The actress has been sentenced to three years of imprisonment after being proved guilty in a forgery case against her former employer.


The 42-year-old actress had impersonated as Shivani Arora and purchased jewellery worth ₹17 lakhs by using forged cheques in the name of her previous employer, Thomas Cook India Private Limited. She did this between September 6, 1996 and October 3, 1996.


The Delhi Court has suspended the sentence for a month. In addition to this, the actress has also been asked to furnish a bond of ₹20,000.
