These are some of the best beaches in South India. It is claimed unofficially as being those beaches where one can bask in their au natural glory aka nude thanks to its isolated locations. However, it is illegal to do so. But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy its spectacular views, and tick this off your bucket list.

 

1. Marari Beach (Kerala)

Beaches in Kerala are no doubt the best among those in India. Among them is Marari; that doubles up as a perfect spot to explore the backwaters of ‘Gods Own Country’. It is not so popular among travellers, and hence provides the perfect solitude and isolation to unwind. This village beach is located around 60 km from Kochi. It has a long shoreline where one can enjoy a perfect vacation. 

 

 

 

2. Secret Beach  (Kerala)

True to its name, this beach in the Alappuzha district is not known to many. The Secret Beach with its rustic charm is home to a small coastal community here. This quiet and underdeveloped beach is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate from the maddening hassles and humdrum of daily life. There are home-stay options to stay near the beach as well. 

 

 

3. Butterfly Beach (Goa)

Goa is famous for its beaches and has a high tourist population. Despite that, the  Butterfly Beach is an exception. This secluded beach is surrounded by a dense forest, and there are no motorable roads for you to get here. You have to either trek through the forest for two hours or take a ferry from another beach to reach here.  Is this worth it? Well, there’s only one way to find out! 

 

 

 

4. Ozran Beach (Goa)  


Ozran is a very difficult beach to locate and this makes it a not so popular tourist destination in Goa. The place is clean, amazing and quite exotic and is one of the most charming and finest beaches in the world. It lines in the vicinity of some of the popular beaches like Candolim, Vagator, and Baga.

 


5. Arambol Beach (Goa) 

 



The beach is famous for its local mud, which is believed to have medicinal properties. Usually, people visiting this place love to slather their body with the local mud. Located in North Goa, this beach is said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa. 



6. Om Beach (Karnataka)
 

 


Having derived its name from the shape, this beach is in fact split into two beaches, Om beach (Half Moon beach) and Paradise beach (Full Moon beach). Both are about 6 km from Gokarna and are accessible only by boat or foot. The beach is in the shape of Om  symbol. Alternatively, you can hop over to Paradise Beach and soak in some sun and sand.  
 

 

 

7. Agatti Island (Lakshadweep) 

 

 

Covered with coconut and palm trees, and is rich in coral reefs and lagoons, it's the ideal place to skinny dip if you have the gumption to do so. It is necessary to obtain permission from the Lakshadweep Administration before entering this island, and for this to happen, you need to have a confirmed place to stay as accommodation proof .
