Do you know most of our communication comes from non-verbal cues? So, if you’re wondering where you’ve been going wrong, it’s your body language.
Zoning out:
Otherwise called as not paying attention. When one is in conversation with another to not pay attention and zoning out mid conversation is incredibly unprofessional. In your mind, you may think you’re giving out ‘I am listening to you’ signals, but you couldn’t be further from the truth. Your restless leg tapping and blank expression, in one swift motion, give you away.
Arms and legs crossed:
This makes one come across as rigid, uptight and defensive, which makes it very difficult to have a conversation because the signal you’re subconsciously sending out is that ‘I have made up my mind and nothing you say will change my mind about it’.
Leaning away:
If you’re in conversation with either your peer or boss, and you lean away, you come across as being rude and disinterested.
