The Jan Ki Baat representative was in Tumkur University, speaking to the students in the backdrop of Assembly Elections in Karnataka on May 12. The first-time voters spoke about their grievances and expressed that Congress had promised them laptops, but hadn't lived up to their promises. Among the three groups who spoke, one was clear that they want to vote for BJP, as they think the party will create better job opportunities in Tumakuru. Those who wanted to vote for Congress, said that the party had given importance to women's education. At the same time, another group was of the opinion that regional parties can do justice and wanted to vote for JD(S).
