Coronavirus: India reports 11,610 new COVID-19 cases, over 88 lakh vaccinated
A total of 11,610 new cases in India were reported in a day, while the death toll increased to 1,55,913 with 100 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
India's tally of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) went up to 10,937,320 on Wednesday after 11,610 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to Union health ministry data updated on Wednesday.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has climbed to 1,06,44,858, which translates to a national Covid-19 recovery rate of 97.33%, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.43%.
The Covid-19 active caseload remained below 1.5 lakh. There are 1,36,549 active coronavirus infections in the country which comprise 1.25% of the total caseload, the data stated.
India's Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
Meanwhile, the ongoing vaccination programme saw doses being administered to over 88 lakh healthcare and frontline workers. The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 and vaccination of the frontline workers started from February 2.
