Kerala: Mysterious deaths of 4 family members in Pinarayi finally decoded

The mysterious death of four members of a family in Pinarayi, Kannur has finally been decoded. The lone-surviving member of the family, Soumya had been taken into custody and was questioned for 11 hours at Thalassery rest house, after which she confessed that she had killed her parents and one daughter by lacing their food with rat poison. The poison was mixed with ‘rasam’ for Kunjikannan (father), fish curry for Kamala (mother) and rice for Aishwarya (daughter). The presence of aluminium phosphate in the bodies, and the similar manner in which the deaths occurred had strengthened suspicion of foul play in their untimely deaths.
