Woman beaten by spurned lover after she rejects him for hiding his religion

A woman named Kala was beaten by her spurned lover Ramesh and two others in Tumakuru, Karnataka. The twist in the tale, however, is that Ramesh, in reality, is Imran. The Muslim man changed his name to Ramesh in order to woo and marry Kala. She refused to marry him saying that he had cheated on her by changing his identity. Yesterday, when Kala along with her friends came to a hotel, she was assaulted by Imran and his friends. They continued to beat her on the streets. Passersby intervened and handed the three, including Imran, over to the cops.
