Man protests not for water or food but for condom

You may have a hundred reasons to protest, but we bet you may have never considered this reason to protest ever! But Ganesh is not like the rest of us. And for him, the unavailability of free condoms at a government hospital was certainly the right reason to protest.

Ganesh, a native of Chikmagaluru is married to a woman from Madenahalli village in Tiptur taluk in Tumakuru district. On Wednesday, he went to the government hospital to get a condom for himself, a service that is available for free to everyone. But to his dismay, he could not find one, reports Kannada Prabha.

When asked, the hospital authorities claimed the supply of free condoms was over. But that answer did not satisfy Ganesh, for whom this proved to be a truly offensive moment. He created a huge ruckus in the hospital, demanding to know why the government hospital did not keep a box of condoms - a mandatory rule by the government.

"HIV is a deadly disease, and the government provides free condoms to prevent the disease. But the hospital authorities are too callous in ensuring that," criticised Ganesh. In their defence, hospital authorities said that miscreants empty the box every day if they keep it unlocked in the hospital.

Although it all seemed funny to the hospital authorities, they soon realised Ganesh was protesting for the right reasons after all. Later, hospital authorities bought a condom from a private medical store and gave it to Ganesh, reports Kannada Prabha.
