Bengaluru: Sandalwood beauty Rashmika Mandanna has been grabbing headlines ever since she was replaced in Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming cricket drama Jersey.

After working with well-known names in the South Indian film industry, Rashmika Mandanna could have made her debut in the Hindi film industry with Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey. However, the actress rejected the remake of the Telugu film, with the role landing in Mrunal Thakur’s kitty.

The movie happens to be the official Bollywood remake of Nani starrer Jersey and there were reports that Rashmika will be making her big Bollywood debut with Jersey. It was reported that makers decided to replace Rashmika after she demanded heavy remuneration for the Shahid Kapoor starrer.

However, contrary to the reports, Rashmika stated that she decided to let go off the project as she felt she might not do justice to the role.

Explaining her decision while talking to a news agency the Dear Comrade actress stated Jersey needed a lot of efforts and involvement and she wasn’t ready to it.

“If I am a part of a film, it has to be because I need to give in to the film. I will not accept any film to which I feel I can't give a lot to. Jersey remake was huge. Anyone would do it but then I don't want to come to the set and be all tired. I feel they (the film's makers) deserve more. Someone who can give in energy," Rashmika asserted.

The Geetha Govindam actress also rubbished reports of demanding a fat paycheque for the movie. She stated that the movie belongs to the male and female star and both are equally affected by the success or failure of the movie. “It's not about the money. It's about how much you put in,” Rashmika emphasised.

As of now, the diva is looking forward to the release of Mahesh Babu starrer Sarileru Neekevvaru which is slated to release on January 10 next year. Besides, Rashmika will also be seen in Venky Kudumula’s directorial Bheeshma.
