Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali is confident of winning 100 seats and above in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections. Ali, however, admits that party lost the recent bye-elections in the state because of overconfidence and that the BJP's confidence is much higher after Dubbak by-elections win. "So far in the GHMC elections, the BJP is ahead in shouting while Congress has become lifeless," he said while heaping praise on Minister KT Rama Rao who has taken upon himself to ensure TRS captures GHMC polls.
As campaigning continues for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali is confident of a TRS win.
Ali, however, admits that the TRS lost the recent bye-elections in the state because of overconfidence and that the BJP's confidence is much higher after Dubbak by-elections win.
Ali said people of Hyderabad have respect for KT Rama Rao who is also the urban development minister.
He condemned MP Tejasvi Surya's comments on Hyderabad and said that this could lead to animosity
Nothing like that. I am telling you all the people are with TRS. We will get 80 per cent (seats) and form the council (GHMC).
In Dubbak's campaign, we were overconfident. The party was overconfident and no one went (big leaders) and I think even the candidate did not give a fight.
Will just with some oratory, things work?. Such comments (made by BJP's Tejasvi Surya) should not be made where tensions grips. The world is witnessing it now. It creates animosity among people. The country should progress.
TRS will gain the majority and we will get 100 seats
Congress is very low. In terms of shouting, BJP is ahead
Here in the last five years, some good work has taken place in Hyderabad. People will say many things and pass comments, but there is a respect for KTR (KT Rama Rao).
BJP's confidence has increased after Dubbak win. In Dubbak, no one went (big leaders from TRS for the campaign) except the candidate.
