In Jayanagar, Cong's young leader Somwya Reddy is pitted against BJP's veteran BN Vijaykumar

Ramalinga Reddy's boys in BJP  are said to be secretly helping Congress candidate Somwya Reddy.

If you go by the phrase 'no friends, no enemies and only permanent interest' in politics,  the same can be witnessed this election in Jayanagar assembly segment.

With the newbie, home minister Ramalinga Reddy's daughter Somwya Reddy, contesting her first election as MLA aspirant, it is said that she is being helped by BJP corporators who were groomed by her father.

With one of the largest assembly in South Bengaluru gaining much importance for its commercialisation and also for its good infrastructure, Somwya wants to credit this improvement in Jayanagar to her father as he held the seat for four terms till 2008.

After Delimitation, her father shifted to neighbouring assembly segment BTM Layout and ensured all his loyal supporters in Jayanagar shared the same bonding no matter which party they choose. And with his daughter contesting polls, it is said his supporters in BJP including corporators like Byarsandra Nagaraj, Pattabhiramnagar Ramamurthy and Shakhambarinagar Somashekhar also share a good rapport with Somwya Reddy and are said to be helping her.

The current MLA BN Vijay Kumar also sounds very positive and says, he has done a lot for Jayanagar in last ten years and hopes to make a hattrick win.

With many of the voters choosing BJP after Ramalinga Reddy shifted to BTM Layout, Vijay Kumar has managed to win the hearts of the voters here. With both candidates expressing hope, only on the day of results things will become clear as a single winner will emerge.
