India vs West Indies, 1st ODI: 'God of cricket' Sachin Tendulkar in search of Chennai man, seeks netizens' help

FollowChennai: Batting legend and former India captain Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday (December 14) sought the help of netizens to find a man who had advised him during his international career.
Tendulkar took to the micro-blogging website Twitter to tweet in English and Tamil. He spoke about a waiter at Chennai’s Taj Coromandel who had advised him to change his arm guard.

“A chance encounter can be memorable! I had met a staffer at Taj Coromandel, Chennai during a Test series with whom I had a discussion about my elbow guard, after which I redesigned it. I wonder where he is now & wish to catch up with him. Hey netizens, can you help me find him?,” Tendulkar, the holder of numerous batting records, wrote with a video to his 31 million-plus followers on Twitter.
Tendulkar’s message comes a day ahead of the India-West Indies first ODI in Chennai. The three-match series begins on Sunday (December 15).
In the video, he narrated the incident. “In Chennai, it happened once in the hotel, when I asked for a coffee. A waiter came to my room and he said 'I wanted to discuss something with you on cricket. Is it ok if I discuss'. Then, I said please go ahead. He said, 'whenever I have seen you wear an arm guard, your bat swing changes'. I don't think I had spoken about this to anyone in the world. I was the only person who was aware of that. And, this waiter said, "I am a huge fan and seen your batting, I rewind 5-7 times and I watch every ball, multiple times, that is why I thought whenever you wore an elbow guard your bat swing changed a bit'. I said yes.”
He continued, “You are the only person in the world who figured out that. But you won't believe that I actually came back to my room from the ground and carried my elbow guard and redesigned my elbow guard, according to the correct size, the right amount of padding and where the straps should be and all that and I played.”
The 46-year-old Tendulkar played in a record 200 Tests and 463 ODIs. He is the only batsman to it 100 international centuries. He is also the leading run scorer in both Tests and ODIs. He retired in 2013. Now, he is involved with Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians.
