Are you earning ₹25,000 a month and dreaming of buying your first car? The rising price of petrol and the huge expenses of owning a car often make people put this dream on hold. But electric vehicles (EVs) have completely changed the game in the Indian market. Today, we'll break down the loan rules, the EMI math, and the actual savings you can make in 3 years. This will help you make the right decision.

Can you get a car loan on a ₹25,000 salary?

The first question that comes to mind is about the bank loan. People often think you need a very high salary for a car loan, but that's not true. For example, according to Kotak Mahindra Bank's car loan policy, the applicant's minimum income should be ₹25,000 per month. You also need to be at least 21 years old and have one year of stability at your current home and job. This means if your monthly income is ₹25,000, you are officially eligible for a loan for the Tiago EV.

Tata Tiago EV: Price and Options

Tata Motors has given two great options to make this car accessible to the common person:

Battery as a Service (BaaS): Under this new scheme, you can buy the car without paying for the battery. With this model, the ex-showroom price of the Tiago EV starts at just ₹4.69 lakh. After this, you have to pay a rent of ₹2.6 per kilometre for using the battery.

With Fixed Battery (Outright Purchase): If you want to buy the whole car at once, the ex-showroom price for its 'Smart' base model with a 19.2 kWh battery is ₹6.99 lakh.

The Full EMI Calculation: How much will it cost you?

Let's do the math for the EMI based on the ₹6.99 lakh model. If you make a down payment of ₹1,39,800 from the total price, your loan amount will be ₹5,59,200.

If the bank gives you a loan at an 8% interest rate for 5 years (60 months), your monthly EMI will be around ₹11,339. If you make a slightly lower down payment of ₹1,00,000, your EMI will be around ₹13,977 per month. For someone earning ₹25,000, an EMI of ₹11,000 might be challenging, but it's not impossible. Especially when you look at the savings from its running costs.

How much can you save in 3 years compared to petrol?

The real benefit of buying an electric car is its low running cost. Let's compare the expenses of a petrol Tiago and the Tiago EV:

Running Cost per Kilometre: The running cost of a petrol Tiago AMT is about ₹5 per kilometre. On the other hand, if you charge the Tiago EV at home (at a rate of ₹10 per unit of electricity), its cost is only ₹0.82 to ₹0.86 per kilometre. Even if you use public fast charging, the cost only goes up to ₹1.4 per kilometre.

Monthly Expense (50 km per day): If you drive 50 kilometres daily, you'll need to spend about ₹7,500 on petrol for the Tiago. In the Tiago EV, your monthly electricity or charging cost will be just ₹2,100.

Direct Monthly Savings: ₹7,500 - ₹2,100 = a saving of ₹5,400.

Total Savings in 3 Years: If you save ₹64,800 a year (5400 x 12), your total savings in 3 years will be ₹1,94,400 (almost ₹2 lakh). That's more than your down payment!

Maintenance and Servicing Costs

In petrol cars, expensive parts like engine oil, filters, and clutches need frequent replacement. But the Tiago EV doesn't even have an engine, so its service cost is very low.

According to Tata Motors, the Tiago EV needs servicing every 6 months or 7,500 kilometres. The service cost for the first year is about ₹1,500 (which includes alignment, balancing, etc.). From the second year, the maximum annual service cost is only ₹4,000 to ₹5,000. This only includes the cost of changing the transaxle oil (around ₹1600), brake fluid (₹400), and coolant (₹1000).

Battery Warranty and Reliability

The biggest fear customers have about EVs is the battery failing. From a journalist's perspective, this is a valid concern because the battery makes up 70% of the EV's total cost. But Tata has made this very secure. The company offers an excellent warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 kilometres on the Tiago EV's battery and motor. This means you don't have to worry about replacing the battery for the next 8 years, let alone 3.

The numbers speak for themselves. If your salary is ₹25,000, you are definitely eligible for a bank loan. Sure, budgeting for the EMI might be a tight financial decision. But if you consider the ₹5,000-₹6,000 you save every month on petrol and servicing along with the EMI for the new ₹4.69 lakh BaaS model or the regular model, the Tiago EV won't feel heavy on your pocket. My 20 years of industry analysis tells me that people who are adopting EVs today are saving lakhs of rupees in the long run.

Summer Car Care: The summer heat doesn't just affect our health, it impacts our vehicles too. Where you park your car during this season is super important. Many people just park wherever they find a spot, but this can lead to some serious problems. Many people just park their car wherever they find an empty spot, often directly under the sun. But parking a car in the sun for hours causes the inside temperature to shoot up. The steering wheel, seats, and dashboard become too hot to touch. Sometimes, it's even difficult to sit inside the car. The sun's harsh rays can also fade the car's paint and weaken its plastic parts. If this happens regularly, the car's interior will get damaged very quickly. So, always try to park in a shaded area. Most people think parking a car in a tree's shade is safe. But in summer, this can also cause problems. Sticky sap, dry leaves, and bird droppings can fall on your car. The intense heat makes them stick firmly to the car's body, making it very difficult to clean later. In some cases, tree branches weakened by the heat can break and fall on the car. So, even if you park under a tree, you must check the surroundings first.Parking your car in a place with poor air circulation is not a good idea. The temperature rises even more, especially near hot walls or in completely enclosed spaces. This puts extra pressure on the car's engine and battery. In summer, the cooling system is already working overtime. Parking in such hot spots can reduce your battery's life. So, it's best to park your car in areas with good airflow.Parking your car near roadside garbage dumps or piles of dry grass is extremely risky. In summer, high temperatures can sometimes cause the trash to catch fire on its own. If your car is parked nearby, the fire could spread to your vehicle. This can lead to huge losses, and in some cases, the vehicle could be completely destroyed. That's why you should always park your car in clean and safe areas.Parking your car under electrical transformers or power lines is also a risky business. During summer, electricity consumption is high, which increases the load on transformers. This can lead to sparking or technical faults. Sometimes, power lines can even snap and fall. If that happens, your car could be severely damaged. So, it's safer to park far away from these areas. A little caution can prevent a big loss. Where you park your car in summer is a very important decision. A small mistake can cause your car to get damaged quickly. By parking in the right place, you not only keep your vehicle in good condition but also reduce repair costs. So, make it a habit to park in shaded, well-ventilated, and safe spots.

Are you thinking about buying a new SUV? Well, you might want to hold on for just a little while longer. A whole line-up of powerful SUVs is about to hit the Indian market, and they are expected to be priced under ₹15 lakh. Big names like Renault, Nissan, Hyundai, and Volkswagen are all bringing their new models to India. Let's take a closer look at these upcoming SUVs.

Renault Bridger

Renault will launch its production-ready Bridger, a sub-4 meter SUV, in the Indian market in 2027. The company is building it on its RGMP platform. The SUV will be available with multiple powertrain options, including petrol, CNG, hybrid, and electric. The petrol version is expected to have new 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbocharged engine options. The Bridger EV is expected to come with 35 kWh and 55 kWh battery pack options. Its ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹10 lakh and ₹18 lakh.

Volkswagen Terra

The Volkswagen Terra is already available in international markets. In Brazil, for instance, this model is about 4.1 meters long. However, the Indian model is expected to be under 4 meters to get GST benefits. This model coming to India will have a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Skoda is also thinking about introducing an update for their Kailak, so Volkswagen might offer a GTI badge on its model too. The Terra is expected to have all the features of the Kailak, and might even include an ADAS system. Its on-road price is expected to be between ₹9 lakh and ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The company is expected to launch it around June-July next year.

Nissan Tecton

Nissan is getting ready to launch the Tecton in India on July 9. This will be a rebadged version of the new Renault Duster. Its exterior will be inspired by the Nissan Patrol. The Tecton is expected to share its features with the Duster. It will offer a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The bigger engine will come with manual and DCT gearbox options, while the smaller engine will only be available with a manual gearbox. Its on-road price is expected to be between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Hyundai Bion

Hyundai is also preparing to launch the second-generation Bion crossover in India. The company has given it the codename BC4i. It is expected to be launched in mid-2027, but some expect it to hit the market by the end of this year. The first-generation Bion had a crossover-like design, but the new model will look more like a proper SUV. Reports suggest it will have a taller and more upright stance. The new Bion will feature a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which will also be available for hybrid models. This engine has not had its official debut yet. Leaked reports suggest its price could be between ₹8.5 lakh and ₹14 lakh.

A motorised tailboard, leatherette seat upholstery and center armrests for both front and back passengers are further convenience features.

With leather upholstery, soft-touch surfaces, and metallic trim components dispersed throughout the dashboard and door panels, the ZR-V's interior has a dynamic all-black design. The higher center console makes the cockpit seem more driver-focused, while the horizontally stacked dashboard design improves the sensation of spaciousness.

The SUV has a strong emphasis on practicality as well. It has many trays and storage areas throughout the interior, a huge center console that can hold a tablet, rear AC vents, a rear armrest, and fold-flat rear seats. The ZR-V can accommodate up to 1,313 litres of baggage when the second-row seats are folded down.

Honda ZR-V: Powertrain & Efficiency

Honda's 2.0-litre direct-injection Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, coupled with the company's dual-motor e:HEV hybrid system and e-CVT gearbox, powers the ZR-V. The configuration generates 184 horsepower between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm and 315 Nm of torque between 0 and 2,000 rpm.

Depending on the driving circumstances, the hybrid system automatically alternates between Engine Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Electric Drive modes.
Looking for a car with a panoramic sunroof that doesn't burn a hole in your pocket? We've got you covered. Here's a complete list of affordable cars in India that offer this premium feature.India's roads are getting more crowded, and so are the car showrooms! Thanks to competitive pricing and discounts, even the middle class is now buying cars. And what's the one feature everyone wants? A panoramic sunroof. It's become a status symbol, more than just mileage or engine power. People love the feeling of driving with a view of the sky. Let's check out the most affordable cars in our country that offer this cool feature. The Tata Nexon is currently India's most affordable car with a panoramic sunroof. Tata introduced this feature in its new Pure+ PS variant. The car's ex-showroom price is just around ₹9.59 lakh.

India’s scooter market continues to thrive, with familiar names dominating the sales charts. Here’s a look at the top 5 scooters in May 2026.

The Honda Activa has been the undisputed leader for over two decades, thanks to its reliability and fuel efficiency. In May 2026, Honda sold 2,20,774 Activas, marking a 17.6% Month-on-Month (MoM) decline compared to April 2026. Despite this dip, Activa recorded an 11% Year-on-Year (YoY) growth, proving its enduring popularity among Indian commuters.

Holding strong in second place, the TVS Jupiter range (110 and 125) continues to appeal to riders seeking comfort and practicality. TVS sold 1,17,383 units in May 2026, a 6.2% decline from April 2026. However, the brand enjoyed a 12.6% YoY growth, showing that Jupiter remains a trusted choice for families and daily riders alike.

The Suzuki Access remains a stylish and efficient option in the mid-segment. In May 2026, it registered 70,339 sales, reflecting a 3.2% MoM decline. Still, the scooter achieved a 7.4% YoY growth, highlighting its steady demand among urban riders who value performance and refinement.

Leading the electric scooter segment, the TVS iQube (available in Standard, S, and ST variants) continues to gain traction. In May 2026, TVS sold 37,193 units, a 4.2% MoM dip. Yet, its 25.7% YoY growth underscores the rising acceptance of electric mobility. The updated ‘S’ variant with fresh color options further strengthens its appeal among eco-conscious riders.

Closing the list is the Bajaj Chetak, another strong contender in the electric scooter space. Bajaj sold 34,304 units in May 2026, a slight 0.3% MoM decline. Impressively, the Chetak recorded a 43.9% YoY growth, making it one of the fastest-growing scooters in India’s evolving EV market.

Hero MotoCorp’s Vida VX2 electric scooter starts at just ₹44,990 with a battery subscription plan, offering up to 100 km range and 70 kmph top speed for daily commuting.
In India, the demand for electric two-wheelers is growing every day. Buyers especially want vehicles that are affordable and can travel long distances. In this scenario, Hero MotoCorp's 'Vida VX2' electric scooter is catching the eye of the middle-class, as it's built with everyday use in mind. The scooter's main highlight is a new 'Battery Service Plan'. This plan means you don't have to pay the full cost of the battery when you buy the scooter. You just buy the vehicle and then pay for the battery usage monthly or based on the distance you travel. This trick has brought down the scooter's starting price significantly. This model comes with two battery options. You can easily charge its battery at home or the office using a regular power socket. The company claims that a full charge gives you a travel range of about 100 kilometres. Plus, the scooter can hit a top speed of 70 kilometres per hour. When it comes to features, this scooter is loaded. It has a full digital display, navigation support, mobile connectivity, and battery status information. It also comes with a mobile app that lets you track the vehicle's location and includes an anti-theft system.Features like ample storage space for your belongings, a comfortable seat, and a flat footboard make this electric scooter very useful for daily trips. Offering great value for a low cost, this vehicle is quickly becoming a favourite choice for many.

Toyota is all set to launch two brand-new 7-seater SUVs in India. These cars will come packed with fresh designs, hybrid engines, and many other exciting updates.Planning to buy a new Toyota? Then we have some great news for you. Toyota is soon launching two new 7-seater SUVs in India. One is a 7-seater version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the other is the next-generation Fortuner. The company is currently testing both cars, and recent spy shots have created a lot of buzz among car lovers. Let's take a closer look at what makes them special.Toyota is introducing a 7-seater version of its popular Urban Cruiser Hyryder, designed for large families. The company will likely launch this car in the second half of this year, around the festive season. Spy shots show a longer side profile and a bigger rear section. It will offer the same engine options as the current Hyryder: a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine (103 bhp) and a strong-hybrid engine (116 bhp). An all-wheel-drive system will also be available. We expect the price to be between ₹16 lakh and ₹24 lakh. The next-generation Toyota Fortuner will likely have its global debut in mid-2026, with an India launch by the end of 2026. Its price could range from ₹36 lakh to ₹55 lakh. This new Fortuner will be built on the upgraded IMV ladder-frame platform, sharing its structure with the next-gen Hilux. The rear will feature new LED taillights, a connected light bar, and a new bumper, while the front gets sharp LED headlamps, a large grille, and a sporty bumper. The upcoming Fortuner will likely get a major interior overhaul. We can expect a massive 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, ADAS safety features, Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, and better connected car tech. While current engine options will continue, Toyota might also add a 48V mild-hybrid diesel engine.

Following the premium Italian automaker's announcement of the Luce, its first completely electric car, Ferrari's first electric vehicle has become the subject of a social media frenzy. The five-seater electric car, which retails for around $640,000 (roughly Rs 6 crore), was Ferrari's first significant departure from its long history of combustion engines. The introduction was a "very important day" for the firm, according to CEO Benedetto Vigna, who also called it a step toward extending Ferrari's product selection and embracing future technology. However, a lot of the discussion that followed the announcement concentrated more on the car's unique design language than on innovation.

Unlike Ferrari’s signature sharp, aggressive supercar styling, the Luce adopts a softer and more minimalist appearance with smooth curves, glass-heavy surfaces, and subtle detailing. Critics argued that the vehicle looked more like a consumer tech product than a performance-focused sports car.

Jony Ive, the former chief design officer of Apple, and his design studio LoveFrom worked together to develop the EV. Online opinions were widely split by the partnership's introduction of a decidedly Silicon Valley-inspired look.

Never thought I'd say this about a Ferrari, but this is one of the ugliest EV designs ever, and it can be all yours for $640,000 lol https://t.co/uaxkG0ynH7 pic.twitter.com/7SlFoCq624

— Sawyer Merritt (@SawyerMerritt) May 25, 2026

Some users referred to the Luce as "an Apple product on wheels," while others described it as a "generic EV" devoid of the fervour and individuality associated with Ferrari's recognisable designs. Influencer Sawyer Merritt, who focuses on Tesla, joined the criticism, calling it "one of the ugliest EV designs ever."

How Netizens Reacted To Ferrari EV?

As soon as pictures of the EV appeared online, social media sites were inundated with negative comments. "Chat GPT took just two minutes to complete this. How could you have messed things up so badly? One user wrote.

“They are trying to jump into a market where they have no edge, where someone else already beat them to the traditional design and all they have is a badge with some history behind it. There was absolutely nothing stopping them from just making a traditional looking EV sports car. But that is the price you pay when you are behind the curve but feel the need to stand out," another commented.

“Who the hell wants to buy a Ferrari EV, never mind that it is so ugly. Reminds me of the woke ‘Copy Nothing’ Jaguar add," a third user wrote.

“You can really tell the exterior was made with hate," another user said.

“Even on my Tesla, the charge port is hidden. The Ferrari looks downright ugly. For $600k they couldn’t hide the charge port? There are no elegant lines at all. There’s no passion for automotive design. It’s the 80’s all over again," another comment read.

“I’m genuinely curious to see who’s buying this. Ferrari just took the gold medal for the ugliest EV ever, period," said another.

These new prices will be effective across the country from July 1, 2026. This hike will affect all models under both the BMW and Mini brands. He explained that this is due to 'macroeconomic fluctuations' like the falling value of the rupee and increasing logistics expenses. "To maintain our premium quality and offer a smooth, world-class service to customers, a price increase of up to 2% has become unavoidable," he added.

Which models will be affected?

The price hike isn't just for cars made locally in India. It will also apply to the completely built-up (CBU) models imported from abroad. Popular SUVs like the X1, X3, X5, X7, and the electric iX1 Long Wheelbase are also on this list. At the same time, premium cars imported as CBU units will also see a price jump from July 1.

Tamil Nadu’s newly sworn‑in Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and his TVK government are pressing ahead with the state’s electric vehicle policies. While no fresh standalone subsidy schemes have yet been rolled out, the administration is actively supporting and implementing existing incentives to accelerate EV adoption.

The state’s EV framework currently offers a mix of tax exemptions, subsidies, and infrastructure mandates designed to encourage both buyers and businesses.

State Incentives Extended

Tamil Nadu provides a 100% exemption on motor vehicle road tax and registration fees for all battery‑operated vehicles, covering both transport and non‑transport categories. This waiver has been officially extended until December 31, 2027.

In addition, the state EV policy grants a 25% capital subsidy on equipment and machinery costs for setting up public fast‑charging and battery‑swapping stations.

Platform‑based gig workers and last‑mile delivery partners also benefit from a direct financial incentive of ₹20,000 towards the purchase of an electric two‑wheeler.

Central Incentives Stackable With State Benefits

EV buyers in Tamil Nadu can combine state exemptions with the Central Government’s PM E‑DRIVE scheme.

For electric two‑wheelers priced under ₹1.5 lakh, subsidies of up to ₹5,000 are available until July 31, 2026. Electric three‑wheelers, including e‑rickshaws and e‑carts, qualify for subsidies ranging between ₹25,000 and ₹50,000.

While electric four‑wheelers do not receive direct purchase subsidies from the centre, buyers benefit from a reduced GST rate of 5%, compared to over 28% for conventional vehicles. Infrastructure Mandates For Wider Adoption

To ensure charging access, the Tamil Nadu government has mandated EV charging facilities in all large public, commercial, and residential apartment buildings. This requirement is aimed at supporting widespread adoption and reducing range anxiety among users.

For the latest government orders, updates, and specific vehicle eligibility under the PM E‑DRIVE scheme, buyers are advised to check the Guidance Tamil Nadu portal or consult local EV dealerships to process road tax waivers.

When you're driving your car or bike, it's not just your license you need. This one document, which costs just about 70 rupees, can save you from a massive fine of 10,000 rupees.Everyone is careful while driving a car or bike and tries to follow traffic rules. But rules are much stricter now, and fines are higher. We always check for our helmet, seat belt, and driving license. But there's one small document we often forget. This paper costs very little but can lead to a fine of ten thousand rupees if you don't have it.Before you take your vehicle out, always check if you have a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate. Make sure you've renewed it on time. This certificate costs only between 70 to 100 rupees. But if you don't have it, the traffic police can slap you with a heavy fine of up to ₹10,000.Every single person driving a vehicle needs this document. It's not just for cars; even bike riders must have it. The PUC certificate proves that your vehicle's emissions are within the set limits. Auto and truck drivers also need to carry it. The government has made this rule stricter to control pollution. If you're caught on the road without a valid PUC, you could face a fine of up to ₹10,000 for the first offence, and in some cases, even jail time.Getting a PUC certificate is actually very simple. You can get it easily at any authorised emission testing centre or even at many petrol pumps. They test your vehicle with a machine and give you the certificate in just 10 to 15 minutes. For bikes and scooters, the fee is around 70 to 80 rupees, while for cars, it's about 100 to 150 rupees. You can also use online services related to your PUC. The traffic department is now using digital systems to monitor vehicles. In many cities, the system automatically sends online challans if your PUC has expired. Some people are even receiving these e-challans directly at their homes. What if you get a fine even though you have a valid PUC? You can challenge it in court. You can also file a complaint through the online portal. Once you get your PUC, it's very important to keep it safe and renew it before it expires. Don't make the mistake of ignoring this low-cost document, or you might end up paying a huge fine.

EV vs Petrol: If your daily commute is 30 km, an electric car can save thousands yearly on fuel costs. But is the higher upfront EV price worth it? Here's the complete cost comparison.

Petrol vs Electric Car Monthly Cost: The price of petrol and diesel has been increased four times in the last 10 days, and it has completely messed up the common person's budget. Petrol is selling for over ₹102 per litre in Delhi, and in cities like Hyderabad, it has crossed ₹115. This has left every office-goer and daily commuter with just one question: 'Is it time to park the petrol car and switch to an Electric Vehicle (EV)?' If your daily travel is around 30 kilometres, you don't need to listen to random advice. We've got a simple and direct calculation for you, so you can decide for yourself which car is the best fit for your wallet.

What's the monthly cost of a petrol car?

Let's assume you have a standard petrol car that gives a mileage of about 14 kilometres per litre in city traffic with the AC on. For a daily trip of 30 kilometres, your daily petrol consumption would be around 2.14 litres. If we take the average petrol price as ₹102 per litre, your daily expense comes to about ₹218. Over 30 days, your petrol bill alone would be around ₹6,540. Annually, this figure goes up to ₹78,480.

Also read: Hero Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Launched at ₹44,990 with 100 Km Range and Battery Subscription Plan

How much will an electric car cost per month?

Now, let's talk about EVs. Suppose you own a standard electric car. Charging it at home costs an average of ₹7 to ₹8 per unit of electricity, depending on your state's tariff slabs. A typical EV can easily run for 6 to 7 kilometres on 1 unit of electricity in the city. This means the cost per kilometre is between ₹1.10 and ₹1.30. For your 30-kilometre daily commute, at a rate of ₹1.20 per kilometre, the daily cost is just ₹36. Your monthly electricity bill for the car would be around ₹1,080. Annually, this comes to only about ₹12,960.

Petrol vs EV Car: How much will you save every month?

If you switch from petrol to an EV, you could save ₹5,460 every month (₹6,540 - ₹1,080). This saving adds up to ₹65,520 per year. Looking at these numbers, anyone would think an EV is more profitable. But this is where you need to make a smart decision. According to experts, the upfront cost to buy an electric car of the same level as a petrol car is about ₹3 to ₹4 lakh higher. If your daily running is just 30 kilometres, you are saving about ₹65,520 a year. At this rate, it will take you at least 5 to 6 years to recover the extra ₹3-4 lakh you spent on buying the EV. This is known as the break-even point.

Should you buy an EV or not?

Experts say that if your car runs only 30 kilometres or less daily and you are happy with your current petrol car, switching to a new EV immediately might be a loss-making deal. However, if you are already planning to buy a new car and expect your daily running to increase in the future, then going for an EV will be beneficial for you in the long run.

4 things to know before getting an EV

Check if you have a charging station at your home or office. If not, it can be a problem.

Buying an EV is still more expensive than a petrol car. The initial purchase price is higher.

For those who go on long drives, charging facilities are not available everywhere yet. Not all cities and highways have charging stations.

You will see the benefits of an EV sooner only if your daily running is high.

Disclaimer: This article is for general information only. The calculations for petrol, diesel, and electricity prices are based on general averages (average mileage, domestic electricity rates, and current market prices). These figures and your actual savings may be higher or lower depending on your city, car model, driving habits, and state regulations. Please get complete information from official dealers and consult an expert before buying a new vehicle or making any financial decision.

The engine remains a key reason for the MPV’s popularity, offering strong low‑end performance, relaxed cruising ability, and long‑distance comfort. Toyota claims fuel efficiency of up to 15 kmpl.

Safety equipment continues unchanged, including seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist Control, ABS with EBD, and brake assist. The Innova Crysta maintains its blend of comfort, practicality, and dependability that has built a loyal customer base over two decades.

The updated model is available in five exterior colours: Platinum White Pearl, Super White, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, and Avant‑Garde Bronze Metallic.

The launch comes at a time when the Innova HyCross has increasingly become Toyota’s flagship MPV. Despite this, the diesel‑powered Crysta continues to enjoy strong demand from buyers seeking durability and long‑distance comfort.

Industry reports suggest the Innova Crysta could be discontinued by 2027 as Toyota transitions towards newer electrified products. If so, this update may represent the final significant refresh for one of India’s most successful MPVs before it eventually bows out of the market.

Maruti offers budget-friendly cars like the S-Presso, Alto K10, Celerio and Wagon R for buyers earning ₹30,000 a month, with low EMIs, good mileage and affordable maintenance.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso: The feel of an SUV on a small budget

If you want a car that looks tough and sits high without spending too much, the S-Presso is a great choice. Its good ground clearance helps it handle bad roads and potholes easily. The car's ex-showroom price is between ₹3.50 lakh and ₹5.25 lakh. It gives a mileage of 21.4 km per litre on petrol and 32.7 km per kg on CNG. If you make a down payment of around ₹1 lakh, your monthly EMI will be about ₹5,500 to ₹6,500. This is very manageable on a ₹30,000 salary.

Maruti Suzuki Alto K10: A name you can trust

The Alto has always been the Indian middle class's favourite car. The new K10 model gives you more space, a better look, and a powerful engine. It is perfect for city traffic and narrow lanes. Its ex-showroom price starts from ₹3.70 lakh and goes up to ₹5.45 lakh. The car delivers a mileage of 24.4 km per litre on petrol and 33.9 km per kg on CNG. For the base model, you might only have to pay an EMI of around ₹6,000 per month. Plus, its maintenance is super cheap, so it won't burn a hole in your pocket.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio: The mileage queen

If you drive a lot every day and want a car that gives you full value for every drop of petrol, the Celerio is for you. It has a modern cabin and looks quite stylish too. Its ex-showroom price ranges from ₹4.70 lakh to ₹6.73 lakh. The car runs 25.0 km per litre on petrol and 34.4 km per kg on CNG. For its starting variants, your monthly EMI could be around ₹7,500. If you can manage your expenses a bit on a ₹30,000 salary, this is a solid deal.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R: The family's all-rounder car

People call the Wagon R India's 'tall-boy' car for a reason. It offers so much headroom and legroom that a family of five can travel very comfortably. The car's ex-showroom price is between ₹4.99 lakh and ₹6.84 lakh. It gives a mileage of 20.5 km per litre on petrol and 33.5 km per kg on CNG. If you buy the base variant, your monthly EMI could be around ₹7,800 to ₹8,200. If you have a second source of income at home, you can choose this car without a second thought.

What should you do to buy a car on a ₹30,000 salary?

Finance experts believe that a car's on-road price should not be more than half of your monthly salary. However, if you take a loan for 5 or 7 years, your monthly EMI should be between ₹6,000 and ₹7,500. This leaves you with ₹22,000-₹23,000 for household expenses and savings. Try to keep your EMI under 15-20% of your salary.

Disclaimer: The ex-showroom prices and mileage figures for Maruti Suzuki cars in this article are based on official company data. On-road prices can change depending on your city, state, RTO registration, and insurance rules. The monthly loan EMI depends on your down payment, the bank's interest rates, and the loan tenure. Please confirm the latest prices and offers with your nearest authorised dealer before making a final decision.

The company claims the hybrid version delivers an impressive mileage of 27.26 kmpl. A major highlight is the 8-year warranty on the hybrid battery. Bookings and deliveries have already started at Honda dealerships across India, making the new City a top choice for anyone planning to buy a sedan.
