Odisha govt reopens Jagannath Puri Temple for devotees from today; All about it

FollowLord Jagannath Temple in Odisha's Puri will return to pilgrims on Monday after three months of COVID-19 restrictions. After the second wave of the pandemic reached the state, the darshan of the Holy Trinity was halted for three months. Following the decrease in infections and the relaxation of lockdown restrictions, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) decided to restore Srimandir to worshippers in stages.
Darshan will be available to devotees from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m from Monday to Friday. The Temple will be closed on weekends to allow personnel to sanitize the premises, and the management will also shut the Temple during important festivals to minimize congestion. Observing the recommendations, visitors will be required to have two doses of the Covid-19 vaccination or an RT-PCR negative certificate. The RT-PCR test report should not be more than 96 hours old.
It is also required to wear masks, apply sanitiser, and maintain social distance before entering the shrine.
All devotees must carry their picture ID card, such as Aadhaar/Voter ID, etc. On the other hand, devotees will not touch any sculptures or idols on the temple grounds.

The temple officials have also made it illegal to bring flowers, bhoga, or deepa inside the temple grounds. Tobacco, Paan, and spitting are forbidden within the temple grounds, and violators will be fined Rs 500. It has also prohibited the use of plastic bags within the shrine. Each infringement will result in a Rs 100 fine.Â
Due to the current Covid-19 issue, senior persons, minors, and those with co-morbidities are recommended not to attend the Temple. The administration has made efforts to guarantee that the Covid standards correctly adhere. Before entering the Temple, all worshipers will be thermally scanned.
On Sunday, police asked worshippers to provide comments to enhance their visit to the Temple. "We encourage everyone to provide feedback and use this opportunity to further assist us in enhancing the Hassle-Free Darshan Experience for devotees," Puri Police said on Twitter.
