed her feelings toward a youth she admired, while also expressing frustration at being misunderstood and harassed.

The victim’s family discovered her body hanging in her room when they returned home around 1:30 pm. Her father, who runs a ration shop, immediately informed the police. Her mother is a private school teacher, and she is survived by an elder brother. The family, originally from Rohtas district in Bihar, has accused the youth mentioned in the note of harassing their daughter.

The suicide note contained repeated apologies, 17 in total - and described how she felt constantly questioned and looked down upon. She clarified that she never wished harm to the youth but was troubled by his doubts about her genuine feelings. The note also recounted an incident at her tuition class where she was allegedly harassed and abused by a friend.

Police Recover Chats and Probe Allegations

Addressing the note to the youth, she referenced a birthday incident that left her feeling worse, though details remain unclear. Police have retrieved chats between the boy and his friends regarding the victim, adding them to the investigation.

The father has publicly accused the youth of harassment, while police are examining all facts before drawing conclusions. Investigators are considering the possibility of emotional distress caused by suspected relationship issues, peer pressure, and alleged abuse at tuition classes.

The note’s repeated apologies and emphasis on being misunderstood highlight the psychological strain she endured. Her words suggest she wanted to protect her dignity and avoid disrespect from others, but ultimately felt trapped.

An Ahmedabad family is believed to have been held hostage abroad after travelling on the promise of reaching London, according to a police complaint, as reported by Gujarat Samachar. The case has triggered an investigation by city police. The complaint was filed after Shreya Yamekar informed authorities that she had lost contact with her parents and two brothers. The family had allegedly left India through an unauthorised immigration network that promised overseas work and settlement in the United Kingdom.

Details Of The Family

The missing members have been identified as:

Kirankumar Srinivas Yamekar (father)

Vaishaliben Kirankumar Yamekar (mother)

Rudra Kirankumar Yamekar (elder brother)

Abhishek Kirankumar Yamekar (younger brother)

According to the complaint, the family wanted to move abroad to earn money and find better jobs. Around two months ago, Vaishaliben allegedly told relatives that she had contacted a travel agent through Facebook.

Alleged Agent And Travel Promise

The agent was identified as Pritesh Joshi, who reportedly ran an office in Chandkheda, Ahmedabad. He allegedly promised to arrange visas, jobs, and all required documents so the four family members could settle in London, UK.

Investigators believe the family agreed to travel through this network. Police sources said the group may have used several international transit points as part of an illegal route often described as a “donkey route”. Such routes are commonly linked with human trafficking and illegal migration cases.

— Gujarat First (@GujaratFirst) May 10, 2026

Alleged Kidnapping And Ransom Call

As per the complaint filed on May 4, Shreya’s husband received a WhatsApp voice call from an unknown number. The caller allegedly identified himself as “Khan Baba”.

In the recorded message, the caller claimed he had kidnapped the family. He allegedly said the agent had “sold” them to him and demanded payment before allowing them to move forward.

The caller also allegedly warned that if anyone informed the police, the family would be killed. After this call, Shreya reportedly received repeated voice messages, photographs of her brothers, and further demands for money from different unknown numbers.

Ransom Demands And Audio Evidence

Sources said the kidnappers initially demanded ₹1 crore. The amount was later allegedly reduced to ₹30 lakh. Investigators are also examining audio clips in which family members can allegedly be heard asking for help and urging relatives to arrange money for their release.

Shreya has stated that she has not been able to contact her parents or brothers since the messages began.

The Ahmedabad Crime Branch and Gomtipur police have started a detailed investigation. Officers are checking digital evidence, including WhatsApp messages, voice recordings, and photographs sent to the complainant.

Police teams are trying to trace the family’s travel route and confirm their current location. They are also working to identify the agents and other people allegedly involved in the network.

Officials said the case appears similar to previous illegal immigration and trafficking cases. In such cases, families travelling through unauthorised routes were allegedly trapped, extorted, or detained by organised groups operating across countries.

At this stage, there is no official confirmation about the country where the family is being held.

Authorities have said the investigation is active, and further action will depend on findings from digital analysis and international coordination

A SIT has been formed to investigate the death of Twisha Sharma, who was found hanging at her MP home days after alleged dowry harassment and assault. Her husband, lawyer Samarth Singh, and father-in-law have been booked under dowry death laws.

The death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma in Bhopal has sparked shock, anger and growing demands for a deeper investigation. Twisha was found hanging at her marital home in the Katara Hills area on the night of May 12. What first appeared to be a suicide case has now turned into a major investigation involving allegations of dowry harassment, physical assault, forced abortion and destruction of evidence.

The case has attracted national attention because Twisha’s husband is a lawyer and both his parents are retired judges. Her family has alleged that local police may come under pressure due to the influence of the accused family. They are now demanding either a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe or a Special Investigation Team (SIT) from outside Madhya Pradesh.

On Saturday, police formed a six-member SIT to investigate the allegations.

Also Read: What Is Ebola And Why Has WHO Declared A Global Health Emergency?

SIT formed to investigate the case

According to officials, the SIT is being led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajnish Kashyap. The team also includes a woman police officer.

Police said the SIT will investigate several serious allegations, including:

Dowry harassment

Physical assault

Mental torture

Alleged destruction of evidence after death

Twisha’s husband, lawyer Samarth Singh, along with his father and retired judge Giribala Singh, have been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions related to dowry death and dowry harassment.

Police teams have been deployed to trace Samarth Singh, who is currently absconding.

Officials said Samarth and his mother took Twisha to a hospital on Tuesday night, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Police were informed by hospital authorities around 11 pm.

Meanwhile, a Bhopal court granted anticipatory bail to retired judge Giribala Singh on Friday. The hearing on Samarth Singh’s anticipatory bail plea is scheduled for May 18.

According to police, Twisha met Samarth Singh through a dating app in 2024. The two later got married in December 2025.

A Times Now report described Twisha as a former Miss Pune contestant. Her family said she entered the marriage with many dreams and expectations.

However, within just five months of marriage, her life ended under tragic and suspicious circumstances.

Her relatives from Noida have accused the in-laws of murder and have rejected claims that it was a simple suicide case.

One of the biggest claims made by Twisha's family relates to her pregnancy.

According to reports citing the short post-mortem findings, Twisha was around two months pregnant. The report allegedly revealed that she had undergone a Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP), or abortion, around a week before her death.

Her family claims the abortion was forced and carried out against her wishes after pressure and harassment from her husband and in-laws.

Twisha’s brother, Major Harshit Sharma of the Indian Army, alleged that although the pregnancy was initially unplanned, Twisha later wanted to continue it.

The family claims this issue became a major source of tension inside the house.

Allegations of character attacks and mental torture

Twisha’s brother has also alleged that her husband and mother-in-law questioned her character after she became pregnant.

According to the allegations, Samarth Singh reportedly taunted Twisha by saying the child was not his.

The family believes these repeated comments caused severe mental stress and emotional breakdown.

The allegations have deeply disturbed many people online, especially because Twisha had reportedly remained in regular contact with her family and had shared details of her struggles.

At present, police have not officially confirmed these claims, and the SIT investigation is expected to examine all allegations carefully.

Another major point being discussed is the mention of multiple ante-mortem injuries in the short post-mortem report.

While the immediate cause of death was reportedly stated as hanging, the report also allegedly found several injuries on Twisha’s body, especially on her hands and ears.

Ante-mortem injuries mean injuries suffered before death.

Her family claims these marks suggest she was physically assaulted before her death.

They have also alleged that attempts may have been made to destroy evidence after the incident.

Police said these angles will be investigated thoroughly by the SIT.

Also Read: Why Is Acid Attack Survivor Laxmi Agarwal's Viral 'Government Office' Photo Facing Backlash?

Claims of dowry pressure and financial demands

Twisha’s relatives also alleged that she faced dowry-related pressure after marriage.

According to the family, Twisha had left her job to live with her husband in Bhopal. After quitting her job, she was allegedly insulted and called “useless” inside the house.

The family further alleged that pressure was being created on Twisha to transfer investments and shares worth around Rs 20 lakh, which had reportedly been given to her by her father.

These claims form an important part of the dowry harassment case now under investigation.

One of the most emotional details shared by the family concerns Twisha’s last phone call.

According to her relatives, she spoke to her mother and brother just around 10 minutes before the incident.

During the call, she was reportedly crying and said, “I cannot tolerate this anymore.”

Her family said she wanted to leave Bhopal and return to Noida. They also claimed she had already booked a railway ticket.

Shortly after the call, the family allegedly received another phone call informing them that Twisha had hanged herself.

Her relatives believe the timing of the events raises serious questions.

Heart Breaking : Pregnant Newlywed Found Hanging – Family Alleges Murder, Demands FIR Against Husband and In-LawsBhopal, May 15, 2026: In a shocking incident, 31-year-old Twisha Sharma, who was pregnant, was found hanging in her matrimonial home at Katara Hills on the night… pic.twitter.com/QBxUfqKmsM

— Ramesh Tiwari (@rameshofficial0) May 15, 2026

Family demands CBI or outside-state probe

Twisha’s family has openly expressed concerns about the fairness of the investigation.

Because the accused family includes a retired judge and a lawyer, the family fears local influence may affect the probe.

This concern increased after the retired judge received anticipatory bail within 24 hours.

As a result, Twisha’s family has refused to accept the body and is demanding a fresh post-mortem examination at Delhi AIIMS.

They are also seeking either a CBI inquiry or an SIT from outside Madhya Pradesh.

Police officials have said the investigation is still ongoing and no final conclusion has been reached yet. The SIT will examine:

Medical records

Phone records

CCTV footage

Post-mortem findings

Statements from family members

Financial allegations

Claims of harassment and assault

Investigators are also trying to locate Samarth Singh for questioning. Officials said every allegation made by the family will be checked carefully.

Case triggers wider discussion online

The case has triggered widespread debate on social media, with many people demanding strict action if the allegations are proven true.

Twisha was a truly lovely young woman. One attacker carrying a machete-like weapon snatched her gold chain after she slipped and fell on the road.

A shocking daylight chain-snatching incident from Punjab has sparked fear and anger online after CCTV footage showed a woman being chased and attacked while walking with her child in Jalandhar's Maksuda area.

According to viral social media posts, two bike-borne men targeted the woman in broad daylight. The incident reportedly took place barely 600 metres from the Maksuda police station.

SHOCKING | Woman carrying child attacked by chain snatchers in broad daylight, leaving both injured. One of the attackers can be seen chasing her through a narrow lane with a machete-like weapon in his hand, while another suspect waits nearby on a motorcycle.

As the woman screams for help and runs to protect herself and the child, she suddenly slips and falls on the road. The child also falls during the chaos.

The attacker then catches up with her and appears to snatch a gold chain from her neck while she continues screaming.

Soon after the attack, several local residents, mostly men, can be seen running towards the woman after hearing her cries.

Some people attempted to chase the accused as they fled from the area. The video also shows a few men later hopping onto a bike, seemingly trying to follow the suspects.

According to social media claims, the attackers also fell and got injured during the snatching attempt but still managed to escape from the spot.

No official police statement detailing arrests or identification of the accused had emerged at the time the video continued circulating online.

The CCTV clip spread rapidly across X and other social media platforms, drawing strong reactions from users.

Many users expressed concern over women’s safety and rising street crime.

One user wrote that chain snatchers were becoming “way too bold” and said attacking women in broad daylight was “disgusting”. One comment said such incidents had become the “new normal” in Punjab.

Some users linked the crime to rising gold prices, claiming expensive jewellery may be encouraging thefts.

Another user suggested authorities should advise women not to wear gold ornaments in public places because of increasing snatching cases.

However, a few comments online also contained political and regional remarks, including criticism directed at political leaders and migrant communities.

Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia also shared the viral video on X and strongly criticised the Punjab government over law and order.

In his post, Majithia said the incident happened just 600 metres away from the police station and questioned how citizens could feel safe under such conditions.

He wrote that the woman was robbed in front of her small children while she screamed and tried to protect them.

Daylight snatching in Jalandhar’s Maksuda area, just 600 metres away from the police station — and Punjab is being told law and order is under control!

An auto-rickshaw driver in Adoor, Kerala, has been taken into custody for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a 28-year-old woman, police confirmed on Saturday. The accused, identified as Vinod, a native of Adoor, was arrested after weeks of evading authorities.

According to investigators, the woman, who lived separately from her husband near Vinod’s residence, frequently hired his auto-rickshaw for travel. Police alleged that in February this year, Vinod offered her juice laced with intoxicants before sexually assaulting her.

Officials further stated that Vinod recorded videos of the victim and repeatedly threatened her with exposure on social media. The harassment reportedly continued for months, with Vinod using the recordings to intimidate her.

Victim’s Complaint Intensified Probe

The situation escalated when Vinod allegedly assaulted the woman during an altercation. Following this incident, she approached the police and lodged a formal complaint last month.

Police revealed that the victim had initially confided in her husband after enduring repeated threats. However, delays in arresting Vinod prompted her to approach the district police chief directly. This intervention led to an intensified investigation and eventual arrest on Friday night.

Investigation And Court Proceedings

Authorities at Adoor police station confirmed that Vinod is currently being interrogated. Efforts are underway to recover digital evidence linked to the case, including the alleged videos used to threaten the victim.

Police added that Vinod will be produced before a court as part of remand proceedings. The arrest has drawn attention to the handling of sexual assault cases and the importance of swift police action in protecting victims.

He was carrying a pistol. He walked towards Chetan, fired shots, and then ran away in the same direction he had come from.

The video also shows women and young men nearby running for safety when the firing started.

After the attacker left, local residents rushed to help Chetan. His condition remains critical.

After news of the shooting spread, many of his supporters and acquaintances gathered at the trauma centre. They demanded immediate arrest of the attacker.

The crowd became loud and created a disturbance. They questioned whether the accused was truly in custody.

The DCP said clearly that Vaibhav was in custody. However, some people continued to shout and did not accept the statement.

After the argument, the DCP left without giving a full press statement.

A retired Tata Steel employee was detained on Monday after allegedly killing his wife, pregnant daughter, and son inside their Agrico-based quarter. Police identified the accused as 61-year-old Ravinder Prasad Singh, who had retired from service earlier this year.

According to investigators, Ravinder Singh first attacked his wife Sarita, 55, in the kitchen while she was engaged in household chores. He then moved to the bedrooms, where his daughter Supriya, 31, and son Ravishek Kumar Singh, 30, were asleep. Supriya, who had married in November 2025, was three months pregnant. Ravishek worked with a private company.

Police Investigation Underway

Assistant Superintendent of Police Rishabh Trivedi said Singh himself dialed 100 to report the incident. When officers arrived, they found him seated on the floor, surrounded by the blood-soaked bodies. The accused was taken into custody for interrogation.

Authorities confirmed that Singh has a history of conflict with his family since his retirement in February. East Singhbhum SSP Piyush Pandey stated that the exact cause of the domestic dispute and the trigger behind the killings are being investigated.

Neighbours told police they had attempted to enter the house after receiving an alert from Ravinder Singh’s younger daughter, who lives in Delhi. However, Singh drove them away. The bodies were later sent to MGMMCH for post-mortem, while forensic teams examined the crime scene.

During questioning, Ravinder Singh reportedly claimed his mental condition was not sound and asked to be left alone. Police are reviewing his medical history to determine whether mental illness played a role in the crime.

A shocking case from Rajasthan's Jodhpur district has sparked anger and protests after two sisters died by suicide within two months, allegedly after years of sexual exploitation, blackmail and repeated threats by a group of men. The case has raised serious questions about police action, as the victims' family and members of the Rajput community have accused officials of failing to act despite repeated complaints and warnings.

NDTV reported that the younger sister, a married woman and mother of two children, died on Friday after allegedly consuming pesticide while protesting atop a water tank in Kherapa area of rural Jodhpur. Her elder sister had died by suicide on March 20 after allegedly facing years of abuse and blackmail. The deaths have led to major tension in the area, with protests outside Jodhpur’s MDM Hospital and demands for strict punishment for both the accused and police personnel accused of negligence.

Also Read: Reverse Migration Trend: Why Professionals Are Leaving Metro Cities For Peaceful Towns

Elder sister allegedly blackmailed for years

According to the younger sister’s police complaint filed on April 11, the elder sibling was first trapped by Mahipal, an operator of a local e-Mitra service centre. She alleged that he secretly recorded obscene videos of her sister and later used them to blackmail and sexually exploit her.

The complaint named eight accused, including Mahipal, Shivraj, Gopal, Vijaram, Dinesh, Manoj and Pukhraj. The younger sister alleged that the men gang-raped her elder sister over several years and repeatedly threatened her.

She also claimed that the accused extorted money from her sister for around four years by threatening to leak the videos. Unable to bear the alleged harassment, mental torture and repeated abuse, the elder sister died by suicide on March 20.

The younger sister told police that her family had been living in fear for years because of the threats and blackmail.

Younger sister said accused targeted her after first suicide

After the elder sister's death, the younger sibling alleged that the accused started targeting her as well. In her FIR, she claimed that the men threatened to release her sister's videos on social media if she refused to obey them. She alleged that she too was sexually assaulted and threatened several times.

The woman claimed that one accused assaulted her at hotels and isolated places, while another allegedly assaulted her at her residence.

According to the family, the accused openly threatened her even after the FIR was registered. They allegedly told her that police would not take action against them because they had protection.

The woman had also reportedly warned the police in writing that she could end her life if justice was not delivered.

Also Read: What Is Ebola And Why Has WHO Declared A Global Health Emergency?

FIR filed but family says no action taken

Police registered an FIR on April 11 based on the younger sister's complaint. However, the family alleged that no concrete action or arrests were made even after one month.

This alleged delay became a major reason for anger among villagers and members of the Rajput community.

On Friday morning, the younger sister climbed onto a water tank in her village to protest against the lack of police action. She demanded immediate arrests of the accused and justice for her elder sister.

Villagers informed police and district officials, following which senior officers reached the spot and tried to convince her to come down safely.

However, as police personnel began climbing the tank during the rescue attempt, the woman allegedly consumed pesticide.

She was first taken to a local hospital and later referred to Jodhpur for better treatment, but she died on the way.

Protests erupt outside hospital

The deaths of the two sisters triggered widespread protests in Jodhpur.

Members of the Rajput community gathered outside MDM Hospital, where the younger sister’s body was kept in the mortuary. Protesters initially refused to allow the post-mortem and staged a sit-in demonstration demanding immediate arrests and action against police officials accused of negligence.

After discussions with officials, the family later agreed to the post-mortem examination.

Hanuman Singh Khangta, president of the Marwar Rajput Society, strongly criticised the police and accused them of protecting the accused throughout the investigation.

He alleged that police inaction and failure to act on repeated warnings had cost the two sisters their lives.

The community has demanded an impartial investigation, immediate arrest of all accused and strict disciplinary action against police officers who allegedly ignored the complaints.

Also Read: Bengaluru Temple Theft Caught On CCTV As Thief Uses Trident To Break Hundi

Police respond to allegations

According to a report by the Times of India, Jodhpur Rural Superintendent of Police PD Nitya said that when the elder sister died in March, a case had been registered but it did not include rape allegations at that time.

The officer said that after the younger sister filed the April 11 FIR with gang-rape and blackmail allegations, a senior officer was assigned to investigate the matter.

SP Nitya added that the investigation was ongoing and that she herself is now personally monitoring the case.

Police have also assured that a departmental inquiry will be conducted into the allegations of negligence against officials handling the case.
