Bengaluru: Bengaluru's Presidency College will host the 7th edition of its annual media fest- ‘Vrittanta’ on February 27 and 28. This year, the theme is 'Mayajaal' - swirl in series.

Vrittanta is a celebration which aims to flash students' ideas and share their perception under the spotlight. Similarly, the students will also listen to the stories of the audiences.

The theme 'Mayajaal' - swirl in series' for Vrittanta 2020 explores the culture in new media of toggling between Netflix and Amazon Prime, leading to addiction, sleep-deprivation.

Vrittanta allows the audience to present their view of this change. The word Mayajaal finds its origin in Hindi, roughly translating to illusion.

The evolution in Indian and international web series has been going in swirls for the last decade. There are milestones of some extremely controversial and questionable as well as some wholeheartedly embraced content. At the same time, it has created an illusion of adventure and excitement around our mundane lives, which is far from reality.

Nonetheless, these stories are what define the entertainment world today. In Vrittanta 2020, the students attempt to give a platform to the audience's ideas of this engulfing culture and show the world, 'Aham Bramhasmi'.
