Delhi: Late Union Minister's wife murdered during robbery bid
Police said that the prime accused, identified as Raju, who used to wash clothes at the victim's house, has been arrested.
Late former Union Minister Rangarajan Kumaramangalam's wife Kitty was murdered during a robbery attempt at her residence in South West Delhi's Vasant Vihar last night,
Police said that the prime accused, identified as Raju, who used to wash clothes at the victim's house, has been arrested.
Police claim that the accused visited Kitty Kumaramangalam around 9 pm. As soon as the domestic help opened the door, she was overpowered and locked up in a room. Two accomplices of Raju then entered and assaulted Kitty. She was smothered with a pillow.
Two accomplices of Raju are still on the run.
R Kumaramangalam was Minister of State for Law, Justice and Company Affairs in July 1991. Later, he joined the BJP and was one of the first party MPs from Tamil Nadu. He served as Union Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's second and third cabinets too.
