Karnataka Elections 2018: Will the Cauvery issue make a difference in the impending polls?

Karnataka is going into elections on May 12 and  Congress, BJP and JD(S) have made a plethora of promises from waiving off farmer loans to providing lakhs of jobs to reduce unemployment. But none of the three parties has tried to give a definitive solution to the Cauvery issue. It looks like the political parties, especially JD(S) who claim to be a pro-farmer party, have faltered an opportunity to actually cash in on the issue and also do something worthwhile instead of making tall promises.
