Reservation in Promotions: Here's why this practice needs to stop

There is a feeling of discomfort among the people belonging to the general category after the apex court gave its nod to the Centre's proposal of reservation in promotion for SC/ST employee as per law. The Centre told the bench that it was bound to approve promotion of its employees, and that promotion has virtually come to a standstill after orders passed by various high courts.
