Chennai: Man tries to rob bank at gunpoint, nabbed by traffic police

In a complete filmy style, a man who attempted a bank robbery at gunpoint was nabbed just a few meters away while on the run, by traffic cops. The accused, identified as Manishkumar Yadav (22) from Bihar,  entered the Indian Bank branch at Adyar, whipped out a pistol and pointed it at the manager saying he was going to loot the bank. After taking off with Rs 6 lakhs in his bag, Yadav got caught at a traffic jam where his pistol went off by accident. This alerted two traffic policemen who then nabbed Yadav. Police reported that Yadav did not think the heist through and hence did not fire at the policemen.
