'He is brilliant!': Shivarajkumar a big fan of this young Malayalam actor
- Shivarajkumar hailed Lijo Jose Pellissery's new film 'Angamaly Diaries'
- The veteran will appear in the Kannada remake of Mohanlal starrer 'Oppam'
Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar has revealed that he is big fan of Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan.
Â
Despite being just five years old in the industry, Dulquer has built quite a reputation for himself with his performances in films like 'Ustad Hotel', 'Bangalore Days', 'OK Kanmani', 'Charlie', and 'Kammatipaadam'. And Shivarajkumar has become the latest high-profile star to shower praise on the youngster.
Â
"I am a big fan of Mammootty's son Dulquer... ardent fan. He is such an amazing actor! An youngster finding perfection to that level... I've never seen a newcomer do that. I think he is brilliant!" the veteran said in an interview to a Malayalam news channel.
Â
However, Dulquer was not the only Mollywood youngster to impress Shivarajkumar. He also hailed young director Lijo Jose Pellissery's new film 'Angamaly Diaries', labelling its 11-minute climax scene as world-class.
Â
"There is a special scene in Angamaly Diaries... the 11-minute climax which he filmed in one shot. That is something unique. It proves that even Indian films can do such things," the Kannada superstar pointed out.
Â
Shivarajkumar will appear in the Kannada remake of Mohanlal starrer 'Oppam', which will be the first remake he does in over 15 years.
Â
"I wanted to do Oppam. I had stopped doing remakes but this film was a special film. If it was a regular film, I promise would not have done it," he added.
Â
However, despite holding new Malayalam films and filmmakers in high regard, Shivarajkumar all-time favourite film goes back over 50 years.
Â
"Chemmeen is my all-time favourite. Whenever I see that film, I cry. I can never forget Sheela and Madhu... how beautiful Sheela was and how special Madhu's performance was. Very few films have had that effect on me," the actor stressed.
