Thinking of buying a second-hand car? A new report, 'Gears of Growth 2025', shows most Indians are. But the big question remains: manual or automatic? We break down the price, mileage, and which one is the perfect fit for you.In India, everyone asks this question when buying a car: 'Manual gearbox or automatic?' Even with all the new tech and cheaper automatic options, most Indians still love their manual cars! A recent 'Gears of Growth 2025 Report' by Cars24 and Team-BHP shows that manual cars are still the king in the used car market.
The report breaks it down for the used car market: Manual cars make up a huge 72% of sales, while automatic cars are at just 28%. Basically, for every three manual cars sold, only one automatic finds a buyer! But there are some very interesting trends behind these numbers.

Petrol Mileage: Does Morning Fuel Fill Really Save Money? Here’s What Experts Say!
Here's how different people choose: Young buyers under 35 are leaning towards automatics. But folks over 45 still prefer manual cars. People between 35 and 45 are split down the middle. Women buyers show a much higher preference for automatics. In big metro cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai, traffic makes automatics a popular choice. But in non-metro cities and villages, manual is still the favourite.
There are three big reasons why manual cars rule the Indian market. First, they are cheaper to buy and maintain, and they give better mileage. Second, most Indians learn to drive in a manual car, so they stick to what they know. Third, manual cars have great resale value because everyone wants them. In smaller towns, cars like the Maruti Swift Dzire, Wagon R, and Hyundai i10 are super popular. In metros, automatic versions of the Maruti Baleno and Honda City sell more.

CNG Cars: Save Big On Fuel With These 7 Seaters For Families!

For anyone driving to work in cities like Bengaluru or Mumbai, pressing the clutch in bumper-to-bumper traffic is a real pain. People are choosing automatics simply for driving convenience. As more young people start buying cars, experts believe the 28% share for automatics is only going to go up.

A manual gearbox is simple and cheap to fix. But an automatic gearbox—whether it's an AMT, CVT, or Dual-Clutch—is very complex. If it breaks down, the repair cost can be shockingly high! Our advice: If you're buying a used automatic, make sure you get a proper inspection report and a warranty. Companies like Cars24, for example, offer a 300-point check and even a warranty on the gearbox.

If you drive daily in heavy city traffic, like in Bengaluru, an automatic is worth the extra money for the comfort it offers. But if you mostly drive on highways or live in a smaller town, and want low maintenance costs and great mileage, a manual car is the best choice for you, hands down.

Hyundai has announced it will hike car prices by up to 1% from September 2026. The company says rising input costs are the main reason for this.
If you were planning to buy a Hyundai, here's a small shocker. Hyundai Motor India has announced it will raise prices across all its models by up to 1% from September 2026. The company blames rising raw material and logistics costs for the hike. They also mentioned that global political and economic uncertainties have pushed up their expenses. Hyundai added that while they tried to absorb the costs, they are now forced to pass on a part of the burden to customers.

This new price hike will apply to all models, from the entry-level Grand i10 Nios to the premium Ioniq 5 electric SUV. Currently, Hyundai cars are priced between approximately ₹5.60 lakh and ₹55.70 lakh. The exact price increase in September will be decided based on each specific model and variant.

This is the third time Hyundai is increasing its car prices in 2026. The company first raised prices by about 0.6% on January 1. Following that, they announced another 1% hike in April, which became effective from June 1. That hike increased car prices by up to ₹12,800, depending on the model. Hyundai's business has faced several challenges this year. In the first quarter of FY 2026-27 (April-June), the company's exports saw a major drop. Tensions in the Middle East and a fire at the factory of its supplier, 'Mobis', temporarily hit production and impacted exports.

During the same period last fiscal year, Hyundai had exported 48,140 vehicles. However, in the first quarter of FY 2026-27, exports fell to 38,708 units, which is a drop of about 19.6%. Hyundai has stated that it is implementing the new price hike from September considering the rising raw material costs and the uncertainty in the global economic situation.

Honda unveiled the new CB500. Despite looking like a larger CB350, this bike has a 501cc engine, superior hardware, and a vintage style. Honda also updated the CB350 series with new colours.
Honda India has just unveiled its new CB500. It might look like a bigger version of the popular Honda CB350 H'ness, but there's a lot more to it. The bike not only has a bigger engine but also comes with some premium hardware and a unique design. This is a fantastic option for riders wanting to upgrade from the 350cc segment. Additionally, the company has also updated its existing CB350 range with new colours. The CB500's design gives off a proper classic vibe. It features a round LED headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a long, single-piece seat for a very attractive look. The bike on display has a full black fuel tank with retro-style yellow stripes, which looks quite striking. A brushed aluminium finish on the engine casing and plenty of chrome on the exhaust add a premium touch. Honda will offer the bike in three variants: Alloy, Spoke Tubeless, and Spoke with Tubeless Graphics. The new CB500 runs on a 501cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine produces 28.1PS of power and 43.3Nm of torque. While the power figures might not seem very high for a 500cc bike, its strong torque output makes it a great choice for daily city rides and comfortable highway cruising. The bike uses conventional telescopic forks with fork gaiters at the front. At the back, it has gas-charged twin shock absorbers. The bike also features tubeless cross-spoke wheels. You can expect a 19-inch wheel at the front and an 18-inch wheel at the rear. Its features include a minimalist analog speedometer with a small digital inset, dual-channel ABS, and a switchable traction control system.Along with the new CB500, Honda has given its 350cc roadster family—the CB350, CB350RS, and CB350C—a new update. These bikes now feature new graphics and dark styling elements, giving them a more modern look. However, this is just a cosmetic upgrade. There are no mechanical changes to the engines or hardware of the three models. The Honda CB500 looks like a bigger and more powerful version of the popular CB350. Its design is familiar, but the larger engine, bigger wheels, gas-charged rear suspension, and premium finishes really boost its powerful appeal. This bike is aimed at riders who want to upgrade from the CB350 to a more premium and powerful motorcycle.

India's top carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is set to hike prices on its cars by up to ₹30,000 starting this August. The company says rising raw material costs and higher production expenses have made this price rise unavoidable.

New Delhi (Jul 21): If you're planning to buy a Maruti Suzuki car, you might want to hurry up. The country's biggest carmaker has just given its customers a major shock, announcing that its cars will get more expensive from August. Prices are set to go up by as much as ₹30,000.

The company explained that this decision was unavoidable. For the last few months, they tried to absorb the rising production costs to avoid burdening customers. However, with the continuous increase in the prices of raw materials like steel, aluminium, and precious metals, along with higher logistics and operational expenses, selling cars at the old rates is no longer possible. This has made the price hike necessary, the company clarified.

Maruti Suzuki has also made it clear that the price increase won't be the same for all models. The hike will vary depending on the specific car and its variant. While some models will see a smaller increase, others could get dearer by up to ₹30,000. This is a major price revision by the company in 2026.

Company Had Hinted at This Earlier

This news doesn't come as a complete surprise. The company had dropped hints about this before. In May 2026, it had mentioned its continuous efforts to reduce production costs. Even earlier, in February 2026, it had indicated that it was reviewing car prices due to the rising cost of essential raw materials like gold and silver.

The announcement also made a splash in the stock market. On Tuesday afternoon, Maruti's shares on the BSE jumped by ₹122.55, trading at ₹13,630.

So, if you have your eye on a new Maruti car, booking it before August could save you a good amount of money. After that, you'll have to pay the new, higher price. This price hike will directly impact a huge number of customers, as it applies to some of India's most popular cars like the Alto K10, Wagon R, Swift, Baleno, Brezza, Fronx, Dzire, Ertiga, and Grand Vitara.

There's a common belief among drivers in India: fill your tank in the morning and get more mileage. But is this a real hack or just a popular myth? We dig deep to find out the real story.
Many drivers make a beeline for the petrol pump first thing in the morning. The common thinking is that cool morning air makes petrol denser, so you get more fuel for your money and better mileage. This idea is popular everywhere, from small towns to big cities in Tamil Nadu. But is there any science behind this, or is it just a rumour? Let's find out the truth that most people don't know.

It's a basic science fact: cooler liquids are denser than warmer ones. Since petrol is a liquid, it should technically be denser in the cool morning hours. While this is a scientifically proven fact, there's a catch. Modern petrol bunks store their fuel in huge underground tanks. These tanks act like insulators, protecting the petrol from the day's heat and the night's cold. Because of this, the petrol's temperature hardly changes throughout the day.

CNG Cars: Save Big On Fuel With These 7 Seaters For Families!

As we said, the underground tanks keep the petrol's temperature stable. So, the idea that you get a lot more fuel because of higher density in the morning gives you only a tiny advantage. According to one study, this temperature difference changes your mileage by a very small fraction of a percent. For a regular driver, this offers no real-world benefit. So, scientific proof shows the belief that a morning fill-up boosts mileage is practically useless.

Number Plates: The 130 Year Old Story Of How They Stopped Hit And Run drivers!

Your vehicle's mileage has nothing to do with when you fill petrol. It actually depends on several other things. First, always maintain the correct tyre pressure. Second, get your vehicle serviced regularly to keep the engine running smoothly. Avoid sudden braking and drive at a steady, smooth pace to increase mileage. Don't leave your engine running at long signals. Using the right gear, road conditions, your vehicle's age, and general upkeep all have a huge impact on mileage. You can get much better mileage by focusing on these things.

The so-called 'density advantage' of filling petrol in the morning is almost zero at modern petrol pumps. So, you really don't need to worry about filling your tank only at a specific time. Just fill it up whenever it's convenient for you. If you really want to improve your mileage, focus on the real stuff: make sure your tyres have the right air pressure, service your vehicle on time, and drive smoothly. These practical tips will give you more kilometres for every rupee you spend on petrol.

The king of Indian streets, the Bajaj Pulsar 150, is back in a brand new avatar. Bajaj has officially launched its popular 2026 Pulsar 150, with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹1,15,233.

This new update isn't just about looks; the bike has received significant technical upgrades too. Here’s a full breakdown of what’s new.

1. Modern Design

The new Pulsar 150 looks much sharper and sportier than before.

LED Headlamp: For the first time, it gets a very attractive LED headlamp unit.

Sporty Tank: The fuel tank and its extensions have been designed to look more aggressive.

However, Bajaj has kept the Pulsar's iconic design intact, so you can still recognize it as a Pulsar from a distance.

2. Powerful Engine & New Chassis

Engine: The bike has a 150cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 13.6bhp of power and 14.2Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

Monoshock Suspension: The old model had two shock absorbers. But the new model gets a monoshock setup, which greatly improves the bike's handling.

New Frame: The bike also gets a new frame, which makes the riding experience much better.

3. Hi-Tech Features

This time, Bajaj has given a lot of importance to technology. The top-end variant of the bike comes with a TFT console. It includes features like Google Maps Mirroring, call/SMS alerts, music control, and even document storage.

For the first time in this segment, the bike offers three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Sport.

4. Safety

When it comes to safety, the bike comes with single-channel ABS as a standard feature. This prevents the bike from skidding during emergency braking.

In short, if you are looking for a stylish, budget-friendly 150cc bike with modern technology, the new 2026 Bajaj Pulsar 150 is an excellent choice.

Ferrari launches the Amalfi Spider in India with exclusive events in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi. The V8 2+ spider combines open-top thrills with everyday versatility.

Ferrari has marked a significant milestone in India with the regional launch of the Ferrari Amalfi Spider, presenting the V8 2+ spider across three major cities through exclusive gatherings that showcase the vehicle's engineering, performance and design philosophy.

The Italian marque's first regional launch in the country began last week in Mumbai, hosted by Navnit Motors, Ferrari's official distributor in the city. The event continued with a special function in Bengaluru on Friday, hosted by Select Cars, Ferrari's official distributor for Bengaluru and New Delhi. The Delhi gathering is scheduled for next week, completing the three-city showcase.

Designed for those seeking a dynamic driving experience without compromising comfort or style, the Ferrari Amalfi Spider combines outstanding performance with everyday versatility and the unique pleasure of open-top motoring.

The car exemplifies the Ferrari sporting lifestyle in an open-top configuration, blending performance, elegance, driving pleasure, ease of use and versatility. With the roof down, direct contact with the road and the sensations of open-air driving become integral to the experience, without compromising everyday usability or comfort.

The soft top opens in 13.5 seconds and can be operated on the move at speeds of up to 60 km/h. When folded, its compact packaging of just 220 mm thickness maximises luggage capacity, offering 255 litres with the roof closed and 172 litres with the roof open.

The design of the Ferrari Amalfi Spider was driven by the desire to preserve the proportions and volumes of the Ferrari Amalfi, retaining its elegant, flowing silhouette even with the roof open. The soft top adds a more expressive character through a wide range of personalisation options, with four colours in tailor-made fabric and two in technical fabric, including the new Tecnico Ottanio.

Ferrari has introduced the new Rosso Tramonto colour exclusively for the Amalfi Spider, an intense shade with subtle orange undertones that evoke the warm light of the setting sun along the Amalfi Coast. The distinctive weave of the technical fabric creates a shimmering effect that enhances the material's three-dimensionality.

The engine represents the latest evolution of the 3855-cc V8 twin-turbo from the F154 family, delivering a maximum output of 640 hp at 7,500 rpm, with a specific power output of 166 hp/l and a redline raised to 7,600 rpm.

The performance increase was achieved through advanced turbocharging management, enabling independent control of the rotational speed of the two turbochargers.

The eight-speed dual-clutch oil-bath transmission has been further optimised with a more powerful control unit and enhanced integration with the engine software, improving smoothness and speed of gear changes. The car sprints from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 320 km/h.

The cabin features a dual-cockpit layout with an evolved driver-car interface. Key elements include the steering wheel with physical buttons, the return of the iconic start button, the integrated central display, and controls designed for natural interaction even during the most dynamic driving. The 2+ configuration enhances practicality, with rear seats suitable for travelling with children or increasing load capacity.

An integrated wind deflector built into the rear bench backrest, operated at the touch of a button, improves comfort by reducing turbulence during open-top driving. The system has been calibrated with an opening angle of 101° and can be opened at speeds of up to 170 km/h.

The 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster provides all driving and vehicle dynamics information, while a 10.25-inch capacitive display allows access to main functions. An 8.8-inch passenger display offers a true co-driver experience, showing parameters such as G-forces and engine revs.

The launch reflects Ferrari's ambition to further strengthen its presence in India and deepen its connection with the country's passionate community of automotive enthusiasts. The company's extended seven-year maintenance programme is available with the Ferrari Amalfi Spider, covering all regular maintenance for the first seven years of the car's life.

Ferrari's unparalleled quality standards and focus on client service underpin this programme, which is available across the entire Ferrari range. The service is available in all markets worldwide and from all dealerships on the Official Dealership Network.

The Ferrari Amalfi Spider comes equipped as standard with tyres co-developed specifically for this application in collaboration with three partners: Pirelli P ZERO, Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport and Bridgestone Potenza Sport.

Reports suggest Royal Enfield is getting ready to launch the new Himalayan 440 in India, to strengthen its adventure motorcycle lineup. While the company hasn't made any official announcement, the new model is expected to go on sale by September 2026. This bike will be developed on the current Scram 440 platform and will be positioned between the Scram 440 and the Himalayan 450.

It will come with a 443cc engine

The new Himalayan 440 will likely use the same 443cc single-cylinder, air-oil cooled engine found in the Scram 440. This engine, paired with a six-speed gearbox, produces 25.4 PS of power and 34 Nm of torque. It will probably be tuned to deliver strong low-end torque, making it suitable for city rides, highway touring, and some light off-roading.

Setup suitable for off-roading

For suspension, we can expect a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike will have disc brakes on both wheels for stopping power. For safety, dual-channel ABS will be standard, and reports suggest it will also get a switchable rear ABS for off-road use. The company is aiming for better stability on bad roads and off-road tracks by using a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel.

Just like the modern features available on the Himalayan 450, the higher variants of the new Himalayan 440 might also get a TFT instrument cluster, turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone connectivity, and map mirroring. However, it's also believed that it will have fewer electronic aids compared to the Himalayan 450.

SUV Showdown: Get Ready for the All-New Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet in 2027!

What is the expected price?

Reports suggest the new Himalayan 440 could have an ex-showroom price of around ₹2.5 lakh. This would make it a great alternative for those who want an adventure bike but find the Himalayan 450 a bit too expensive. Royal Enfield is mainly targeting riders who prefer a traditional mechanical setup and solid low-end performance.

Himalayan 750 is also in the works

Meanwhile, Royal Enfield is also continuing to test a more powerful Himalayan 750 model. This bike is expected to make its global debut at the EICMA 2026 motor show. Reports say this model will come with a new 750cc parallel-twin air-oil cooled engine, producing around 55 PS of power and 60 Nm of torque. It's also expected to pack modern features like cruise control, multiple riding modes, a TFT display, and smartphone connectivity. However, Royal Enfield has not yet officially confirmed the launch dates, prices, or features for either the Himalayan 440 or the Himalayan 750.

Hyundai: Affordable Electric-Hybrid Cars May Soon Change the Way India Drives!

Hyundai is all set to shake up the Indian car market. The company is preparing to launch hybrid and electric cars at prices that the common person can afford.
Hyundai is now set to enter the hybrid car market. With this move, the company is getting ready to give tough competition to brands like Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. Since electric and hybrid cars are the future, Hyundai plans to introduce new models that are affordable for the average person. Tata Motors and Mahindra are also planning to launch hybrid cars, but Hyundai is looking to get ahead of the curve. Currently, Maruti is the leader in hybrid car sales.

Among Hyundai's electric cars, the HE1i EV will be the most affordable and low-cost option. Hyundai plans to launch this car in India by the end of December 2026. It will compete with cars like the Tata Nexon EV, Kia Cyros EV, and Tata Punch EV. The car will hit the market with a boxy design. It will offer a range of up to 400 kilometres on a single charge, with two battery pack options (42 kWh and 49 kWh). Packed with new technology, this car will be introduced at a budget price under the central government's EV scheme.

Tata Sierra EV: Range, Battery, All Key Details Leaked Before Launch!
The Hyundai Bayon will be the first hybrid car that Hyundai introduces in India. In terms of size, this car will be positioned between the Hyundai Venue and the Hyundai Creta, with a length of 4.2 meters. This car is being launched to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It will feature a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which will help the car get an exemption from high GST rates. Even though it's a hybrid, its starting price is expected to be around ₹10 lakh.
The Hyundai Creta is already available in petrol and electric versions. Now, its hybrid model is being developed on the new K3 platform. This car will come with a 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine and will be launched in early 2027. Its price is estimated to be between ₹11 lakh and ₹20 lakh. The Hyundai Alcazar, a premium and large car from Hyundai, has already been well-received in India. Now, it is also set to come in a hybrid variant. This car, with a 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain, will hit Indian roads by late 2027 or early 2028.

Renault Kwid: New Facelift Set to Challenge Alto K10, Big Buzz Ahead!

We all love our bikes, but are we washing them the right way? A few common mistakes can seriously reduce your bike's life and shine. Here's a quick guide on how to clean your bike properly and what you absolutely shouldn't do.Does your beloved bike look old and dull just a few months after buying it? The main reason is the mistakes we make while washing it. If you don't properly remove the daily dust, mud, and oil, your bike's paint will fade and it will start to rust. Many people make the first mistake of washing their bike with dish soap or laundry detergent. These chemicals eat away the protective layer on the paint, making it dull over time. Therefore, it's essential to always use a special shampoo sold for bikes.
Always park your bike in a shady spot and start washing only after the engine has cooled down. You should avoid spraying water at high pressure directly on the bike. Water hitting the engine, electrical wiring, battery, and meter console at high speed can cause damage. Mix the bike shampoo in water and gently scrub the bike with a soft sponge or a microfiber cloth. Using hard brushes will cause scratches on the paint. After washing, rinse the bike completely with clean water and immediately wipe it dry with a soft, dry cloth. You don't need to wash your bike every day. Just dusting it with a soft cloth is enough. If it gets wet in the rain, wiping it dry immediately will prevent rust.

EV in the Rain? Don’t Drive Till You Read This Monsoon Survival Guide!

You should clean the bike's chain regularly and use a special chain lube to increase its life. This reduces noise and improves the bike's performance. It's also very important to make sure that polish or oil does not get on the brake discs and tyres. Otherwise, the braking ability will be affected. After cleaning the bike completely, it's a good idea to use a quality wax polish. This not only gives the bike a shine but also acts as a protective shield against dust and water. But make sure the polish doesn't get on the seat, handlebars, and brake parts. Also, never pour water on a hot engine or wash the bike with shampoo under direct sunlight. Don't use diesel, petrol, or kerosene to wipe painted areas. If you follow these simple methods, your bike will shine like it's fresh from the showroom for years to come.

Number Plates: The 130 Year Old Story Of How They Stopped Hit And Run drivers!
Modern bikes, especially the BS6 models, are fitted with many types of electronic sensors and computer systems. When you are giving your bike a water wash, you must cover the silencer's opening with a cloth or a special silencer cap to prevent water from entering directly. If water gets inside the silencer, it can lead to engine damage. Similarly, do not let water collect in areas where the spark plug and wiring joints are located.

The SUV battle is heating up! Tata and Kia are preparing to launch all-new versions of the Nexon and Sonet by 2027. Expect new platforms, hybrid options, and more features. But, the upcoming BS7 norms could mean the end for small diesel engines.

Skoda's Kylaq, which launched in late 2024, has been a massive hit in India. The SUV sold over 50,000 units in its first year, making it the company's current bestseller. People love its great driving experience, premium interiors, eye-catching design, and competitive price. The Kylaq competes in the crowded sub-4 meter SUV space against big names like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite. And believe me, this competition is only going to get tougher in the coming years.

New Tata Nexon coming in 2027

Reports suggest that Tata Motors is working on the next-generation Nexon, codenamed 'Garud', for a 2027 launch. This won't be just a simple facelift; we're talking about major changes to its design and structure. The new Nexon will be based on either a completely new platform or a heavily modified version of the current one. It will likely continue to offer multiple engine options like petrol, CNG, and electric. However, the current 1.5-litre diesel engine might be dropped from the lineup.

Will BS7 norms kill diesel engines?

The future of small diesel engines is uncertain because of the upcoming BS7 emission norms. To meet these strict new rules, engines will need a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. This technology is expensive and would significantly increase the manufacturing cost. Because of this, carmakers might decide to discontinue their diesel variants altogether.

Hyundai: Affordable Electric-Hybrid Cars May Soon Change the Way India Drives!

Kia Sonet getting a new platform

Kia is also gearing up to launch the second-generation Sonet in 2027, with the codename 'QY2i'. This new SUV will be built on the company's new K1 platform, which is also used for the Kia Syros. This platform supports a new electrical and electronics architecture, which means the car will get modern features like Over-the-Air (OTA) software updates and remote diagnostics.

More comfort for rear-seat passengers

One of the main complaints about the current Sonet is the limited space in the back seat. Thankfully, Kia plans to fix this in the new model. The new platform will allow for a longer wheelbase, which means more legroom and a more comfortable ride for passengers in the rear.

A hybrid version is also on the way

The second-generation Sonet is expected to keep its current petrol and diesel engines and gearbox options. But here's the big news: Kia is also planning to introduce a strong hybrid version of the Sonet by 2028 or 2029. If a hybrid Sonet hits the market, it could give Kia a huge advantage over its rivals in this segment.

Tata Sierra EV: Range, Battery, All Key Details Leaked Before Launch!

Royal Enfield has launched a new Gorkha Edition of its popular Classic 350 bike in the Indian market. The company designed this special edition to honour the bravery and courage of the Gorkha Regiment.Royal Enfield has launched the new Gorkha Edition of its popular Classic 350 in India. The company designed this special edition to honour the bravery of the Gorkha Regiment. For easier daily rides, they've added an assist and slipper clutch, which makes gear shifting super smooth. The bike keeps the classic design but adds a new colour, Gorkha-themed elements, and some key features to make it unique. The biggest highlight of the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is its new Gorkha Green colour. This shade gives the bike a military-style look and reflects its connection to the Gorkha Regiment. The fuel tank and side panels feature a distinct crossed khukri symbol. Since the khukri is a traditional emblem of Gorkha soldiers, this design sets the special edition apart from the regular Classic 350. However, the company hasn't made any major changes to the bike's basic design. It keeps the same round headlamp, classic fuel tank, spoke wheels, and the straight, comfortable riding posture. While its overall look is just like the Classic 350, the Gorkha Green colour and unique badges make it look more distinct and attractive.Royal Enfield has not made any major changes to the Gorkha Edition's engine. It has the same 349cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled J-series petrol engine. This engine produces around 20 BHP of power and 27 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of performance, the bike will feel just like the regular Classic 350.The company has also added some essential features to this special edition. The bike comes with an assist and slipper clutch. This makes changing gears easier and helps with handling during downshifts. This feature can be a game-changer for both city rides and long tours. The bike also has a Type-C USB fast charging port, so you can charge devices like your smartphone while riding. This is especially useful for riders who go on long-distance trips.Royal Enfield has priced the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition at ₹2.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the bike have already started. The on-road price will be different in each state, as it includes RTO charges, insurance, and other fees.

Always wanted an electric scooter but the high price and EMIs holding you back? Well, here's some good news. You can now get an Ola scooter at a much lower price. We tell you how.For anyone looking for a cheap electric scooter, the Ola S1 X is a great choice right now. The Ola website shows a special price of just ₹59,999 for its 2 kWh battery model, after a ₹25,000 discount. This has caught the eye of people wanting an e-scooter for under ₹90,000. But hold on, this isn't the final on-road price. The total cost will change after adding vehicle registration, insurance, and other fees.
The Ola S1 X 2 kWh model's regular ex-showroom price is ₹84,999. The company is offering a ₹25,000 discount, bringing the special price down to ₹59,999. In the same lineup, the 3 kWh model is listed at ₹81,499, and the 4 kWh model at ₹97,499. This lets budget-conscious buyers pick a model that fits their daily travel needs. However, since offer prices can change anytime, you must check the current price before you book.
The final price you pay can also be different from city to city. For example, in Hyderabad, various websites show different prices for the S1 X 2 kWh model. One site quotes ₹89,789, while another shows an on-road price of over ₹1.03 lakh. This is likely because of differences in insurance, vehicle registration, and other charges. So, instead of just going by the website price, it's always better to get a proper price list from your city's dealership.Ola is also providing some finance options for those who want to buy on loan. The company's website advertises interest rates starting from 6.99% and a zero processing fee. But don't assume this rate is for everyone. Your actual monthly EMI can change based on the loan amount, repayment period, your credit score, and the finance company's rules. So, it's very important to calculate the down payment, total interest, and the full amount you'll pay, instead of just looking at the low EMI in the ad.
To sum it up, the Ola S1 X is a model worth considering if you want an electric scooter with a low starting price. The current discounted price of ₹59,999 for the 2 kWh model is definitely grabbing the attention of budget buyers. At the same time, you will only know the real cost after you add up the on-road price, insurance, registration, accessories, and any loan charges for your area. Also, Ola's sales page clearly states that the price can vary depending on your postal code. The best thing to do is get a final quote for your address before you pay anything.

Yamaha Motor has finally launched the much-awaited Yamaha YZF-R2 in India, targeting young riders. With a starting price of ₹2.30 lakh, this bike is all set to give tough competition to rivals like the KTM RC 200 and Karizma XMR 210.Yamaha is a huge favourite among young riders and college students in India, especially the YZF-R15. Now, Yamaha Motor India takes that craze to the next level by globally launching its new YZF-R2 supersport motorcycle in the country. The company started pre-bookings on August 12 for a token amount of ₹10,000. This bike arrives as a more powerful version of the R15.
The Yamaha R2 packs a completely new 204cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. This powerhouse produces 26.5 PS (26.1 bhp) of power at 10,000 rpm and 19.1 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Unlike the R15's SOHC engine, this one uses a Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) setup. What's special is that its engine valves get the same Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating used in the flagship YZF-R1, which reduces friction and makes the ride super smooth and fast.

BYD EV: New Model Promises Major Upgrade For Electric Driving!

For this bike, Yamaha has used a specially designed, all-new diamond steel frame that weighs just 14 kg. With a total curb weight of only 149 kg, the Yamaha R2 has created a new record. It is now the lightest bike in its segment, beating competitors like the KTM RC 200 and the Hero Karizma XMR.

Toyota Hyryder: Black Edition Brings Stealthy New Look for Rs 32,000!
Yamaha has loaded this new bike with advanced features perfect for the young generation. It gets Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) with three riding modes: Street, Sport, and Rain. You also get a 5-inch full-colour TFT display, traction control, an assist and slipper clutch, and dual-channel ABS. The mid and top models feature a segment-first bi-directional quick shifter and body-coloured alloy wheels. The R2 M pack adds a preload-adjustable suspension, adjustable levers, a faux suede seat, a silver swingarm, and a smart key system. The Yamaha R2 model comes in 3 variants and 5 attractive colours: Metallic Black, Dark Bluish Grey, Matte White Pearl, Racing Blue, and Metallic Grey. The base variant costs ₹2.30 lakh, the Quick Shifter variant is priced at ₹2.39 lakh, and the top-end YZF-R2 M variant will set you back by ₹2.53 lakh (all ex-showroom prices). These new Yamaha R2 bikes will be sold exclusively through Yamaha Blue Square dealerships. Deliveries are set to begin from mid-September 2026. The R2 will join the R15, MT-15, and XSR 155 in Yamaha's Indian lineup.

From 1 April 2026, E20 petrol is India’s base fuel. F1 never ran on E20 and now uses 100% synthetic fuel. Expect lower mileage (3-7%), moisture-driven phase separation risks, and unanswered questions on >90,000 pumps, even as the government cites about ₹2 lakh crore in savings.

India’s shift to ethanol-blended petrol has accelerated and stirred a nationwide debate. Policymakers and parts of the auto industry defend E20 by pointing to racing series, arguing that ethanol can boost performance. But the comparison between an everyday hatchback and a car lapping a circuit at 300 km/h is proving far from straightforward.

The original plan targeted 2030 for E20 at retail pumps. That deadline was pulled forward by five years to 2025–26, and from 1 April 2026 E20 became the base fuel across ordinary petrol pumps. Neat petrol without ethanol now survives only as a limited, pricier “premium” option.

Policy Shift And Consumer Choice

This has left owners of millions of older vehicles, designed for E0 or lower blends, without a real choice. Critics also flag the pace of rollout, the lack of clear pump labeling, and no price relief despite expected efficiency losses.

The government’s racing analogy is incomplete. Formula 1 cars never ran on 20% ethanol; they spent years on E10, which India has now phased out, and F1 has since moved to 100% synthetic fuel.

Engine life is incomparable: a racing engine (such as in NASCAR) is torn down after roughly 800 to 1500 kilometers, while consumer cars are expected to run 200,000 to 300,000 kilometers without opening the engine.

Racing Fuel Isn’t Real-World Motoring

Fuel handling is different, too. On a racetrack, fuel is blended fresh and burned within hours. In daily use and at retail stations, fuel can sit for weeks. Ethanol is hygroscopic, pulling moisture from humid air.

In monsoon or coastal conditions, excess water can trigger phase separation, the petrol layer floats up while a heavier ethanol, water layer sinks. Dispensers draw from the bottom, raising the risk of stalling and corrosion when that mixture reaches the vehicle.

Officials reject social-media claims of a 30% mileage crash, and the data supports that rebuttal. Still, mileage declines do occur because ethanol has lower calorific value. A 2021 NITI Aayog report notes that legacy E0-designed vehicles can see 6% to 7% lower fuel efficiency on E20. Maruti Suzuki has indicated a 3% to 3.5% hit with E20.

Mileage, Data And International Practice

Brazil shows a different path: about 80% of new cars are flex fuel, subsidies help offset efficiency losses, and consumers choose what to buy at the pump. In India, speed trumped choice. More than 90,000 pumps need proper cleaning and relining to store E20 safely, yet no independent public audit shows how many are truly upgraded.

The government says ethanol blending has delivered major gains, about ₹2 lakh crore saved on crude imports, some environmental benefit, and money flowing to farmers via sugar mills. But citing racing cars does not settle concerns over engine life, real-world mileage, and the effective loss of fuel choice for many drivers.

Bajaj Auto has just dropped its iconic Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 125 bikes in India with a fresh new look and some seriously modern features. Let's check out all the details, including the new features and prices.Bajaj Auto has given its popular Pulsar series a big update, launching the 25th-anniversary Pulsar 150 and 125 models in India. While keeping the classic Pulsar look, Bajaj has upgraded almost every major part. The new Pulsar 125's price starts at Rs. 92,990 (ex-showroom), while the Pulsar 150 starts from Rs. 1,15,233 (ex-showroom).The new Bajaj Pulsar 150 comes in three variants: SD Single Seat (Rs. 1,15,233), TD Single Seat (Rs. 1,22,184), and TD Split Seat (Rs. 1,23,187). The Pulsar 125 is available in four variants: Base (Rs. 92,990), STD Single Seat (Rs. 99,291), STD Split Seat (Rs. 1,00,288), and Premium Split Seat (Rs. 1,04,318). For an extra Rs. 6,951, you can upgrade the P150 to get a TFT screen with Google Maps, a rear disc brake, and more. The price difference between variants is quite small for the features you get.The new Pulsar 150 gets a 149.5cc single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine. It produces 13.6bhp (14hp) of power and 14.1Nm of torque, which is 0.9Nm more than before. The Pulsar 125 makes 11.7bhp. Bajaj says you can access 85% of the torque from just 3,000rpm, making it super easy to ride in city traffic. They've also designed a new gearbox specifically for smooth, low-speed travel.Bajaj has made big changes to improve the ride. The old dual-cradle frame is gone, replaced by a new single-cradle frame for better stability. Both bikes now feature a monoshock suspension at the back, a huge upgrade from the old twin-shocks. The Pulsar 150 gets a 260mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc, with single-channel ABS as standard. Both models run on tubeless tyres.Bajaj has packed these bikes with some serious tech. The top variants of both the Pulsar 150 and 125 get a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. The P150's top model even supports Google Maps mirroring through Wi-Fi, a feature you don't usually see in this segment. You also get smart features like call/SMS alerts, digital document storage, and a Type-C charging port. It's surprising to see riding modes on bikes with this power. The Pulsar 150 and top-spec Pulsar 125 models come with three modes: Road, Rain, and Sport. Another cool feature is 'Crawl Tech,' which lets the bike move slowly in traffic without you twisting the throttle. The top variants also get an ISG system for silent starts and auto stop-start function. The bikes also feature a redesigned, aggressive-looking LED headlight.

Heavy rain and flooded roads have become an annual nightmare for vehicle owners across India. Thousands of automobiles and two-wheelers are destroyed by falling trees, left stuck in flooded roadways, or buried in rising water each monsoon. The most important question that arises is straightforward: Who bears the cost of the damage? The answer depends less on the weather and more on the insurance policy sitting in your glove box.

Insurance experts believe reimbursement is available for monsoon-related damage, but only if the car is insured under a comprehensive motor insurance policy. Owners depending entirely on the necessary third-party insurance should not anticipate payment for damage to their own car.

As per NDTV report, Atrey Bhardwaj, Chief Growth Officer at Probus, a thorough strategy is essential for shielding a car from damages brought on by flooding, torrential rain, waterlogging, and other monsoon-related events. A basic third-party insurance, he points out, gives no protection for damage to the owner's own automobile.

Shashi Kant Dahuja, Executive Director and Chief Underwriting Officer of Shriram General Insurance, echoed the same stance. According to him, comprehensive automobile insurance often covers damages stemming from floods, waterlogging, landslides and even events when trees fall on parked vehicles.

Mistakes That Could Cost You Your Insurance Claim

Ironically, the most damage frequently occurred after the flooding. Experts uniformly caution against trying to restart a vehicle that has stalled in deep water.

Bhardwaj says if water has entered the engine and the owner attempts to restart it, the subsequent engine damage is often recognised as consequential loss under a basic comprehensive coverage. Unless the car has an Engine Protection add-on, the insurance may reject that part of the claim. Additionally, Dahuja cautions owners against starting submerged or extremely wet cars since it might exacerbate engine damage that might not be covered by the standard coverage.

What To Do If Your Vehicle Is Damaged?

The primary objective is safety. Experts instruct motorists to prioritise the safety of all passengers before thinking about the car. He also advocates avoiding flooded roadways if possible.

Once the car is stuck, experts recommend keeping it untouched. Instead of trying repairs or restarting the engine, owners should immediately tell their insurance, take pictures or record videos of the damage, and wait for the insurer's surveyor to check the car.

Experts also recommends owners to tow the car to an official workshop instead of driving it and to prevent any repairs until the insurance completes its examination.

You are also advised to prepare before the rains by servicing their vehicles, checking tyres, batteries and wipers, and keeping policy documents, insurer helpline numbers and roadside assistance details readily accessible.

Who Pays The Compensation?

If the claim is genuine, the insurer -- not any public body -- pays for the harm.

For car owners, the lesson is obvious. Monsoon damage can be expensive, but the correct insurance coverage, quick reporting and avoiding one costly error -- restarting a flooded car -- can make the difference between a completely compensated repair bill and a significant expense from your own pocket.

Forget range anxiety! Chinese EV giant BYD has just launched a new car, the Denza Z9S, that's breaking all records for range and charging speed. Here are all the details you need to know. The Denza Z9S is an electric sedan from China with a starting price of around $47,100, which is about Rs 40 lakh. Its biggest selling point is the massive range it offers at this price. BYD has designed this car for people who love long drives, making it a very practical choice. The Denza Z9S uses BYD's special Blade Battery technology. According to the company, you can charge the battery from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes. A nearly full charge, from 10% to 97%, takes only about 9 minutes! This kind of tech could finally end the long waiting times at charging stations.BYD will offer the Denza Z9S in three different range options. The base model is expected to give around 780 km, the next one about 920 km, and the top-end variant will go up to a massive 1,100 km on a single charge. But remember, these numbers are based on China's CLTC testing cycle. The actual range on the road could be different. You can't directly compare the CLTC range with testing results from other countries. For instance, America's EPA standards are much stricter. The Lucid Air Grand Touring, a top EV in the US market, has an EPA-rated range of about 824 km. While the Denza Z9S's claimed 1,100 km range is higher, it's important to know they are measured differently, so it's not an apples-to-apples comparison.BYD's main focus with the Denza Z9S is to tackle the two biggest worries for EV buyers: charging time and range. While the 1,100 km range is a company claim based on CLTC tests, the real-world mileage will depend on your driving speed, AC usage, and road conditions. Still, with its super-fast charging and huge range, the Denza Z9S is set to create some serious competition in the EV market.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced a new limited-edition styling package for its Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Called the ‘Hyryder Aero Black Edition’, this new version gives the popular SUV a sportier and more premium look with an all-black theme.

Aero Black Package for Rs 31,999

The Aero Black styling package costs Rs 31,999. Just to be clear, this is the price of the package, not the entire car. You can get this package on the G and V variants of the Hyryder, but only if you choose the Midnight Black colour. It's available for both the Neo Drive and Strong Hybrid models.

More Changes in the All-Black Look

The main changes are on the outside. The package includes a new front grille upper garnish, front spoiler, headlamp garnish, tailgate garnish, and a rear spoiler. The car also gets a special ‘Aero Black’ limited edition badge. If you want to go even more black, you can opt for an ‘All Black Package’ at the dealership for an extra cost. This is meant to make the car's black theme even more extensive.

SUV Showdown: Get Ready for the All-New Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet in 2027!

No Change in Engine

There are no mechanical changes in the Aero Black Edition. The Strong Hybrid version still comes with the 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle petrol engine. This engine makes 92 BHP, and it works with a 79 BHP electric motor and a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. The combined power output is 114 BHP. It has an e-CVT gearbox, and the company claims a mileage of 27.97 km/l.

Himalayan 440: Royal Enfield's Cheaper ADV Bike Could Launch By 2026!

Also Available in Neo Drive Version

The Neo Drive version also gets the same engine as before. It uses a 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine that produces 103 BHP and 137 Nm of torque. You can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The manual version even comes with an all-wheel-drive option. The main updates for the Aero Black Edition are all about the looks.

New Look to Boost Road Presence

With the Aero Black Edition, Toyota wants to offer a more unique design for the Hyryder, which is already known for its style and features. The company believes this all-black theme will give the SUV a more premium feel and a stronger road presence. Since it's a limited edition, its availability will depend on the stock at your local dealership. Toyota has kept the existing powertrains while giving the car a more attractive appearance.
