Kerala bride arrives in helicopter for wedding
A helicopter landing at the Pazhassi Raja College ground spaked off speculation among people of Pulpally town in Kerala's Wayanad district.
Many thought local MP Rahul Gandhi had come for a visit. Soon they all realised the VVIP was not MP but a bride who was making a grand entry to her new-generation wedding.
People who rushed to get a glimpse of their MP Rahul Gandhi, at the college ground were surprised to see the bride and her relatives getting off the helicopter.
Breaking people's curiosity, the bride, Mariya Luke, arrived with her family in the helicopter. She is the daughter of Baby and Lissie who hail from Vandanmedu, Idukki.
Mariya Luke tied the knot with Vaisakh, son of Adikolly native Tomy and Dolly, at Adikolly St Sebastian's Church.
Baby, the father of the bride, said that during the covid pandemic it was not safe for them to travel by road as it would have taken them almost 14 hours to reach the wedding venue. It was his idea to take the aerial route instead of the road.
The birdie's father also said that the wedding was to happen in May, but had to be postponed because of the pandemic.
With the Covid-19 cases are rising by the day, the families decided not to extend the wedding date any further more and took this unusual step.
However, all other family members opted to take the road, and started their journey a day before the wedding date.
Even though the helicopter ride cost him Rs 4.5 lakh, Baby was happy that his daughter's wedding went well.
As for the people of Pulpally, they surely will never forget the grand entry of this bride.
