FollowA teacher who was showing porn pictures to girl students, touching them inappropriately and sexually harassing them was beaten up by the villagers and handed over to the police. A complaint against him has been lodged under POCSO by the Vaddarakuppe rural police in Kunigal district, reports Kannada Prabha.
Dayananda Murthy, a teacher at the Vaddarakuppe rural school was transferred to the school two years ago. He was showing porn pictures to Class V girl students, touching them inappropriately. He would give flowers to the girls and tell them to wear it and come the next day. He would threaten that he would run over them with a JCB and bury them if they don’t obey him or tell anyone about it, the girls complained.
When the girls were fed up by his sexual harassment, they confided in a classmate boy. He suggested that they should call 100 and inform the police. The girls borrowed a mobile from somebody in the village and called 100 and told about their plight. Those nearby heard them talking on the phone and inquired what the problem was. When the girls told them, all the villagers gathered around the school and beat up the teacher, locked him up in the school. One of the parents lodged a police complaint and the police arrested him and filed a complaint under POCSO.
BEO Somashekhar said a report has been submitted to the higher officials in this regard and Dayananad Murthy will be suspended.
